Sermon Transcription
God lives and works today, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means we can count on Him. He will always fulfill His promises, and He will never let His children down. But how can we become His children? The answer is in today's meditation by Basilia Schlink. God still stands by the word He spoke thousands of years ago. He who waits upon God will not be put to shame. He who seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness will have all other things added unto him. He who gives will receive again in abundance. Yes, in short, these verses tell us that he who fully trusts in God, in His love and power, will inherit everything. Even here on earth such a faith will be richly rewarded, for it has learned the discipline of obedience. O faith brings God's almighty power To men so weak and lowly When tempted, victory we'll share If we but trust God wholly For nothing can our way oppose Even iron doors will yield to those Who trust in God almighty The trusting soul inherits all The heavenly kingdom's riches The Father's hands let blessings fall While bond and deity changes Though we be told all things you lack In joyous praise we answer back We trust in God almighty In times of need, if you, like a child, depend utterly upon the Heavenly Father, then you will receive everything you need. God has compassion upon the small and needy. Like a true father, He takes their needs upon Himself. May we have the courage to become truly God's children, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. Children believe what they pray for because they trust their Father. Children have no other thought in their hearts than that their Father loves them. Of course, He trains and disciplines them like a true father, but He also always sends help at the right time and responds to their prayers. And so children truly experience that God is love, pure love, and that He does good to those who wait expectantly upon Him. Those who trust Him with a childlike faith are allowed to experience His miracles. Yes, if you will trust God the Father, you will literally experience a foretaste of heaven here on earth. Heavenly Father, I am Thy child. Is there better to be found than such loving union? Oh, how blessed to be with Thee! Day and night secure to be by Thy love surrounded.
