Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the necessity of being spiritually naked and unashamed before God, highlighting that true intimacy with Him requires honesty and vulnerability. He explains that the wisdom of God, embodied in Christ and the cross, calls us to cease from our own works and embrace a life of humility and surrender. The sermon stresses that God desires a glorious church, free from pride and pretense, where believers can openly acknowledge their shortcomings and rely solely on the righteousness of Christ. Beach Jr. encourages the congregation to resist the temptation to cover their sins and instead embrace the purging and cleansing power of God's Word, which reveals the depths of our hearts. Ultimately, he calls for a community that reflects the organic unity of Christ's life, living in a way that demonstrates His glory to the world.

In Hebrews chapter 4, the Lord is going to visit his church before he appears in the heavens. And he is going to visit his church in such a manner that is going to result in a demonstration of his glory and his presence in our lives that will truly, in those who heed, will bring us very, very low, very low. There will not, at that day, and that day not being the day when he appears in the heavens, but the day when he appears in his holy temple. At that day, there will not be a haughty high look. There will not be a wisdom that will exalt itself above his wisdom. The wisdom of God is Christ, the cross. And anytime we choose a wisdom that excuses us from the cross, that excuses us from the way of death, the way of going his way, the way of lowering ourself, the way of denying ourself and choosing him. Every time we choose that, we displease him. But there's going to come a glorious church, not having any spot or wrinkle, that's going to be raised up by the hand of God in this late hour, that is going to be a witness to all the nations, and then shall the end come. This glorious church will know nothing of religion, but as our dear brothers shared this morning, it will be the fruit of Christ's own travail. It will be the manifestation of a mature crop. It will be an organic manifestation of the head in a people. The fullness of who he is and what he is as to his humanity, not his deity. We are forever distinct from his deity. But we are in fact by the grace of God united and have become one in spirit with his humanity. And Christ has now desired and is desiring that the full expression of all that he is in his humanity might be manifested through earthen vessels. Not by power, not by might, but by his spirit, says the Lord. Now in Hebrews chapter 4, Hebrews chapter 4, we've read this many times. Hebrews chapter 4 verse number 10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works as God did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest. Lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick. That means living, vibrant, full of light. Absent from the word of God is any darkness. Brothers and sisters, God is going to have in this earth a display of his word. That is going to exceed doctrinal exhortation. It's going to exceed theological teaching, although there is a place for that. God is going to manifest his word. It will not be the letter, but it will be a manifestation of the living word through living vessels. It's going to be a vibrant, living, full of light word that's going to come to you and I. This word is going to be a purging word, a cleansing word. Notice the characteristics of this word. And this is the word that we want to know. This is the word that we are diligently praying and asking God to manifest. This is the word that's going to convince the world that Jesus Christ was truly sent of the Father. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. The nature of this word is that it is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. This word has the capacity to plunge into the very depths of our being. This word has the capacity to plunge into the depths of our being. What's the purpose? Even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and the joints and marrow. And is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the harp. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight. But all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him whom we have to do. Revelation chapter 1. We find the same revelation here given regarding the Lord Jesus Christ in Revelation chapter 1. And beginning in verse number 12 it says, And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me, and being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks. And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one likened unto the Son of Man. Jesus Christ is standing in the midst of the church. The golden candlesticks are the church, that's you and I. Jesus is in the midst of the church. There he is beholding with eyes that pierce through and see the very depths of our being. As it says in Hebrews, All things are open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. All things are naked. We cannot perpetuate the lie of the world and the lie of our own sinful hearts that it's okay to be covered with something. We can't come to God covered. We can't come to God with a mask on. We can't come to God covered in anything. We must come to him as he actually sees us. Naked. We've got to stop wearing garments. We've got to come to him naked, pleading the blood of Christ alone. Claiming the righteousness of Christ alone. And when the word of God exposes sin or some kind of vanity or some kind of pride, we cannot excuse it or justify it or talk it off or try and juggle and try and pretend it's not there. We must learn through the discipline that God will subject us to and the chastening that God will subject us to. We must learn to become truthful creatures with our God. Our biggest problem in our humanity and it complicates this problem by living in this generation that we live in. Our biggest problem is we perpetuate dishonesty. God said the profound words to Samuel. He said, don't look on the outward because God desires truth where? In the inward parts. Genesis. Chapter 2. Verse number 18. And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a help me for him. And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was the name. And Adam gave names to all cattle and to the fowl of the air and to every beast of the field. But to Adam there was not found a help mate for him. The Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept. And he took out of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She shall be called woman because she was taken out of man. You see how Adam called his wife woman is he woke up and he saw her and went, whoa, man, all right, I had to throw that in. That's how she got her name woman. He was so incredibly impressed with the goodness and kindness of God for he had only seen that which was created from the dust of the earth. It was good and he named it, but there was nothing inside of him that bore witness to the fact that they could be companion to him. You see, God's eternal passion is companionship, it's fellowship, it's intimacy, it's honesty. That's what the whole picture of Adam and Eve is. Adam is a picture of Christ, the eternal son. And believe it or not, God has said in eternity past, it is not good for my son to dwell alone. This is what God is really saying here. The shadow, the picture, the type is humanity. And then God creates a woman, husband, wife, so we can have companionship. But that is a picture, brothers and sisters, of an eternal truth that has been in the heart of God from eternity past. It is profound. God has said of his only son, it is not good that my son should dwell alone, even though the son and the father have had eternal, perfect companionship and fellowship and the love of the father was upon the son and the love of the son was upon the father. Yet in the mystery and eternal counsels of God, God has made the decree and said, it is not good for my son, the son of my love, to dwell alone. And I want you to see that God, when he considered making a companion for the son of God, did not go to the stars and take something from the stars and out of the stars form a companion. Nor did he go to the earth and take something out of the earth and by it form a companion. He didn't go to any of the animals that he created and out from that stuff form something. But God, when he formed Eve, caused the sleep to come upon Adam. And took something out from the innermost being of Adam. Something from Adam. Something that came out from Adam. Something that was exactly as he is. And he formed woman. So that when Adam awoke and said, whoa, man, woman. He was saying, bone of my bone. Flesh of my flesh. Come on, let's dig deeper. Holy Spirit, help us. What was he saying? He wasn't just saying, oh wow, she's beautiful. She was. Oh wow, someone I can hug. No, God wants you to go beyond that. He was saying, woman. You, you are something of me. You, you woman. Are the very likeness of what I am on the inside. Finally there's compatibility. All the animals that God made, Adam could never say. Bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. Only, only when he beheld Eve. Could he say, as the scripture says. In Genesis 2, 23. Now, this is now. You see, the Hebrew. Now, finally, God has made such beautiful things. And I have named all the creatures. And I see a great heaven. And I see the earth. And I see, I see the stars. And I see the trees. And I see the fish. And I see the creeping things. But now, now, this indicates time. Now, now what? Now, bone of my bone. Flesh of my flesh. Now I see something. That is exactly like me. Therefore, listen closely please. This coincides with what the spirit is saying. What the spirit has been saying all this morning. Through our brother's exhortation. And the crying of their heart. Fellowship, intimacy, organic growth. Unity as the father and I are one. What is God trying to say to his brothers and sisters? What is the heart cry of God? This is the heart cry of God. Woman. Because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall man leave his father and his mother. And shall cleave to his wife. That they shall be one flesh. Notice verse 25. And they were both naked. The man and his wife. And were not ashamed. The initial relationship that Adam and Eve had. Was a two fold relationship. Naked and unashamed. And brothers and sisters. The passion of the heart of the heavenly groom. Is that he and his bride. Might know a relationship like this. Where we are naked and unashamed together. Turn your Bibles to Ephesians now. Ephesians. Ephesians. May the Lord by the power of his Holy Spirit. Begin even now in our life. To implement a form of child training and discipline. In our homes and in our minds and in our relationships. So that little by little and step by step. God might begin to unveil in our lives. Those areas where we are not naked before him. I'm not speaking of physical nakedness now. This has nothing to do with the sensual. But it has everything to do with the spiritual. It is a nakedness on the inside. Where our hearts are veiled before God. And there's no pretense. There is no desire to cover our sin. No desire to cover what God exposes. You see God resists and resents. Resents those who when the light exposes we cover. God doesn't want you to cover what he's exposed. If he wanted it covered he wouldn't have exposed it. Don't cover what God exposes. You say well brother I'm ashamed. Why are you ashamed? Why are you ashamed when God exposes your sin? You should be sorry. You should desire repentance. But you should not be ashamed before God. Because God has accepted you in his son Jesus Christ. You will not be ashamed at the day of his appearing. If you allowed him to expose your sin. You will be ashamed if you try and cover it. Satan has lied to the church. And has said you can't let God do that in your life. People will see that you're vulnerable. You're human. You can't confess your wrong to your wife or to your husband. You'll look weak. And so therefore you think that you have to cover that nakedness. And you think by doing so you're saving yourself. Shame. But the Holy Ghost would say to you and I. Nay. It's just the opposite. You will be ashamed. At his appearing. If when he made you naked. You sought to cover yourself. Don't you cover yourself. When God makes you naked. You come before him. You acknowledge your sin. You acknowledge your name. You acknowledge what it is that God is uncovering. And then you thank him for the imputation of righteousness. Through faith in Jesus Christ. Because we who are naked are clothed in the righteousness of God. But we who are naked and try and clothe ourselves. And try and cover our sin. God says what shall I do then. What shall I do then. That's when God says I'm going to have to bring the mountain down. Because it's pride. And self-righteousness. And a desire to save our life. Rather than to lose it. That motivates us when God makes us naked. To try and cover ourselves in our religion. Or in our good works. Or in our fair speech. Ephesians. Chapter 5. Listen closely. Ephesians 5. Verse 22. Wives submit yourselves to your own husbands as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife. Even as Christ is the head of the church. And he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the church is subject to Christ. So let the wives be subject to their own husbands in everything. Husbands love your wives. Even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. That he might present it to himself a glorious church. Not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. But that it should be holy and without blemish. For ought men to love their wives. So ought men to love their wives. Listen carefully now. We're getting into a mystery. Men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. That is a man ought to love his wife as if he's loving himself. Why? Where did Eve come from? So when Adam looked at Eve he was in fact looking at what? Himself. Himself. He was really looking at something vitally. Reflecting his own inner spirit. His own inner life. So it's not a metaphor. It's not a play with words. When we love our wife we are truly loving something of ourself. And now the logic goes on. For no man hates his own flesh. But nourishes and cherishes it. Now any normal human being takes care of himself. And so if we take care of ourself we should take care of our wife. Because she is in fact part of ourself. But watch. Watch what he's getting at. Even as the Lord, the church. Verse 29. You see that? See that? Stop seeing the church as some kind of a religious institution. Stop seeing the church as something you join. Stop seeing the church as something external. Made with outward roles. The church is a living, vibrant expression. Of something that has come from the very bosom of Christ himself. And has been imputed to us. The church is Christ's life. In the new believer. Making them a new creation. That is a brand new creation. Where the very life of Christ himself. Is now been imputed. Implanted. And growing in living stones. The church is not some institution. The church. What did Jesus say when he knocked Paul down off the horse? Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Paul wasn't persecuting Christ. He was persecuting the church, wasn't he? So why did Jesus say? Why are you persecuting me? Because when you touch the church. You're touching Christ. When you touch the church. You're touching Christ in the head. Why? Because the church. Is made up. The church. The church. The church's vital spiritual identity. Is now. Something that God. Took out of Christ. At Calvary. When Christ went into the sleep of death. And there at Calvary. God took. That righteous. Holy. Without seeing life. And plunged it into. The humanity that repented. Those who have turned to him. And in doing so. He has recreated the old creation. Into a new creation man. Called the bride. The one. Now when Jesus looks at the church. Guess what he says? Whoa man. Woman. You see it? When Jesus looks at you. He's there. Whoa man. Woman. Woman. Isn't that what Paul said? Verse 30. For we are members. Of his body. Of his flesh. And his bone. Isn't that just what Adam said about Eve? Bone of my bone. Flesh of my flesh. Now Jesus is saying this about you and me. This is the organic nature of the church. Partakers of life. His life. And now that life. Is destined. To bring forth. After its own kind. It is not. A manufacturing. Of holiness. It is not an imitation of Christ. It is a reproduction. Of the very nature and character. That belongs to the head. In the church. It's reproducing. His divine character. In. Living. Stones. Hallelujah to God. This is why. Dearly beloved. There is no room for pride. There is no room for covering our sin. There is no room. To be ashamed. Oh. How wicked. That. Attitude. Of being ashamed. To be naked. Before the Lord is. We who are ashamed. Need to be humbled. Because if we were truly humble. There would be nothing. That we would be ashamed of. Because our boasting would be in the righteousness of Christ. Why be ashamed Gary. At the exposure of our sin. When in fact. Our hope is not in our own righteousness. But in the righteousness of Christ. Does it not mean. That the desire to cover. What God wants to make naked. Only. Reveals to us. The deep workings of pride. And self-righteousness in our life. That need to be slain. By the high priest. Knife. Oh yes brothers and sisters. And this is just. Where. We are heading. As a company of people. And this is the same place. That the whole church is heading. Who. Have ears to hear. What the spirit is saying. To. The saints. We are heading. Down a road. Where there's going to be a company of people. Who will know. The intimacy. Of being naked. And unashamed. Before the Lord. Naked. And unashamed. Listen. From this day forward. Pray that God will help you. To see. The futility. And foolishness. Of resisting. The work of God in making you naked. Resist. The world's. Lie. The world says. Don't be naked. Wear a front. Don't be naked. Pretend you're something you're not. Don't be naked. Don't be weak. Pretend you're strong. Don't be sick. Pretend you got everything you need. Resist that devil. Don't let it in your home. Don't let it in your relationships. Let. God. Through. His light. Expose you. And make you naked before him. And naked before one another. Don't. Put a pretense on. You say. How do I do that? We're closing. John. The book of John. Chapter. Chapter twelve. John chapter twelve. Listen carefully. God says. I resist the proud. But give grace to the humble. God. Could not deal with Israel. When they were. Listen. When they were delivered out of Egypt. You know why they didn't go into the land of Canaan? They refused to become naked before God. They refused to become vulnerable. They refused to let God. Deliver them from all of the coverings that they had. You know. The coverings of. Self-righteousness. And human strength. And human wisdom. The covering of. Wanting to have their flesh satisfied. God says. Oh. Now if you would only be naked before me. Confess your wretched condition. Then I will do a miracle in your life. And I'll change you. They refused. So God says. All right. Fine. Now watch this. Verse twenty. Chapter twelve. John. And there were certain Greeks among them. That came up to worship. And they came to Philip. Which was of Bethsaida of Galilee. And desired him saying. Sir. We would see Jesus. Now remember where we're going here. We've got people who want to see Jesus. So Philip comes and tells Andrew. And again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. Now you would think that the response of Jesus would be. Do you have a comb Andrew? Where are they? I'll go out and talk to them. But see Jesus wasn't hung up on himself like we are. Jesus knew. The only way the father wanted the world to see him. Wasn't through Jesus coming on the scene. Then and revealing himself. But it was another way. This is what our brother Alan. And David were talking about this morning. Then Jesus answered and said. The hour has come that the son of man should be glorified. Why is Jesus talking about his death. When somebody wants to see him. Because Jesus knew the only way the world would see him. Is if he died. Now watch this. David you talked about a seed didn't you? You talked about a seed has to what? Lose its identity and be crushed. And then out of that seed. The life of that seed brings forth. Well Jesus. Jesus is that seed. He's that seed. Watch what happens. Verily I say unto you. Except a corn of wheat. A kernel of wheat. Now Jesus is talking about himself now. Except a kernel of wheat fall into the ground and die. It abides alone. You see if Jesus never died. He would be the only son. That was pleasing in the eyes of the father. He would be the only son. But see God in his infinite wisdom said. It's not good that man should what? Dwell alone. It's not good that I only have one son. I want a family of sons and daughters. I want a whole company of people. That will be just like my son. But in order for that to happen. We have to have what? The law of sowing and reaping. We have to have the law of planting. But if it die. It brings forth much fruit. He that loves his life. Shall lose it. To love our life. Is to refuse to let God bring us into nakedness. And to preserve our pride. Preserve our self will. Preserve our own ideals. That contradict God. Preserve our face. You know. Make our self look good. That's how we seek to save our life. But here's what Jesus said. He that loves his life. Shall lose it. And he that hates his life. In this world. Shall keep it unto eternal life. The call of the Holy Spirit is this. We see Jesus. He died. The kernel of wheat broke. But out of that breaking. His life was imputed. To those who believe. Now we are called. To die. Not to save our life. But to lose it. Our life of sin. Our life of self righteousness. All that is in us. That is contrary. To the life that's in the son of God. If we lose that life. We shall find it. That is. He shall become our life. The only way that happens. Is as we are subject to the discipline of God. And the chastening of God. And we are humbled. And made. To be obedient. To his work. And not allow the pride in our heart. To resist. When we have to be humbled. Brothers and sisters. Adam and Eve. Were naked. And unashamed. There is a company of people. Who are gonna arise. Before he appears. Who are going to be naked. Spiritually. And unashamed. Filled. With the divine righteousness and glory of Jesus Christ. Humble. Broken. Who will not speak of themselves. But the glory of the father. And through these people. The Lord. Will convince the world. That Jesus. Is truly the Christ. This is not religious unity. It is not organizational unity. It is not denominational unity. It is organic unity. It is the same life. That is inherent in the son. Exploding. In a company of people. Who have died. Gone down into death. And have risen in the likeness of his. Very life. This. Takes time. This. Takes men and women. Walking together. With one another. Under the headship of Christ. But if we will not think. We will see. The glory of God. Do you believe this? Hallelujah to God. I hate to be abrupt. But we do have to go. I've run a little late. Please help us. With getting things together.
