Sermon Transcription
It was right after the Muslims prayer call at noontime, when I was presented before the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia. With chains and shackles, I was surrounded by Islamic fanatics, young militants, who wanted nothing but my death. They crowded around me, some beating me up, others spitting at me. It was like a nightmare. I was scared, I was terrified. I've never imagined in my life that I would experience such horror in the hands of those who are seemingly religious. During the High Court appearance, I was with chains and shackles. I was taken out of solitary confinement, where I've spent days and nights without food, without water. No sleep. I was totally skeletal in my appearance, weakened by days of solitary incarceration. The Supreme Court declared me guilty of blasphemy, and I was given a death sentence. In all this, there were moments when I closed my eyes, trying to imagine that it was just a nightmare. In one of those moments when I closed my eyes, the Lord God began to translate me, literally. It's almost like a dream, or a vision in a dream. God's love and grace is so strong and real, that He brought me back 2,000 years, and He made me stand on Mount Calvary, and showed me the Christ on the cross. Christ came to set us free. Christ came to purchase us from sin and death. Christ came to liberate us from the bonds of religion. And then the vision leaped forward 2,000 years, where God showed me the day of my salvation. The Lord impressed to me that there are two things that I need to remember all the days of my life while on earth. It is these two important events. The crucifixion of my Savior and Lord, and the day of my salvation. For without the crucifixion, I would never be saved. Without the crucifixion, there would be no forgiveness of my sin. Without the crucifixion, we don't need to have church like this. But it was the crucifixion of Christ that brought a turnaround in all of human history. And so I stood before the High Court that day because of the crucifixion. Not really because of me, or because of the churches that I started in Arabia. It was all because of the crucifixion. Why? Because the Muslims, and every one of the Muslim people in the world, 1.3 billion Muslims, believe in their heart of hearts that the crucifixion was a hoax. It never happened. It was a teaching handed down from generation to generation, coming from the very mouth of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Jesus warned us about the days coming. He said in Matthew 24, signs of the last days, watch out that no one deceives you. People in the world today deceive, are deceived by the devil, and in turn they become instruments of deception. My heart grieves, because one out of every five or six people on the earth today, is a person totally deceived by Islam. What if I was born in Arabia? What if I was born in Afghanistan? Maybe I was born in Pakistan, or one of these countries that are totally Islamic. I would not have known liberty, religious freedom. I would not have known the gospel of Christ. So many of them to this day are still in that situation. In the high court of Arabia, in my moments of desperation, the Lord spoke to me, reminded me of the words of St. Paul. I would like to read to you the words of St. Paul that he wrote to his disciple, young Timothy, because Paul knew persecution firsthand. He tasted persecution. He was aware of persecution. There is a price to pay if someone decides to obey Christ. Here are the words of Paul in Timothy. He said, at my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them. But the Lord stood at my side, and he gave me strength, so that through me, the message might be fully proclaimed. Through those chains and shackles, the militants were asking a lot of questions in the midst of that noise in the high court. It was like chaos in the high court. Everyone, everybody wanted me dead. I looked around, hoping to find one Christian, similar to the letter of St. Paul that I just read. It was heartbreaking to find no one. I stood there by myself, declared guilt of blasphemy, sentenced to death. It wasn't easy. But God helped me. God inspired me. He kept whispering to my heart about the price to pay, just like the apostle Paul. Paul described it in very simple words in Philippians 1.29. He said, it's been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him. I became a man on death row. Death row was totally a nightmare. Lonely nights, missing my wife, my daughter, scary moments of tortures. Throughout my incarceration, I was exposed to all kinds of tortures. Beatings, brainwashings, indoctrinations. The Quranic incantations played loudly into my cell. Hunger, thirst, sickness. Prison riots, suicides of my fellow prisoners. Everyone in prison was a Muslim, but they were being treated evil, in such an evil way by their fellow Muslims. God showed me the total and the utmost darkness of Islam in the days of my incarceration. Prior to my incarceration, my wife and I started what we know in the free world as Christian prison ministry. I was inspired by the word from Hebrews chapter 13. Remember those in prison as if you were a fellow prisoner. And let me tell you, when that jumped into my heart and grabbed my heart, I saw people around the world as prisoners. Not necessarily behind prison bars, but prisoners of sin. And God in the world reminds me to remember them on a daily basis. I have to remember them. That I live in a world surrounded by people in prison of sin, in prison of religion, in prison of ideologies, in prison of rituals and regulation, in prison of rules and man-made religion and law. People all over the world. How much more in my situation when I was in Saudi Arabia. I went to see Muslims in prison week after week. And to my amazement, so many are hungry for the word of God. People, prisoners were accepting Christ during the hour of visitation when I was with them. Week after week, I had the biggest crowd inside the cage of prisoners that longed for my appearing and my coming every week. Not realizing that eventually I was going to become one of them. Looking back, the day I got saved, I cried to God the moment of my salvation. I said, Lord, please use me any way you want to. Send me anywhere you wish to. And I will serve you with all my heart, my soul and my strength. And I said, Lord, I'll do this for your glory. And I'll do it with all my life. I'll do it with great passion every day of my life. Not knowing it was a dangerous prayer. Eventually God would pave the way for me He showed me a path not laden with roses but a path laden with thorns. A path with drops of blood or sin. This is the path of Calvary where the blood of the Son of God dropped and fell from the tree. Where the Son of God, His head dropped dead on the tree. He gave His all. He gave His life for you and me that we may have life and have life more abundantly. When I realized this reading the Bible as a Christian as a born again believer I realized that this book is a book that expresses the plan of God for humanity. It shows me His love for a human like me. And I can help but to return what God's love means to someone like me. And in my limited understanding to return that is to be like Christ to a lost and dying world. To serve Him if He was willing to die for me the least I could do was to live for Him. It started my journey. The Lord sent me to a nation where people don't look like me nor sound like me. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia it is prohibited for us to meet like this. There is no religious freedom. Religious liberties are nonexistent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I was told by Islamic fanatics that for the last 1400 years of Islamic rule Saudi Arabia has not allowed Christian missionaries they will never tolerate a church to meet within the borders of Saudi Arabia. That's how intolerant Islam is among the Sunnis and the Wahhabi sect of Islam that originated in Saudi Arabia. Ladies and gentlemen let me remind you Saudi Arabia gave birth to the Muslim prophet Muhammad responsible to 1.3 billion strong believers of Islam Saudi Arabia gave birth to the religion of Islam through Muhammad in the city of Mecca his birthplace. Saudi Arabia gave birth to Islamic fanaticism extremism including terrorism. It was there where the world's number one most wanted person to this day named Osama Bin Laden was born. It was in Saudi Arabia where Muslims were born. It was there where they raised the biggest amount of money to support global expansion of Islam. It is in the city of Mecca where you find the most modern and the largest printing press on the face of the earth. That printing press is printing nothing but copies of the Quran. They believe the Saudis believe this listen to me the Saudis believe that any other Quran produced outside of Mecca to them is not really a copy of the Quran. This is the strong firm belief of every Saudi. In the city of Mecca no aircraft is ever allowed to fly overhead. Why? Muhammad taught every Muslim that the crucifixion of Christ was a hoax. He was never crucified. That's why every one of the Muslims in our world whether in America or elsewhere do not believe in the crucifixion. It is a major deception. Christ spoke about this as signs of the last days. Watch out that no one deceives you. And one man has caused the deception of billions of people and sent billions of souls to hell already. What have you and I to do to something like this? God sent me to this land and he planted me there like a struggling wheat in the midst of great opposition. God inspired me through dreams and vision showing me men and women going to hell by the tens of thousands. And I cried. I cried tears for them because what if I was amongst them and never heard the gospel? I would die and go to hell. I would pray as a Muslim five times a day. I would go to the ritual of washing face, hands and feet. I would fast once a year in the month of Ramadan and yet in all of this throughout my life adhering to the teaching of Muhammad it does not guarantee me a place in the presence of Christ in eternity. I believe in John 3.16 strongly. God has caused me to preach John 3.16 somehow in every sermon I've ever preached when I was in Arabia. And even to this day God always reminds me of the heart of every Christian sermon John 3.16 God so loved the world that He gave. Islam so hates the world of non-Muslims that they take. What a challenge. What a big difference from their belief and ours from their prophet and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are trained as young as little kids in their schools to hate us, to kill us. The nation of Israel the Jewish people we are not sub-human but we are subjugated under every Muslim. The goal of Islam is to conquer the planet Earth and according to the teachings of Saudi Arabia the biggest obstacle is the USA. If they can only conquer the USA they have taken the world. Watch out my brothers and my sisters in the USA. We have a challenge before us. The time of slumber has come to an end. The time is about to die. We don't really need to go to the Muslim world anymore. Muslims are all over our 50 states of the USA. They are in our schools. They are in our hospitals. They are in our streets. They are in our malls. They are in our neighborhoods. You don't need to go that far. Just watch them. They are all over the place. They came here with one goal to Islamize America. The gospel of Christ. God used me to start secret house meetings in Arabia which were totally illegal. But God inspired me with the words that Peter and John told the Sadducees and the Pharisees, the religious leaders. We would rather obey God than men. Jesus was like that. He paid the price because he broke loose from the rituals and regulations of the Jewish religion to introduce a God who is touched by human suffering. In the process, our church grew leaps and bounds. Amazingly, what God showed me in dreams and visions was happening left and right. I have seen the church grow. I have known. I have heard of so much hunger. I have met with many Arabs who were so hungry and thirsty for the word of God. Most, can I tell this to you? Most of the people of Saudi Arabia and many in the Arab world carry the sword of Islam hanging over the head and the neck of every Muslim who leaves Islam. They are terrified to even listen to the gospel. But I have good news. Despite all of this, in unprecedented numbers in today's world, especially since 9-11, we are seeing more and more Muslims coming to Christ from Saudi Arabia almost on a daily basis. We meet in apartments. Apartments are tiny and packed easily. One day in a dream, God showed me a vision of a big mansion. Not long afterwards, we acquired that facility. I knew the floor plan beforehand. We soundproofed it because hundreds would come every time. You know how noisy we can get sometimes when we get excited in the Lord. We soundproofed it, but we had some challenges earlier because of the large unusual number of cars parked in the neighborhood. It caught the attention of our Muslim neighbors. And so we were at risk. So we warned every follower of Christ not to park in the vicinity of that mansion where my wife and I were residents, part of the requirement. Well, the big challenge after that was a big number of people who always have problems in the church. I'm telling you because God wants to solve them for us to show us that we need Him. We need to rely on Him. In the process, we started Bible school because there was a quick turnover of ministers and pastors being jailed and arrested and thrown into prison. There was a quick turnover of Christians being caught. You know, it was exciting days despite the fact that we were in caves with one candle lighting our Bible study, our church service in a cave. You walk into this cave you see nothing but ice. And there's a candle there waiting for someone like me to preach the word. And I'm blown away by the hunger and the thirst of the people. On occasion we would go out to the desert, the sand dunes, to hear the gospel. They get saved and we baptize them in water. There's no water in the wilderness. How do we do it? We bring our SUVs with barrels of water in the back and we dunk them inside the barrel. God is good. There are many ways that you can serve God in the world, even in the world where there's hostility to the gospel of Christ. God, I discovered, when I was in my home, was penetrated by so many Muslim spies. You can't tell a spy. It's hard. Spies are good pretenders. But you know the word of God has the power. One by one, to the disappointment of the religious establishment of Saudi Arabia, those Muslim spies got saved. That's how we discovered about their presence. But of course it was too late. They've taken evidence against me. I became number one most wanted. Not a good title. But it's good to be sought after to be number one most wanted. Can people really tell if you're a child of God or not when you're in public? And when I was in Arabia, it was always like it stood out that I was not one of them. Five times a day they pray in the mosque. In those five times a day I've been approached if I don't go to the mosque. And I stood my ground. I said I'm not a Muslim. And that was scary. Eventually, because they could not resort to legal process of law. You and I are aware of this already. Islamic militants, when they're going to get you through the law, they will abduct you. They abducted me close to midnight. They destroyed my home, taken away from the arms of my wife and my daughter. That night they threw me in a dungeon three feet by four feet, totally dark with nothing but piles of human waste. I was stripped and they threw me in that cell with chains and shackles. I woke up to a nightmare. Every day, every night I was tortured throughout my incarceration. The most horrible moments they would take a prisoner and beat them up in the torture chamber. I've seen fellow prisoners cry out for mercy. I've seen fellow prisoners killed in the process of tortures. We were being flogged every day after the noontime prayers. It was a game that they played in prison. It was a scary thing. But I thank God when I became a prisoner God showed me. There's a reason why you and I are born again. I was born again in a prison chamber and I became convinced that only darkness in the world can never put out the light, the testimony of a single candle. And sure enough, God began to use my testimony. Muslims in prison were coming to Christ. Revival broke loose within the prison walls. They didn't know what to do to me. They beat me up. Hey, I've been beat up before. They see me witness to a God, witness to a prisoner and it's happened before. It's worth the price. Before my incarceration in the visitation hour when I went to see Muslims in prison, the guards became familiar. They saw me every week and so to scare me off when I spoke with Muslims in prison they would throw rocks at me and they would beat me up with sticks so I'd leave. But you know something church, the Lord prepared me because I began to ignore talking to the prisoners about Jesus. And sure enough, harvest was taking place during the time of plugging and stoning. Harvest is taking place. In today's world where 200 to 400 million Christians face persecution on a daily basis, harvest is taking place in our own country, the USA. I have met with outstanding terrorists from the Muslim world who were sent here years ago to kill themselves in the 50 states of America. In the process, one by one these terrorists became born again Christians. Today they are my friends. Today we travel all over the 50 states and we challenge people to wake up to the threats of Islam. Do something, pray and see God's face before it's too late for us. In the loneliness of prison there were nights when I would slap my face because it's a reality. It touches a parent, a father, a mother, a son, a daughter. If one member suffers, all the members suffer. I remember the morning, the first time my wife and my child were able to gain access to see me in prison. It was a heartbreaking moment. As I stood before them I saw my wife and my child break down into tears. Precious, my little daughter would cry every day and every night. My daughter would cry wanting me, missing me and asking for me. And my wife promised, precious, you will see your dad. I'll do all I can. Let's pray to God that things will happen. You will see your dad on your birthday. It will be my birthday gift to you. It will be God's present to you. Sure enough, on her birthday, by God's grace, they came to see me. And when I stood before them with a veil all over her, the black veil of Islam, only her face and her hands showing. My daughter next to her was crying and weeping. She said, mommy, where's my dad? And my wife said, he's standing in front of us, in the midst of her tears. She said, he's standing right there in front of us. You see, we were separated three feet from each other. Between us was a Muslim guard monitoring our discussions. On both sides were prison bars and mess wires so thick and rusty, you had to make an effort to look to the openings to see the person across. I struggled that morning when I heard my child say, he's not my dad. I imagined the pain in the heart of our father, who so loved the world he gave us his only son. And majority of the people refused to call him father. They did not believe that God is father and capable of being called father. To them it is blasphemous to call God father. Totally against the teaching of Christ when he gave us the pattern of prayer, when he said when you pray, you say our daddy, our baba, our abba, our papa, our father. But God is good. That morning, struggling, I'm a man on death row. I'm a man that's a recipient of tortures every day. I'm willing to lay my life in the altar of sacrifice. You have prepared me through your son Jesus who died on the cross for me. If he could die for me, I'm willing to live for him. And if need be, I will lay down my life for my savior who gave his all for me to be saved. And that morning, and God reminded me of 1 Corinthians 12, 26. If one member suffers, all the members suffer. That morning, by God's grace, precious my child began to react to the Holy Spirit's presence and God's love. I saw my daughter, my child wipe her tears away and she looked intently into the openings and she saw her daddy with chains and shackles. She saw me with my hair shaven in preparation for my coming execution. And when she saw me and my tears, she said, Daddy, don't cry. Jesus loves you. In a world that is hostile to the gospel of Christ, there is untold pain and suffering inflicted upon the followers of Jesus Christ. I asked precious, days after my release from prison, why did you say those words to me? There was nothing she said to me that day but those words. Don't cry, Daddy. Jesus loves you. And my daughter explained to me, I miss you every day that you were away when they would take you away from us. That was the last time I've seen you. And every night I cried for your presence. Every morning I cried for your presence. And every day I miss a set of hugs and kisses. And I was raised in a home, she said, where my mom and my dad every day would hug me when they said I love you. It was always equated with a hug and a kiss. And she said, I cannot say I love you, Dad, because I could not touch even the tip of your finger. We were separated. I cannot say I love you. I wanted to but I could not put my arms around you. But I said, Jesus loves you because although I may not be able to touch you, she approached so many government officials, including members of the royal family. Through her job and mine in the government of Arabia, we have become acquainted with some of them. Many of them became our friends. We were witnessing to them in the privacy of their palaces, in the privacy of their homes, in the privacy of their office. We were witnessing to Saudis, and Saudis were having faith in Christ. This built up so much and I became number one, most wanted of course, and declared guilty of blasphemy in the high court of Arabia, now a man on death row. My dear wife is a prayer intercessor. Day and night she prayed for me. One day the Lord spoke to her and the Lord told her, I see your grief, I see your tears. Why don't you write a letter to your president and watch me move? Sure enough, in obedience to the voice of God, she wrote a letter. When the president read her letter, he was so moved with compassion, kind of like angered by what the Muslims intended to do to me. As a result, it was all in the papers, in the media, it circled the earth, and because of that, Christians who heard began to intercede for my freedom. The emirs and presidents began to protest to the monarchy of Arabia the execution of a Christian pastor. Sure enough, as a result of my prayers, obedience to God, in answer to the prayers of many, including my own family, throughout the world, the king of Arabia was blown away. Coming close to my day of execution, for the first time in the 1400 years history of Saudi Arabia, they were flooded, they were inundated with protests and appeals for the life of a man on death row. King Fahd, the late monarch of Saudi Arabia, asked one question. Who is this prisoner? Why would the world take notice of an execution when we have done it for the last 1400 years every Friday after our noontime prayers? Who is this prisoner? Ladies and gentlemen, I was not really a prisoner. I was just behind cells and bars with chains and shackles. But as far as God was concerned and I am concerned, I was a free man and I still am a free man. It is for freedom that Christ sets us free, the Bible says. And if the Son of Man sets you free, you are free indeed. History tells us the life story of many martyrs, Christian men, women, young and old, who gave their life to save the world. It proves the point that no matter how religion does it and governments and dictators does it to stop the spread of the gospel, God's kingdom continues to advance. We are winning the war. Even if I died on that day of December 25, the day of my scheduled execution, I have longed so much to walk in the streets of gold to meet my Savior. But God heard my prayer. He knew to use me. As I was spared from death, the world heard of a freedom cry from the dungeons of Saudi Arabia. Freedom is a very simple word, but it's costly. I know what I'm talking about because 2,000 years ago there was one who was willing to pay the price so that you and I may be set free. I close with these thoughts. Throughout my days in prison, the only way I survived was through God and His Word. Many a time, the Lord reminded me of the preciousness of the words of Christ. In John 15, He said, If the world hates you, keep in mind it hated me first. If you belong to this world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to this world, but I have chosen you out of this world. That is why the world hates you. And then He said this in the words of Christ, He said, Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness' sake for theirs is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you when people insult you, when they persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you because of me. The same Jesus said, Rejoice and be glad for great is your reward in heaven. Like the Apostle Paul, I know that when I accepted Christ I was crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And this life I live, in this body I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave Himself for me. As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord. And I consider my life worth nothing if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus gave me. And that task is to serve Christ to lost and dying people. Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed. That and another passage there in 1 Peter has really been speaking to me in spiritual terms. Pastor Wally, I sent an email to our staff and our elders a few weeks ago and to be pretty spiritual I said it's been kicking my spiritual butt because this passage is challenging us in so many ways but even today more so brought to light what often times I want to complain and whine and bicker about my big toe ache. My kids not responding the way I want them to about not getting the pay raise about not getting the things I wanted at the grocery store about not having this or that and we don't understand. So thank you. Thank you for your heart and thank you for your willingness to share of your testimony with us that it is a joy. It reminds me of the passage in James consider it pure joy my brothers when you suffer trials of many kinds because these are testing so that you and I will develop perseverance and our perseverance will help us to become scripture says that passage says to become mature. We talk a lot about making and maturing disciples around here. We talk a lot about the M&M. This is a part of that and my question for us is God is calling. Will you answer? God is calling us at times to pay a price. Maybe, maybe none of us are literally moments and hours away from being executed for our faith. But maybe we will. I don't know where this country is headed in some terms men and women but I know we must be the church and God is calling us to pay some kind of a price to sacrifice. We say we surrender our life to Jesus when we give our life to Christ. We talk a lot about here at the River Church about giving our lives to Christ and truly surrendering our life truly giving up what we have giving Him control and saying forgive me I want you to be the leader and Lord and forgiver of my life but do we understand that God is calling us and there's times He's calling us to pay a price. Will you, will I count the cost? Pay the price. You see it really should go hand in hand when we come even the first time when we come to give our life to Jesus Christ and on that day of salvation not all but so many times we maybe make it too easy. Pastor Wally shared with us the idea of when you give your life to Christ it means of giving up your life. Are you and I willing to count the cost and pay the price? Pastor Wally would you take and I know we've taken plenty of time and yet I don't think we've taken enough time. Would you share with me and share with us just in those last few hours maybe what you were experiencing and maybe the surrender to my life is done or was there a cry out to God of an opportunity to continue His gospel if He would allow you to live? Could you share with us a little bit in those last few hours? You shared earlier about your family but what was going through your mind in those last few moments? Thank you for asking that Pastor. It was a mixture of thoughts and feelings. There were moments and I describe it as a moment of ecstasy expecting to you know be in the streets of gold and meet my Savior and put my arms around my Savior and His arms around me but then again being a person in the flesh and having tasted pain and suffering myself and I've seen the suffering of fellow human beings in prison and even outside prison I was always bothered and concerned about the future of my own wife and my daughter as a father, as a husband I wanted the best for them I'll be their provider I'll be their daddy to set the right Christian example to them as the head of the family that was one of my passions and the other one was there was a heaviness in my heart thinking about persecuted Christians many times when I was a prisoner I cried to God I said Lord is there someone out there who cares for people like me is the church in the free world even thinking of me appealing for my life the heavy burden in my heart was Lord these very people that are torturing me these very people that have sentenced me to die these very people with me in prison the guards and the prisoners they are the victims and not me and I said Lord you remember my prayer when I got saved it is still my prayer and I renew that prayer if and when you give me more favor to extend my life of freedom on this earth you may continue Lord to use me any way you want to and send me anywhere you wish and I will serve you with all my heart my soul, my strength and I will do it with great passion all the days of my life and sure enough again he heard that and he answered it I am blown away Pastor by my travels throughout the world and throughout the 50 states I have seen so many Muslims in our country and the opportunities are never ending we have reached out to these Muslims right there in the doorstep and in Arabia you do that you are dead on the spot I mean in Saudi Arabia you do that you are dead on the spot but hey we are in our beloved America that still stands for religious freedom my family and I have had received several threats from Islamic fanatics in this country already but you know something some of them that threatened us got saved in the process like I told you meeting with some of the terrorists that were here to plant terrorist cells it just brings tears to your eyes to come to know that we now serve the same Savior and Lord a brother in Christ from Morocco got saved not too long ago he was given a visa to come to the US he is now a resident here he is working on his US citizenship they started a TV program there are several TV programs beamed throughout the Arab Muslim world from America he just started one that goes on every Thursday and I had a sampling of that television program it is a live television program beamed throughout the Muslim world I had a sampling of that I was so moved to tears most of the calls coming in were from Saudi Arabia I am telling you folks in the 11 years I was there God showed me the hunger and the thirst of these people for a change but because of that sword and even execution and they are giving their hearts to Christ it just tells me pastor we are really winning the war and God continues to advance his kingdom we are in the best place on this part of the world to keep spreading the gospel and thank you pastor for a church like this that you are challenging to step up thank you forgive us father for our lack of concern it is easy for us to raise our hand until we don't go to hell do we understand the desperate need of a savior are we willing to risk next week we are going to talk about called to go to grow and to give as we bless and commission not only pastor Dusty and Tammy and their family but the families that are going to go with them to plant a church we are all called to go maybe it is to go across the room maybe it is a call to go across the hall to the cubicle next door to us at our workplace maybe it is a call to go across the city, across the county across the state line maybe it is a call to go across the border, across the ocean but it is a call to go and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ it is a call to go and give of ourselves to a king who gave his life for us we want to be a church and I am so excited with you and just another I stepped in earlier another incredible Sunday of AM students that normally used to be in here in fact you have got a goal to fill these front rows where our students used to sit so many times and now we have AM for them and they are reaching students and they are hearing his testimony Pastor Wally's testimony even from this morning as we recorded and thought it was so important to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and if he calls us to pay any kind of a price to be ridiculed, to be persecuted to suffer, then so be it are we willing? it is time for the church in North America not to play church we don't want to you know that about us at the River Church we are sincere, we desire we don't get everything right but we do desire to be the church of Jesus Christ and to communicate the gospel of love of grace, of forgiveness and to give us the room to share with somebody we love Pastor Wally, I know you have got some information you are not here to sell stuff but you probably saw it when you walked in and Pastor Wally and his wife and daughter are here and they will be at this table but I just wanted to share some information you brought with us because I think especially this one there is a lot of books on that but would you just share with us some of the information I am an avid reader of books especially on religion and Islam and I met this man years ago before he even wrote this book he was a terrorist trained one of those to destroy the World Trade Center in the process he got saved reading the gospel of Matthew on a direct revelation of Christ this man has an outstanding PhD a couple of them I believe from Al-Azhar University an expert on Islam he is well respected he was well respected by Muslim scholars throughout the Muslim world well when he got saved they hated him they were going to kill him he was able to escape very close and he moved to America eventually he came to America but his testimony is in the pages of this book but I want you all to read this book I have read many please don't take this as an offense I have met with a lot of writers that wrote books on Islam from the western mindset some picking it from other books and they put together other books I have yet to find a book that is literally based on the Quran what the Quran really teaches about Christianity and even the Jewish religion and violence and the goals of the Islamic Jihad Islam Unrevealed is a book that I endorse for every freedom loving person to read this will change your outlook on Islam this will cause you to pray and intercede for their salvation I have always told people we need to go to them before it is too late and they come to us with the sword of Islam being here in our country now this is the best way for you to be educated on the threats of Islam based on the Quran I always tell people know where they are coming from so you can tell them where they can go my wife, my daughter they will be at the booth please feel free to talk to them you can pick the brain of my wife Matilda and my daughter Precious on the book table I want you to grab a copy of this brochure a small flyer 66 facts on Islam in a nutshell you learn about the important doctrines that Islam teaches that will truly blow you away and at least somehow equip you when you talk to a Muslim do it in love I encourage young women of America and Western Europe no matter how good talkers they are olive colored skin or good looking that kind of stuff I have met with so many Western women that have suffered and paid the price for marrying and compromising to get involved with an Arab Muslim I know what I'm talking about by the way in our book table we want to give you as well a bookmark to remember the persecuted church in the United Nations we have information about ministry you can sign up we're trying to raise 500,000 intercessors to pray with us on a daily basis for the persecuted church and the lost and dying world it's a good ministry to join the ministry of prayer there's a video that we have passed out to so many Muslims across the USA it's the film about Jesus from the Gospel of Luke it has all the major languages any Muslim from any country any language can watch this and they will have it in their own language this has been used by God already the story of Christ on the cross winning Muslims to Jesus a small investment you give it to a Muslim there's a video here for little kids Donkey Ali it's about the donkey that Jesus rode to Jerusalem it's a good animated movie there's a video we have very few copies left but you can order online it's about radical Muslims who came to Christ through dreams and visions when we were in Arabia pastor for 11 years we have a 24 hour prayer chain we prayed to God because we were not allowed to witness personally directly unless they initiate the talk on religion so we prayed to God Lord show them dreams and visions of Christ on the cross and many of them came to our house church after the dream and vision there was a time pastor interestingly there was a driver asking to take you to our church he would take you to my house isn't that incredible get a copy of this my testimony has been circulated throughout the world and translated into many languages the latest version of my testimony is on this DVD we have a few copies remaining at the booth but you can order them I endorse this it's so powerfully packed by the presence and the power of God you can watch this with your congregations families have invited friends and neighbors lost people have come to faith in the Lord because of this testimony to the glory of God well pastor I just have to thank you for the time a commercial break thank you so much please take time to talk with them I talk a big talk I think we talk a big talk what would happen if you were beaten for your faith I haven't even thought about that I really do I think there's enough in me that I'm going to win there are people who have wives or husbands or children who are held at gunpoint or threatened to kill them what would I do if somebody said if you don't turn your back on Jesus I'm going to execute them right in front of you we chose in many ways not to be as graphic as we could with voice of the martyrs Pastor Wally even in detailing some of his persecution the beatings and not getting too graphic it wasn't about that it's something we don't want and we've even prayed that it's not just to make us feel kind of bad for a while and go away but what is God going to do with this for you for me we are called to pay some kind of a price are you and I willing to even pay a small price of whatever that may be of offering everything you have to God are you willing are you and I going to answer Father we're in desperate need of you Holy Spirit we pray on a regular basis in the last several months we have prayed that you would come because without you we are nothing and we can go through the motions of church and we don't want to we want to be your Christ followers we want to be yours Father give us boldness give us strength give us the willingness to step up Father thank you the blood of Jesus Christ for offering your Son for me God you have called us not only to give our lives to you but you may ask us to give our lives for you you Jesus Christ gave your life for me will I give my life to you and for you may we at the River Church never be the same may we be willing to do whatever we are called to do to not just fill seats in this auditorium out in A.M. and do multi-site and do other things to reach people whatever it takes Lord but are we willing to sacrifice are we willing to serve that it's about your kingdom and advancing your kingdom and reaching people for you help us we love you in Christ's name Amen
