I want you to keep your eyes on Jesus. Please keep your eyes on Jesus. Don't be disturbed by anything else. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Would you say those words? Keep your eyes on Jesus. Write it in your notebooks. If you've got a refrigerator at home, scribble it on the front of it. Keep your eyes on Jesus. How many of you think God is bigger than the devil? I want you to know that. I want you to believe that. Keep your eyes on Jesus. And He'll get you through any situation. I don't care what it is. He'll get you through. He's the God of the universe. He is able. Our God is able. Eh? Our God is able. Oh, I've just had glorious time being here with you. Thanks, brother Berkey, for inviting me. I didn't know if I would come, if Jesus wanted me to come. But one morning, before I was wide enough awake to think my own dumb thoughts, there stood Jesus by my bed. And He said, I'll be with you at the Institute. And I, oh, you want me to go? And I just knew that I knew that I was supposed to be here. And He's been here. Is He back there? Oh, I love Him, don't you? Just one more time, can I hear you say His name? Jesus. Again. Jesus. And again. Jesus. I thank you so much. Thank you. And you know what the topic is supposed to be this morning? The Holy Ghost and the gifts. I'm glad in suggesting these topics, brother Berkey, always put the Holy Ghost first. Do you know by this time, without Him, we can do nothing? Do you know without Him, we don't know anything? You know, I told you about my black friend who says, leave them where the Lord done flung them. He says some of the richest things. He said to me one day, you know, I don't know nothing about nothing. That's the reason you're so rich in the things of God. Because all we know has to come to us by the precious Holy Spirit. I want you to appreciate the precious Holy Spirit. Without Him, we can do nothing. Without Him, we are nothing. I of myself can do nothing. Say it. I of myself can do nothing. We are so dependent on the precious Holy Spirit. Jesus knew that. That's the reason He's sitting. He knew how dumb we are. Dumb, stupid, ignorant. Isn't that a terrible tale to tell you that you're dumb and stupid and ignorant? Isn't that awful? Well, you are. And so am I about the things of God. All that we, any of us know, all that any of us know, was revealed to us by the precious Holy Spirit. You can hear things by the hearing of the ear, but you don't know the truth of it until it is revealed to you by the precious Holy Spirit. And then that has to be worked out in our life before we can really claim it as our own. Truth is not ours until it is personalized in our lives. We can quote all the scriptures about salvation, all of them in the Bible. That won't save us. We can quote them frontwards and backwards. That doesn't save us. We have to have the experience. Right? And then that truth is ours and we're saved. It's true with the baptism of the Spirit. Just knowing and being able to quote the scriptures doesn't baptize us. It has to be personalized in our lives. And then that truth becomes our personal possession and we know that we know that we know we've been baptized in the precious Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit. These are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They're not ours. They're not ours. None of us can claim them. You know, I go among some of these. I don't go to those groups. I'm sorry. But you know there are places, there are churches that are called Pentecostal. I don't belong there. They have the strangest teachings and doctrines. They'll come up with, Sister Hammond, how many gifts do you have? Are you asking me how many gifts I claim? Yeah, I'm sorry, but I don't have any. And yet I believe that all of the gifts have been in operation through my life. But they don't belong to us. They're not ours. They belong to the Holy Spirit. They're His. They're His. And we don't own one of them. Paul, who talks to us about the gifts, never claimed to have one gift. And yet we can see they're all in operation in His life. It is so necessary, necessary to be baptized in the Holy Spirit if we want the operation of the Holy Spirit, if we want the ministry of the Spirit, if we want the gifts of the Spirit, if we want the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit, they can only be manifested through a life that has been baptized with the precious Holy Spirit. How important it is, as I said, have those altar services. Get people baptized in the Holy Spirit and don't be satisfied until they get the real thing. Out of your innermost being shall flow what? Rivers. Honey, you contend for rivers and not a couple drops. I heard Earthly, she spoke three words in other tongues. Hallelujah, she has the baptism. I said, I don't believe it. Out of your innermost being will flow rivers, not just drops. Rivers, rivers, rivers. And this gusher of speaking in other tongues, this gusher that releases the life, that opens the Spirit, that releases and breaks us wide open that we can give ourselves to God. I want you to know reality and I want you to contend for reality in your churches. Every pastor says, I will. I love you. God bless you. God bless you. Oh, now concerning spirituals. Where's this found? Where? 1 Corinthians 12. Now concerning spirituals. I may as well tell you before I start, I have material enough for three hours. Is that okay with you? So I'm going to try to stick close to my nodes so I have no idea of holding you for three hours. Sit down, brother. I won't hold you for three hours. I want to just stick close to my nodes so I give you important things and don't hold this too long. Now concerning spirituals, spirituals, things of the Spirit, spiritual gifts, I would not have you ignorant. Oh, you know that you were Gentiles carried away into these dumb idols even as you were led. Wherefore I give you to understand that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit. There are differences of administration but the same Lord. There are diversities of operation but it's the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. To one is given by the Spirit a word of wisdom. To another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit. To another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit. He's emphasizing over and over and over and over. You've got to have the Holy Ghost. To another the working of miracles. To another prophecy. To another discerning of spirits. To another divers kind of tongues. To another the interpretation of tongues. All these worketh that one and the self same Spirit dividing to every man severally as he will. And then he uses the body and the members of the body as an illustration of how this is supposed to work. I'm so glad that Paul shares with us his dealings with the Corinthians in their uses and misuses of the gifts of the Spirit. It's so necessary. Wasn't Paul wise? How did he learn all this? Where did he get it? Where did he get it? He didn't even have a Bible. He didn't even have a Bible. Where did he get it? By the same Spirit. And if he got all of this by this same Holy Ghost honey, do you realize the wealth, the riches, the treasures that are ours in Christ Jesus if we appreciate and yield to the same Holy Ghost? Do you appreciate the Holy Spirit? Tell me. And I want you to appreciate him more and more and more. The poverty that's in our churches because we don't have the operation and the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit because so many pastors don't realize the wealth, the wealth that is ours in this marvelous baptism of the Holy Spirit. God does a marvelous thing in us when he baptizes us with the Spirit. I told you the real baptism of the Spirit baptizes the Holy Spirit. Our intellect. The Spirit, he says. Pray that you will have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. Oh, what wealth is ours. And in the gift of the baptism of the Spirit did you ever receive a box that was to be your birthday present? And you opened up that box and there were nine other small boxes inside of that box? Well, that's what happens here. We have the baptism this marvelous gift which is the promise of the Father and when we open it up we find out there are nine gifts inside the package and they're all at our disposal to minister to us to edify to build up to comfort to encourage to strengthen to meet the need in the assembly to minister to the whole as your members of the body ministers to the body. It's crippled if you don't have a hand. You're crippled if you don't have a foot and the hand can't say to the foot I don't need you and the foot can't say to the hand I don't need you and no member of the body can say to any other member I don't need you and the body certainly can't say to the head I don't need you. How many of you need your head? Well don't you think the church needs our head? Don't you think we need our head? The head of the church? And that's why, that's why I've said it before and I'll say it again Don't start your meetings in the body of Christ without opening that service by inviting the head to come but we sing 74, 35, 62 and have all our doings and down the road halfway through the meeting Oh, I remember I do have a head. Oh Jesus, well thank you you said we're two or three together you'd be there and we thank you that you're here and then the death, the poverty because we don't know that we need our head but he's the head of the assembly he's the head of the church if there's any vision it's in the head if there's any hearing it's in the head the word of life comes from the head Invite the head to come we must have the ministry So open your meetings by inviting the head to come Oh, oh and when he comes, isn't it different? Isn't it different? But nothing happens till he gets there Have you ever been present when he really came? Whoo There's a great big church a great big church in our Assemblies of God that has, oh it seats I don't know I don't get along with numbers I don't know much about it but right down here in front is just this, not more than 20 people and the pianist has arthritis and so she goes like this poor darling, she's doing her best and they invited me to come well, Jesus said you go you go, so I went and saw these most of them elderly people sitting down here in the front and the dear pianist began to play Ah, the pastor turned the service over to me and I said, do you mind if I I'd like to sing another song because I can't handle this I can't get along in a service any time until he comes so I said I want to sing Come Thou Almighty King Let's sing Come Thou Almighty King We sang the first verse and sang Come blessed Holy Spirit Come three in one Come and I sang that thing I sang it I sang it I've got to have you Lord Where are you? Come Come, come, come I can't do anything until you get here Honey, as sure as you're there, I'm here He came in that door and he let me see him come down that aisle and I said to those people Jesus just came He's here in the aisle and those people just bowed towards that aisle by the Spirit to worship him Oh, there happened to be a big a big name evangelist walked in the back he says, I'm going over there and see what Sister Hammond will do with that big church and that little crowd so he was sitting in the back and oh, everybody turned towards him Jesus, it was, his presence was everywhere The next night that big fella was having a big rally in the city and all the Christians were there so he went around and he said I wish you were at Bethel Temple last night Jesus came I wish you were there Jesus was there and he talked on a little while in his sermon It was wonderful at Bethel Temple last night Jesus was there and he talked on a little further Oh, that you had been in Bethel Temple last night when Jesus came Jesus was there Honey, he gave me thousands of dollars worth of advertising He really did The next night all those people were in Bethel Temple That same marvelous presence was there and we went on for three weeks the place filled night after night and that marvelous presence stayed with us service after service You know dear, Jesus always has the key to any and every situation Oh, isn't he wonderful? Oh, I can't get along without him All these gifts Paul's Paul shared with us the gifts are in the body The body, of course, is the church Then we have to know what is the church What is the church anyhow? What is the church? You know dear, I have to deal with reality with reality I know there are problems in our assemblies of God I know that But if you pastors will deal with realities your problems are all solved I'm going to ask you again How many of you think God is bigger than the devil? You don't have to worry Get in touch with God He can handle any Goliath He knows the answer He has the strategy He can get in there and solve the problem My God says, with God anything can happen Nothing is impossible Nothing We just say, oh God can do anything That's not what it says It says, with God anything can happen So you've got to get in union and oneness with Him and then things will happen So first of all, what is the church? What is the church? Again, Paul tells us what the church is Second Corinthians, the fifth chapter and the seventeenth verse says If any man be in Christ he is a new creation All things are passed away Behold, all things are become new Only those are in the church no matter how many people sit in the pew Only those are the church who are really and truly new creatures in Christ Jesus New creation They have to be born again They have to be new creations People in whom the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set them free from the law of sin and death and they're out of that old strategy and that old creation and they are new creatures in Christ Jesus Really born again Do you know what happened to you when you were born again? You've got to know this You've got to know what really happened to you when you were born again If you don't, the rest of your life you'll be trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together and how does this fit with this and how does this Christian life all go together and that is the majority of our problems and our trouble You have to know what happened to you when you were really born again Peter, the first chapter, turn to it Turn to 1 Peter The very first chapter, the 23rd verse Being born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever Now look at it, underscore it Remember it, pray over it Being born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever You've got to know that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus and your church members are new creatures in Christ Jesus because God cannot do anything with the old creation It's full of the law of sin and death It's a corruptible thing It is slated for corruption It's no good to God unless it is changed and that person is redeemed and made a new creation A new creature The church of Jesus Christ is a new thing in the world A new creation A new tribe of people A new creation type of people born of incorruptible seed Alright, I want to show you something We have three lives that we live and I'm not talking about reincarnation We have three lives that we live The first life is the result of corruptible seed Corrupt A little tiny eeny weeny seed that you could get hundreds of them on the end of your finger That little tiny seed was the beginning of you Right? Say yes Are you with me? Don't go to sleep Don't get tired If you do, just stand up and sit down Yes The beginning of you was a little tiny eeny weeny seed But inside that seed was everything that you are today Is that right? In that seed was your eyes In that seed was your ears Your brain Your heart Your liver Your lungs Your mind Your arms Your legs Was all in that little eeny weeny tiny seed It just had to grow It had to develop It had to mature That little life Your first life was nine months long And during that nine months You were fed You were warm You were clothed You were happy Why didn't they leave us alone? You were growing, growing arms and legs You were growing organs You were growing a brain You were developing eyes You were getting ready for another life And the word of God said When that which is perfect is come That which is in part is done away And when that little nine month old came to maturity That old envelope was thrown in the garbage And this little new life came into another world to live That's our second life Here we are And we found out after a while We needed those legs to walk on We needed those hands And you found out they were worth To be something to be used more than to bite on And you had eyes to see And you came into this world You're here, you're here But all that you are now And if you live to be a hundred years old The doctor is not going to inject something more into you All that you ever need is in that little eensy seed And here you are Well this is our second existence But honey this isn't the real thing Are you sure it's right? You agree? Alright, alright This isn't the real thing We're only given in this second phase Three score year and ten And in this three score year and ten God just gives us this short life Time in this second phase For us to make our decisions Make our choices To become a bed Human nature becomes a seed bed For another seed to be planted in us And this other seed is an incorruptible seed Which is the word of God Who's the word of God? Yes? Yes? And so human nature just becomes a seed bed For another seed to be planted in us And that other seed that's planted in us Is the Christ The Holy Christ The Holy Christ Paul got the revelation And we hear him screaming out the revelation in Galatians Christ liveth in me Christ liveth in me Christ is in me Christ liveth in me I live yet not I Christ liveth in me The life that I live I don't live it by any other power But the power of the Holy Christ that lives in me Listen to me Are you listening? Are you listening, honey? Thank you, please get it This is the most important message you will ever hear Christ lives in me Christ lives in me Listen, dear The old you is not you anymore Would you say those words? The old you is not you anymore Write that in your notebook The old me is not me anymore There's a new life has come into me There's another seed sown in the soil of my life Jesus Christ came into me This is the new birth This is what happens in the new birth It's not just thank the Lord for forgiving my sins Honey, that is an Old Testament experience In the Old Testament you could go up to the temple and the synagogue And take your little lamb And have your sins forgiven So, when I ask people in my meetings Tell me, let's have a testimony They told me, I like to have testimony meetings You know where people are You know what they're thinking You're able to help them I thank the Lord for forgiving my sins Is that all you have? Just the forgiveness of sins? That's an Old Testament experience You're not even a New Testament Christian Well, my sins are forgiven Yes, honey, you could have that in the Old Testament It's more than making a decision It's more than praying the sinner's prayer Don't let those people leave the altar If you want the real church of Jesus Christ in your church Don't let them leave that altar Until they are born again And are a new creation in Christ Jesus Then old things pass away That old dependence on the old life passes away We are a new creation A new creature Jesus Christ lives in me And listen to me Listen, honey The real you now Is not the old John The old Mary The old person that used to live on the things of this world Satisfy the flesh Follow the desires of the natural man And do all of these things that the natural man does There's another person living inside of me Jesus Christ has come in Jesus Christ is formed in me Those who backslid Paul says, I pray for you Until Jesus Christ is formed in you And now listen to me The Christ in you Is the life that God has his eyes on And is concerned about Your spirituality Depends on how much you let Jesus Christ live in you How much he's matured Just like this corruptible seed Grew and grew and grew Until you are what you are now Forty, fifty, sixty years old The Christ inside began in you In an incorruptible seed Listen to me dear Inside that incorruptible seed Planted in your heart and life Listen Is all that God will ever ask of you Will ever require of you Throughout the countless ages of eternity In Christ in you He's building eyesight too Spiritual eyes He's building spiritual legs To walk in the spirit He's building spiritual ears To hear by the hearing of the spirit I want to tell you dear When God looks at you Now, when he looks on you He will say to you John, turn around Let me see my son in you I want to see how he's growing I want to see how he's maturing I want to see if you're nourishing him I want to see if he's developing in you Isn't this what the gifts are for? Until we all come to that maturity In his image That doesn't mean we have a nose like he has And ears like he has But his spiritual likeness and image Feed, feed the Christ in you Feed that holy thing in you Honey, any urge that's in you to pray For God's sake pray That's the Christ in you Hungering to commune with his own father When you read this word Feed on this word This is the nourishment for that man inside of you Feed on the word of God Do what it says Jesus said, what was his nourishment? My meat and my drink is to do the will Of him that sent me Find out what his will is Walk in it, walk in it, walk in it I want to tell you, I want to tell you something When the rapture takes place And Jesus Christ comes for his own You know what will go? I want, please hear this You know what will go? The only thing that will go Is whatever Jesus Christ has developed to inside of you This flesh, this flesh we sing This robe of flesh I'll drop and rise I'll drop off the old natural man God doesn't have any use for the old natural man He doesn't in any way adjust or conform There's nothing in him that fellowships with the living God All in you that fellowships with the living God Is the Christ inside of you Where are you in growth? In development In Jesus Christ In you When Jesus comes, I'll say it again When Jesus comes All that will go Is the Christ inside of you And the rest drops off Is left behind, there's no use for it It doesn't in any way fit into the new order of things In this realm of the spirit This is what happened to you When you were born again You received the living Christ A new seed, the new man The new man, Christ Jesus The new man God does things for us So he can do things in us In us In us On that seed that's planted in you On that seed he pours out the latter rain When you plant a garden and you plant seed in that garden The first thing you want to happen, you want it to rain On that seed And our Father did too Jesus knew how important it was And he says, the very first order of business When I get home, I will pray the Father To send you the Holy Ghost The first order of business He realized that seed must have rain And then with the latter rain The precious Holy Ghost on that holy seed If we yield to the spirit of life In Christ Jesus within us Anything can happen What is the church? The church are these Jesus people People in whom Jesus Christ has been formed And that's why I can say The old you isn't you anymore God doesn't deal with the old you Only to get rid of it To take it to the cross To crucify the flesh He's done with it, get rid of that thing And now we're getting ready for the real thing And he's coming soon, dear He's really coming soon For his church These are the very last days We're having our last opportunities To make our decisions for him To make our choices To make our surrenders And I want to say to you God is dealing with you about anything To surrender, for God's sake surrender If he's dealing with you to make any commitment For God's sake make that commitment Throw yourself into God You can trust him in any situation And God will see you through He will, I know it I could tell you miracle after miracle after miracle That God has performed for me In situations where only God could handle things There are times lawyers can't help you There are times your families can't help you There are times counselors can't help you There's times medication can't help you God save us from depending on tranquilizers Tranquilizers are only ground up demons That's all they are, they can't help you So when you receive Jesus Christ When you receive Jesus Christ Listen to me This is the beginning of God This is the beginning of God's life in you This is the beginning of God in you And this is who you will be Throughout the countless ages of eternity We make our choices and decisions And stake off our claim down here I was in a church The preacher was preaching on the coming of the Lord Fifteen hundred people at least there And the preacher says I don't want you to be uptight Don't be uptight saints Don't be uptight And I knew right then that preacher wasn't even in the race He didn't know anything about it Don't be uptight saints When Jesus comes You know we will be changed on the way up To meet him And if you aren't all you're supposed to be You will be changed on the way up What false doctrine How terrible, terrible To tell those people that And let them go out Let them go out and live in the flesh Live in the flesh, satisfy the flesh Do what they want to do Do what they want to do I heard another preacher say Do what you want to do And if you sin Then you can ask God to forgive you And he's a God of love He'll forgive you But do what you want to do Oh God in heaven Have mercy on us in this hour This is why I'm so happy to be with you To give you direction People are saying Pastors are saying to me We don't know what to do We don't know what to go We're in confusion I say honey I know it I know it I want to give you direction There is reality There is reality Get to God Get into God Pray, pray, pray Hours of prayer Get along with God In this precious word God will answer your prayers And come to you and help you We do need wisdom God knows we need wisdom But you can pray I love Ephesians That first chapter of Ephesians Pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation In the knowledge of him to be upon you That's the best wisdom we can have That's the best wisdom we can have When the precious spirit of wisdom and revelation I love that verse It's one of my favorite verses in the whole Bible Ephesians 1, 17 Underscore it with red pencil Right in your notebook Ephesians 1, 17 Pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ The Father of glory May give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation In the knowledge of him The eyes of your understanding be enlightened That ye may know what is the hope of his calling And what the riches of the glory Of his inheritance in his saints Isn't that rich? Isn't that rich? But that's ours That's ours Everything in this book Is for us It's ours We can have it Oh What are these gifts for? What are they for? The purpose of the gifts 1 Corinthians 12, 7 To profit with awe 1 Corinthians 14, 3 He that prophesies speaketh unto men to edification, exhortation, and comfort 1 Corinthians 14, 4 He that prophesies edifies the church Ephesians 4, 11, 13 What are they for? For the perfecting of the saints For the work of the ministry For the edifying of the body of Christ Till we all come in the unity of the spirit And the knowledge of the Son of God Unto a perfect man Unto that full stature that he wants And that's what happens in the new birth You have the germ You have the seed You have the Christ inside of you And it's the Christ in us who grows and matures And comes into the full stature Jesus can only be satisfied with himself And his own nature And this is what he gives to us And he wants a bride just like himself And this is how the bride of Christ will be Just like himself She'll be what he is Because of that incorruptible seed The seed of the word of God dropped into us That we feed and nourish And the Christ in us to grow To grow I know the old man is still there I know that how well we all know it And we'll never get rid of him until we get out of here To me, to me, you know Our worst enemy is our carnal mind This carnal mind That's our worst enemy All sin, all unholiness, all unrighteousness Begins in the carnal mind We think it before we do it And so when the thought comes When the thought first comes You say, I'm not going to do it So I'm not going to think it Say amen I'm not going to think it Rebuke the thought And to me, the most marvelous thing about the rapture On this side of the cloud Will be to get rid of the carnal mind Do you ever feel like you'd like to pull down the zipper And get out And get released Get out, get released Get out of this, this human thing This natural, this carnal thing That we can't get rid of We've got this old man with us One of our missionaries tell us that One of the natives came to him And he said, Sob There's something wrong He says, I know I'm a Christian I know I'm a Christian But he says, it's like there's two dogs inside of me And they're fighting One's a good dog and one's a bad dog And these dogs are fighting And I don't know what to do about it And the missionary said, Well Which dog is winning? And the native thought about it for a little while And he says, The one I'm feeding He's the one that's winning Do you understand parables? Yeah So feed the Christ Feed the new man Feed him and starve the flesh Starve the old man Starve that carnal thing Starve him out Have nothing to do with him The moment he lifts his head And you know that's carnality That's flesh Rebuke it Be done with it And move with Christ And live in him Amen Oh, wisdom Yeah Solomon says, Wisdom is the important thing Therefore get wisdom Therefore get wisdom You know there's only one Holy Ghost Only one And this same Holy Ghost that baptized you and me This is the Holy Ghost that was upon Those old prophets Those old prophets This is the same Holy Ghost That gave them the wisdom they had to move as they did It was the Holy Ghost on Isaiah Wasn't, don't you love Isaiah? Don't you love Isaiah? It was the Holy Ghost on Isaiah It was the Holy Ghost on Jeremiah On Elijah It was the Holy Ghost on Jesus Jesus didn't come to us as son of God He came as son of man Born a little eensy weensy tiny baby Had humbled himself to become nothing more than a seed in a virgin's womb When he was born he didn't know any more than you know His mother taught him And then the Holy Ghost began to talk to him Oh, what happened those nights out there in the mountain Alone with his father He was being taught You and I depend on the Holy Ghost Jesus came to show us how we could live And move in God Like he did Only he didn't have a fallen nature like we have We know when the gifts are manifest through us Jesus will always be glorified He'll never exalt a personality He will always exalt the Lord Jesus Christ Wisdom and knowledge really go together And we see it I like to use Joseph Joseph, God revealed to Joseph What was going to happen There'll be seven years of plenty and there'll be seven years of famine He had that knowledge and then God gave him wisdom to know what to do about it Alright God gave to John Out on the Isle of Patmos He gave him knowledge of the condition of the churches The seven churches And then he gave him wisdom to know what to do about it I want to tell you men who are opening churches And you say, I don't know what to do Where do I start? I don't know what to do Honey, remember you got a head Remember you got a head Say yes And the head of the church has the key to every city and every village He knows exactly what to do And if you wait on him If you wait on him If you wait on him He'll show you exactly what to do He'll answer these problems I promise you In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ He's got the key to every city He will show you what to do Any problem that you have He is wisdom In him dwells all the fullness of wisdom and knowledge Which really says he knows all there is to know on every subject Your car goes wrong What do you do? You're out on the highway 50 miles from a garage and the car goes wrong What do you do? Tell me what you do You pray So you make Jesus a mechanic Yes You make him a mechanic Will you come and fix this car? He's a pretty good mechanic And he comes and fixes your car You women are sewing And things are going crooked And you rip and you sew and you rip and you sew and you rip What do you do? Jesus help me You make a seamstress out of him And he comes and helps you You're baking a cake And you want it to come out right Like one of our missionaries in Russia It was her husband's birthday And she says Father I'd love to give John a cake I must give John a cake She says all I have in the house is flour and water Oh God won't you please She stirred up flour and water And put it in a cake pan And put it in the oven Left it in there for 30-45 minutes When she opened the oven door And pulled out the cake It had vanilla in it It had salt in it It had everything in there Everything She pulled out a perfect cake He ain't saying anything Do you think he can supply salt and vanilla and everything? Yeah In him All the wisdom The riches of wisdom and knowledge He can We say oh God can do anything No it says with God All things are possible With him Gotta get with him One with him He gives us wisdom All of us need wisdom All of us need to know what to do I could tell you stories I've opened three churches One church that I opened Jesus said I want a church in Norristown, Pennsylvania I want you to go over to Norristown And I'll be with you I want a church there Go over there and give yourself to prayer and fasting That's what I did And to shorten the story One day Jesus said to me Let's go for a walk And I thought it wouldn't be so bad to go for a walk with Jesus And so I left the room And Jesus and I walked down the street And we turned and walked on And came to a red light And I stopped as you usually do A man came up beside me Isn't this a lovely day? I said yes This is the day Jesus is giving us today And he said Jesus, do you know him? Yes, I love Jesus Will you come to my house and tell us about Jesus? My wife and I want to get saved And we don't know what to do If she calls me I'll come So I went to their house And they invited me for dinner Before we sat down for dinner He says wait a minute Just wait a minute Don't talk until I get back And he went out You know in that Philadelphia area How the houses are built a block at a time And he went out the door And went down the block Rang every door But get up to my house Get up to my house as fast as you can Don't ask why, just get up there And I came up the street on the other side Get over to my house Come right away Don't ask why Please just get up there And when he came back He had about 12 people with him I don't remember eating the dinner We pushed back the food And I began to tell them about Jesus This was my congregation And then Jesus said Now you go down to There's a Methodist church In the center of the city And those Methodists have gone out And built another church You go down to bank And rent that church So I went down And here I could hardly see Through the window I want to talk to the vice president And they brought him on And I said Sir, I'd like to rent that Methodist church That you people own When those other groups left And you took over that church Could I rent it? And he looked at me What would you do with the church? I said Sir, I want to preach there I want to tell the people about Jesus He said You're going to preach there? I said Yes sir Well he says How many people do you have? And I said Well I don't have any people yet But they'll come sir I promise you they'll come They'll come And who's going to pay the rent? I'll pay the rent Jesus is with me And he'll help me pay the rent Would you please rent me this church? And Jesus He looked at me You want to rent a church? You're going to pay the rent You don't have any people This is something He says I'll rent you the Methodist church For one dollar a month It's got an organ, a piano Hymn books Cushion pews For one dollar a month And this group that sent They brought into the home These were my first people And the Lord Just prophesied through me That day And I said You come You come I'm going to have services Sunday afternoon And I told them about the baptism of the Spirit I said If you will come I promise you You will see somebody receive the baptism of the Spirit And I said When I got back to my room I said Jesus I didn't say that I didn't say that I didn't say somebody would receive the baptism I don't know who's going to be there I don't know if anybody said it Jesus You said that I didn't You said that I didn't You said that Somebody would get the baptism That service came And here we were And this group were my first people And I spoke to them The first sermon was on the baptism of the Holy Spirit And then I said I don't know you folks But would any of you like to have this experience? And a beautiful, well-dressed woman came Knelt at the altar The only one that came And she said Yes, I would like to have this experience And I laid hands on her And prayed for her And God baptized her in the Holy Ghost Marvelous baptism of the Spirit When it was over I said Honey, would you please tell me your name? And she said I am Mrs. DuPont Hallelujah Mrs. DuPont Hallelujah God has the answer God knows exactly what to do Get in touch with God He has wisdom And He has knowledge And He has everything else that we need I could spend just a lot of time on that Faith Faith Let's look at faith Faith cometh by hearing Thee Thee Word of God When God speaks That word of faith into your heart You know that you know that you know that you know Faith It was my privilege to visit Lillian Trasher Does that name mean anything to you? Lillian Trasher It was my privilege to visit her And faith I really saw faith in action One day here they had hundreds and hundreds of orphans And I think 200 widows And all these hundreds and hundreds of orphans And somebody came in and says Mama G, there's no food We have no food whatsoever And she says Well, alright you tell the children to pray Go and tell the widows to pray And we'll pray here Well, Brother Ernest Williams and Sister Williams And Daddy Welch Who was President of the Bible College in Springfield We went out and visited Sister Trasher And we She said Now folks, let's pray There's no food for all these children Oh, I said Father, I wanted to see this I wanted to see this And we She, when we knelt She says Brother Williams, will you pray? Well, if you knew Brother Williams Dear, precious man of God He would When he was really getting through He would shake his head Oh, God And he prayed Daddy Welch, will you pray? Daddy Welch prayed I wanted to hear her pray Because she had made a covenant with God She says God, I'll take care of these children But you have to be the husband And the husband supplies the needs And supplies the food And I'll take care of the children I'll wash their faces And take care of their snotty nose And wash their diapers And everything else But you've got to supply the food And she said That was my covenant with God And he had put that in her heart And I wanted to hear her pray So when they were through praying She did pray Now, Father Your children Don't have any bread And you are the father of these children And there's no bread There's no food in this place And I'm trusting you to send us food And I thank you for food Amen Let's get up And so we got up And it wasn't five minutes, I guess Until the bell rang on the gate And the servant came in He says Mama G Baker baked too many loaves last night Much bread left over He wants to know Could you use bread? She said Tell him to drive in And here was our bread Next five minutes The gate rang again And the servant came Mama G The wind last night Brought down many, many, many oranges The man wants to know Could we use oranges? She said Just tell him to drive in And things began to happen Faith in operation When God Faith cometh by hearing The Word of God And when God puts His Word in your heart You can stand on that Word You don't open the Bible and find it yourself You don't say Oh, let me see Oh, this No, that doesn't fit And then you lose America No, that's not right Judas went out and hung himself That doesn't fit But God gives you a Word And you know it's going to happen You just know that you know It's going to happen A little woman sat down Here in front of me The meeting was dismissed Everybody was gone But this black woman And I could not leave the platform So I just went back and sat in the chair And the Spirit of the Lord said to me He healed all who came to Him I said, yes, yes, yes, Lord So the pastor's wife came down the aisle And I said to her That black woman wants something What is it she wants? And she looked it up at me And she said Oh, Sister Emma, you must be tired She wants prayer But she can come back and be prayed for tonight I said, you bring her to me And so she came up on the platform And the Lord had already said He healed all who came So when she came up I said, sit down here, honey And she sat down in the platform chair beside me And I laid my hands over Fully knowing God had spoken I had His word And I said, honey In the name of Jesus Christ of Calvary You're healed I know you're healed Later on, I learned who she was You know that fella in Uganda That killed all those people Idi Amin You remember that? Old Idi Amin This woman was the wife Of Idi Amin's personal physician When he was killing off everybody His physician and his wife Went through the forest Eating berries and roots and leaves And her stomach was in a terrible condition And here they were in my meetings And this poor dear suffering And Jesus healed that woman of her condition What about the gifts of healing? Oh, I love that I love that When there's gifts of healing And these gifts should be operating in the church And it is so beautiful to see God use members of the church To minister to other members of the church In the gifts of healing I was preaching And in the midst of my sermon Right down here a woman stood up And she stood up and waved her hand Like a child in school And I kept on preaching And she stood there waving her hand And I said Honey, do you want something? She said Sister Hammond, may I testify? I thought Well, I'm preaching She said I feel the Lord wants me to testify Alright, I said If it's God, you testify And she says Five years ago And I thought Oh dear And she sat there And she talked on and on and on About the symptoms And what was wrong with her And so on And she just talked on and on For a couple minutes And after a while Over here on this side of the church And I said Now what's happening over here? And she said Jesus just healed me Jesus just healed me She said I have gallbladder trouble And I was beginning to have a gallbladder attack And I just told my husband He had to take me out of the meeting I was having a gallbladder attack But when that lady began to testify Oil started coming down on my head And I was so afraid She stopped talking Before that oil flowed down Hit my gallbladder And that oil flowed down Finally hit the gallbladder She was absolutely healed Well, and of course They could both sit down And the meeting went on And she didn't have to leave the service Here's the gifts of healing One member of the church Ministering to another When the need arose in the assembly Isn't it beautiful the way God does things? It's so beautiful He works Ministers All kinds of gifts of healing And then Can I touch on miracles? Can I touch on miracles? How many of you have ever seen a miracle? How many of you would like to see one this morning? Alright dear How many of you would like to be a miracle? Would you like to be a miracle? To be a miracle Is certainly more than seeing a miracle And this is what God wants God is a miracle working God To be a miracle is worth more than seeing a miracle If we were all healed If all of our eyes were opened If all of our If you grow arms and legs on people It doesn't matter what happens That body will go back to dust But it is what happens in us In the spirit That is eternal The spirit is more important to God Than the body The spirit will live on eternally So God God is a miracle working God And God's His best miracles are wrought in the lives of his people God can perform miracles in the lives of preachers Say yes Yes he can Yes he can And I want to tell you this I want to tell you this miracle that God wrought When I was asked to go to this church I did not want to go I knew the program in that church I knew how things moved in that church I did not want to go I bawled about it I didn't want to go And the Lord spoke to my heart If you will go I will be with you God told me The people will leave you You will be persecuted in that place They will turn against you I want you to go I want you to go for two weeks And if you will stay for two weeks I will perform miracles The people will all come back And I'll take care of everything If you'll just go and stay there for two weeks And that's the time he asked me for two weeks So I had to say I would go And God gave me an intercessor to go there with me Well that fella advertised me I tell you he had my picture on every telephone pole Any way that you turn I was in the newspaper I walked on my own face down the street in the rain He had advertised me He advertised me as the biggest little Bible teacher in the world Yes he did Yes he did The biggest little Bible teacher in the world There's nobody like this Bible teacher Yuckity yuck yuck yuck And so it was And when the first service came The Lord said to me I want you to preach on I am crucified with Christ Nevertheless I live yet not I Christ liveth in me And I said Father You don't begin meetings preaching on I'm crucified with Christ If you want a revival And preach on the cross and crucifixion In the first service you don't do that Father Well I want you to do it And nothing happens unless you obey you know So I went and opened my Bible I tell you In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ And I prayed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Please come and help me That place was packed and jammed with chairs down the aisle They had come to hear this biggest little Biggest thing in the world And here they were And God had told me they'd leave me And I preached on I am crucified with Christ And I could feel the temperature going down As the service went on I could feel I could see the restlessness I could feel their spirit I could feel the preacher behind me Sometimes you know I could feel his spirit What's going on here Well Sunday, Monday night, Tuesday night rather There weren't that many people The balconies were empty Wednesday night there were fewer Thursday night the choir told him They weren't coming back Friday night the orchestra said Don't look for us anymore We're not sitting through this We don't want this This crucifying of the flesh thing We don't want this We don't want this The orchestra left me Sitting down here in the front There was three or four women Who came up to me And they said Sister Hammond We have prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed That God would perform a miracle And would change this whole situation Oh please don't leave us Please, please We will pray, we'll fast and pray We'll do anything If you'll just stay with us Please don't go Came the second Sunday morning And before we went into the church The pastor said to me Are you staying another week I said Sir, you invited me for two weeks Yes, I'll stay another week So we went into the church And when he made the announcements This is word for word what he said He made announcements And he says Get that man out of the chair And there he was stretched out on the platform The preacher The preacher God just slew him Flung him out there And there he lay And I thought what did I do What did I do And the power of God Came into that church Came into that church And people began to scream And ran out of this The few that were I don't suppose there's more than 30 people there They ran They ran down to the altar And began to scream and cry to God to help them And so I just slid down behind the desk And hid myself here And said God just go on Do whatever you're doing God I don't know what But do whatever you're doing And here was this preacher Stretched out here on the platform And he was saying Oh God Oh God I didn't know you were like this God I didn't know you were this kind of a God God I didn't know you Oh God I didn't I didn't know you And God had just pinned him down there He had a real Saul of Tarsus experience On the road to Damascus God just pinned him down there And dealt with that preacher It was between 2 and 3 o'clock in the afternoon Before that fellow could get up from there And finally when he did get up He came to me and said I'm going to resign the pastor And he said I'm not fit to take these people on in God I'm going to resign You take the church You take the people on I'm going to resign I said indeed you're not going to resign You never were so fit to take the people on Now that you know who God is I didn't know God was like this I didn't know he was this kind of a God I said yes God is a holy God We're dealing with a holy God And you didn't know him That's the reason you opposed me the way you did That's the reason you've acted the way you have You didn't know God Who God is And God in his mercy Is showing himself to you That's the reason some pastors act the way they do They don't know God They don't know the Holy Ghost They don't know who God really is They don't understand They don't know They don't know And I tell you word got around Of what had happened in that morning service And Sunday night The choir was back Because in the afternoon They came to where I was being living In a home I was living Sister Hammond will you forgive me Sister Hammond will you forgive me Oh yes honey You're forgiven Come on and sing The choir The orchestra Will you forgive me I want to come back Come on back Come on back I had my orchestra I had my choir The people came back And oh God moved Honey this is what I say Would you Do you want to see a miracle Or do you want to be a miracle Are you willing for God to take you in hands Huh Fling you around a little bit And give you a revelation of yourself Until you really know Who God is Are you willing for this What happened The meetings went on for five weeks God sent such a revival Such healings One woman God created A new stomach In her body She'd come just from the hospital Where the doctor had operated on an ulcer And told her she'd have to live on On liquids the rest of her life And she came and said Oh oh pray for me Pray for me She came to one of our prayer meetings We prayed for her And she said Oh please excuse me I'll have to go to the restroom She went to the restroom And passed her old stomach Picked it up in her hands And carried it to the doctor And asked him what this was He said lady that's your stomach And there were where the old stitches were And she says I'm so hungry She called me on the phone I'm hungry I'm just so hungry I said if I were you I'd start with some bouillon or something Light soup She said bouillon nothing I want something to eat I said what do you want She said I want a steak I said okay In Jesus name And I'm telling you In Jesus name Her first meal was steak and baked potatoes With her brand new stomach God that is the creative power of God That word went out over the city Went out over the city A Baptist church heard about it The Baptist came I had to send for another evangelist To come and help me Because we had to have two meetings every night In that church I was upstairs He was downstairs They'd get saved upstairs Go down there and get the baptism Or go down there and Yes And God God Oh Five weeks We had a brand new pastor We had a brand new orchestra We had a brand new choir And God was doing his work In that whole congregation And the whole city Knew about it That Jesus Christ was passing by I believe in miracles Don't you? Yes And this I'm supposed to preach on prophecy I told you I could keep you for three hours But prophecy is like You speak just like you speak in tongues Only it comes out in English And your brain doesn't have anything to do with it And I tell you that is a marvelous experience The real thing I was in Dearborn, Michigan on Easter morning And I felt an unusual touch of the spirit But I didn't know he was going to do this And I read the scripture He showed himself alive And that's the last word that came from my brain And the Holy Ghost took over And the rest of it Oh, I was listening to what was coming out of my mouth And I said, oh, Jesus, that's so beautiful Jesus, that's so beautiful And it was like speaking in tongues Only it was coming out in English Pure, pure Not prophesying of what's going to happen We've had that kind of prophecy That Mussolini was going to be the Antichrist And Hitler was going to be the Antichrist Now Gorbachev is going to be the Antichrist And so it goes, no But real prophecy You remember 13th of Corinthians says It's as though I prophesy And understand all mysteries So prophecy has to do with the mysteries Of the word of God Unlocking them, unfolding them Revelation coming to us And when the prophets prophesied The word says all the prophets prophesied of Him When Mary prophesied Mary and Elizabeth, what a time they must have had Mary prophesied was all about Jesus When Elizabeth prophesied was all about Jesus The mysteries of God The gifts of the Spirit are the gifts of the Holy Spirit They're in the Spirit, they're operated by the Spirit The manifestation is so of the Spirit Everybody knows this is the real thing And it's God, it's God Real interpretation is not Oh my, some interpretations are frightening I the Lord thy God am in your midst And I say to you If that was true, ever one of us be knocked over Yea, yea, yea, yea I don't know why we have to always have yea, yea, yea, yea Yea, thus saith the Lord If that was God, none of us would be standing But He interprets and there's comfort There's not judgmental interpretations But comfort and exhortation And that which will build up the body of Christ And bring Jesus to us I've got to close, I can't go on Oh, His name is what? Take Him home with you Talk about Him in the car, on the way Live in Him, eat Him, drink Him Give Him to your people When you're going into that church Sunday morning I pray you'll have living bread To feed the body of Christ Father, Father, Oh Father I just lift up all these pastors and their wives I just lift them up Father, I hold them before you Oh, I pray for that holy anointing Of the precious Holy Spirit To flow down all over them Oh God, bring them in the Spirit with you Help them to live in the Spirit Help them to know a life in God In the Holy Ghost Make these pastors men of God Oh Father, men of God Who walk with God Who talk with God Who hears from God And can take that living word Week after week to their people Do send revival, Jesus Just, you come We know, we know Revival is your coming among us Come, Jesus We need you so much Oh Father, we thank you for these Heaven appointed days together Thank you, Father We give it all back to you now We give it back to you And ask you to please preserve everything that you've done And we want you in the days to come, Father To be worshipped and adored and glorified In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost We ask it, and everybody said Thank you, Sister Hammond Would you all stand with me I want us to sing what she has suggested Take the name of Jesus with you We have so appreciated These life-changing messages And above all, the ministry of the Spirit In our midst It's imperative that you and I When we get home Allow the changes that have been happening in our lives To be really flesh and blood Put into our ministries Altering our services And I pray that every one of us Shall truly be a different preacher That stands before that congregation Next Sunday morning Let this be but the beginning The wonderful things Let's sing this chorus together First verse, then chorus Take the name of Jesus with you Take the name of Jesus with you Child of sorrow and of woe It will joy and comfort give you Take it, then where'er you go Precious name Oh, how sweet How motherland, joy of heav'n Precious name Oh, how sweet How motherland, joy of heav'n Hallelujah We praise you, Jesus Hallowed be thy wonderful name Hallelujah
