They're there because somebody paid them as a matter of fact We've gotten information that some of you have already bribed members of your family And that is that is something that happens all the time at these awake America's people are bribed to come and let me just Is there anyone here from Boise? No one here from Boise. We got a few hands Is it's the one mama here that got saved in the Boise that wouldn't wanted to go shopping instead of go to the You're probably not here. You would have screamed at me by now but there's this lady that She was I want you to imagine this the husband had been praying for for 25 years. Everyone say 25 years Now say that's a long time Okay, 25 years a daughter had been praying for like 14 years for their unsaved mother She didn't want anything to do with them just just blatant in Their face. I don't want anything to do with your God your religion your life And so this is the situation a lot of times wives you'd say it's usually the husband. No this time it was the wife The husband and the daughter the kids were on fire. The wife wanted nothing to do with it. And so they invited her to the the Idaho awake American she said Absolutely, not You couldn't drag me into that place. And so they tried they lived two hours from the arena. It was in downtown, Boise They lived two hours from the arena and they spent months trying to get mama to just say yes, and she said no No, no, finally the daughter Says this mama Boise has just built some new shopping centers and malls and Why don't you just come with us and you can go shopping? And we'll go to the arena you go shopping. We'll go to the arena. And so the mother she perks up She says this I want everyone to look this way because he's the kind of people that are gonna be there tonight She says Okay, but I'll take my car you take your car You are not gonna trick me and So, um, I know this whole story friend because it's we've gotten long letters from this family and it's just incredible what's happened but They the time comes for the awake America. They show up Mom on Monday does not come to the day session. She's does not come to the evening arena meeting She goes shopping just like she said she would on Tuesday She's on her way out and her transmission Breaks down now This is not a poor family. This is a family that they have means okay, but for some reason their car starts going nutty on them and so and uh They say to her listen We got to get to the arena tonight You can take us to the arena drop us off and then go shopping And she feels what's going on She just but she can't figure out any other way to do it So they take her to the arena when they get close to the arena She sees thousands of people walking in the arena and she knows That it's gonna be difficult to find her husband and her family at the end of that service. So They say mom listen It's crowded and This place is going to be a swarm of automobiles and people I want why don't you just come in and we'll show you where we're gonna be sitting in the arena so they got her in and what she got in the music cranked up and she Enjoyed it the at the end of it. She comes she comes down at the altar call gives her life to Jesus friend It doesn't stop. She gets hit by the but David Ravenhoe, I believe prayed for her She gets hit by the power of God for the first time in her life. She goes home and she becomes an evangelist She's on fire So those are the kind of people That are that show up at these places people that have absolutely no clue But they they're scared but they will come and God's gonna get a hold of them. How many believe that? Here's another letter from a man that just wrote us and he comes to he's been to several awake Americas And he wrote us this letter. I'm not gonna read it all to you He just says I just want you to know Reverend Hill. I am going to hell I want to meet you one day. So you'll see what somebody looks like I want everyone to see me so they can see what somebody looks like that's going to hell He said I go to your meetings. This man is so far gone friend and I Work we're trying to get him on the telephone because I just I this kind of guy I would go over to his house anything to let him know that he's not too far out of God's hands But he sits in the arenas and he literally in his spirit He's telling everyone to run to the altar run to the altar before you're too cold like me It's in it. But this is incredible friend. And um, so these kind of he might be here tonight He goes he comes to the awake Americas It's almost like is the only lifeline before he falls into hell and he says I just want people to know what a person that's Going to hell looks like and so um, it's it's it's wild stuff friend the people that show up So if you hear me saying things like tonight in like this I'll say in a few minutes We're going to be giving you the opportunity to get right with God With those of you that are on drugs those of you that are on alcohol those of you that are caught up in pornography Those of you that need a fresh touch from God in your life. You're away from God. You're backslidden in a few minutes I'm gonna open up these altars you can come you'll hear me say things like that in the meeting and you may be looking around Your section going who's he talking to? I know who I'm talking to friend I know who I'm talking to and let me tell you something else. You don't know the people around you You don't know what they're going through You can have a person that looks right smells right walks right and is singing the choruses dancing up and down to enemies camp But when they get home Late into the night they turn they turn on their computer and they surf the web and they log on to some Pornographic websites and they're going Jesus when am I going to be delivered from this pornography addiction? Well tonight you may see someone, you know, just stand up and come forward because God's gonna get a hold of folks. Amen Hallelujah, okay Bless the Lord All right Turn in your notebooks, it's time to start school class What page is a page 19 For those of you that are um Curious what's what's going on with the Brownsville revival and awake America the awake America what we're doing now Everyone listen up just for a second. We are fine-tuning The awake America's To fit the areas that we're going to I don't know if you can see me down here Just want to get a little bit closer. For example, we're fixing to go to Philadelphia in Philadelphia the I met with a group of pastors the other day 175 pastors and And there were African-american churches some of the largest Baptist churches were represented and I want you to hear me. Okay, because I'm an evangelist. I want to win cities I want to see I want to help pastors win cities There was Asians there was Hispanics and I asked how many people at the of Philadelphia in Philadelphia How many of those pastors had ever been to the awake America's or had ever been to on Brownsville? Five had been only five out of all the pastors now, you're gonna see tonight We'll ask that same question a matter of fact right here How many have not been to Brownsville lift up your hand? You've not been to Brownsville look around Almost everybody in the building put your hand down and what these pastors wanted Rather than a Brownsville meeting they wanted someone to come in and join with them to win the lost That's what they wanted and when we started talking about The loss being saved and going out in the highways and the byways and giving them tools to bring the lost in They just ignited they ignited and so in those services Since the pastors none of the pastors had been to Brownsville. Most of those churches were not singing the songs of the Brownsville revival and and I'm just shooting can I shoot straight with everybody and so in the Philly meeting It would be a little silly for us to come in and and do this thing and miss the target and so what they want is a Large mixed choir, and they want you know we're gonna bring in all and I told him the the platform is going to be made up of people from Philly and a large mixed choir and a mixed Team on the on the platform musicians and they just they just went wild So in every one of the awake Americas are changing you'll see in your notebook This notebook will have people that are not here that may be at another one And then if you were in if you were in Philadelphia, you may look in that notebook And the only one you recognize is me, you know And maybe Bob Rogers or something because we got a whole new crew of people coming through To help fine-tune these meetings to the areas were in so I just want to explain that by the way the Brownsville revival is Cooking on just fine. How many have been to the Brownsville revival raise your hand? Hallelujah It's a it's incredible the the move of God in that building it's a it's awesome I'll be sharing with you during my session a little bit of some of the things that we've seen both there in the awake Americas People still come from all over the world the revival peaked out in 1997 if you have a growing church maybe you remember a time where the church really peaked out and then you started discipling the people that were coming in and The the revival the biggest mistake we made at the Brownsville revival is we were not ready for the influx of souls and Maybe today and tomorrow if we could warn you about anything friend is to get your church ready Because I mean there was nights. I'd give an altar call and 500 people Within a local church would be wailing at the altars. Well Brownsville had no way of Taking care of those people and a lot of them were locals We didn't have the infrastructure now the church does now there's cell groups There's all kinds of branches to there's a we just added five new pastors to help pastor the flock And so now the Lord has equipped us to and given us the wisdom on To on on how to keep the sheep see we're not called to To make converts we're called to make disciples and When when I give this altar call tonight and tomorrow night you're gonna see I'll be talking to all the people and pass how many Pastors do we have here today if you're a pastor stand to your feet Remain standing Remain standing Pastors I Want to tell you before we go any further you're my hero Okay, you're my hero. I Just I I bond with pastors and tonight. You're gonna hear me say to everyone that comes forward Whoever invited you if you came with a church in a church van and you gotten saved tonight You go back and plug in to that local church. I am a local church Fanatic because a true test of the awake America in Seattle is not the 14th and 15th of February the year 2000 the true test is February the 14th and 15th of the year 2010 That's the true test of what goes on here. Did they get discipled? Did they go on after God and that's why I say to you pastors. You're my hero I mean, I just I I honor you because day in and day out you're taking care of the flock You're watching over the flock you're helping the flock to grow it's the hardest work There is and I just want to honor you this morning before going any further. God bless you. I Feel something really strong in my spirit right now I have never done this and I would only do it in under the fear of the Lord. I Believe God's put in Steve's heart something that has to be birthed here today I was with him in Philly at that meeting and it was unbelievable. What happened? We were at the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary and if you're a seminary professor, please forgive me And I don't mean to be disrespectful But the place I expect to see a mighty move of God is not under seminary Chapel And I'm just being candid with you. We were in the seminary Chapel Nine o'clock on Monday morning. That's also not the time. I expect a move of God So it's nine o'clock in the morning in a seminary Chapel It's just not right it's just not the place the piano was out of tune The poor pianist is a good pianist. He could hardly play it was out of tune. He couldn't play It was like nothing could happen here, but God birthed something that moment that morning in Steve's spirit And I'm not here to tell you what to do But what I'd like for you to do as a congregation and as a conference body I'd like for us to release him from these notes and I did we'll give you copies of them if he covers it That's fine But we'll give you copies of that But I I want him to feel the Liberty to risk to release what's in his spirit. Are you willing to do that today? Well with that freedom Now what what we are going to do is we're gonna start and I'm not gonna feel like I have to finish because there are Bob is that that is a word from the Lord. I just I am so Frustrated Millions This country has 250 million people in it and the church Wants to be blessed more I'm going Jesus or give us we don't need another song. I Walked the streets of Seattle yesterday minutes and God bless everyone who's working and I know some of your churches are packed Others may be half full or whatever, but I know Something's got to happen We've got to experience a sovereign move of God that affects sinners to the place where they're going. My my my That's a Christian. I want to be like that person. I want to be like that family I want my family to be at peace like that families at peace and so as I'm gonna go into some of these notes and I'll probably won't get to the end of them and Just I just want to shoot from my heart friend today and that's um That's what it's all about. Anyhow, let me I tell you what to to Let me speak to you from the world. Okay? Some of us in this place are so alienated from the world. It's scary. See Jesus didn't alienate him from himself from the world Now don't get upset at me. I want you to just listen The Bible says and I believe it's in Luke 15 where Jesus hung out with sinners. He ate with them What was the last time you ate with sinners? Don't raise your hand What was the last time you ate you had a barbecue with sinners? No, we're so confined friend. We've built bubbles around ourselves and I have learned something. I Have learned some powerful lessons When the when the revival broke out one of the first shocks for me Was when the media? Started pouring through it was about a year and a half into the revival The secular media started coming through now Christianity today charisma fine Pentecostal evangel, whatever You know, they they all poured through but when the secular media started coming My eyes opened up and The first major company to come through there was the New York Times Now if you're familiar with the New York Times That's all that's the number one newspaper in the world period. I travel all over the world. You can buy the New York Times everywhere When the New York Times they were sitting right in this middle section over here when the New York Times came Someone came to me in the back room. They said they said the Times is here They said the New York Times and I could not figure out why? Why why would they be here and so that night I was preaching hellfire and Brimstone I mean it was Friend and so I we never catered to the media. Okay, whatever they're if they're there they're there, you know, and then and so I mean just recently in Modesto. We held a meeting and that the paper was there and I mean She quoted every single thing. I said man. It was in the paper the next day and I'm and it was just like People that read that had to either get angry I mean something just because they were fuming because she quoted me verbatim just everything I said And so the New York Times is sitting out there and they're just writing notes, I mean just as fast as they can and I'm a little shook. Okay, because I know if they write Something negative about the revival It will have an effect on people and I'm I was I'm green. Okay as far as the media I was at that time very green. Some of you may be seasoned veterans but I was green Chuck Brewster where you at this Chuck Brewster right here used to be the Work for the Secret Service and he was the one in charge of Ronald Reagan And and and so he's he knows the media how they operate. I didn't know the media. Okay, I Was new to this and so they're out there taking notes and at the end of it I always talk to the media at the end of the meetings and I said at the end of it If I told my staff member I said if you want to want me to talk to the times if they want to talk to me I'll talk to him now. And so the New York Times came and they stood on the platform I'm sharing this for a reason because this is the world This is the way this is not Christianity today. This is the world They come up and they stand on the platform and I remember him as if it was yesterday. His name is Rick He stood on the platform and and I walked up to him and I said, I said, I'd like to spend a couple minutes with you He said good. I'd like to interview you and at that time a man came up from Russia From Siberia a pastor with an interpreter very well-dressed man Very elegant looking and he said through his translator. He said would you come to Siberia? We'll put you in all the stadiums all the Coliseums if you'll come and hold Crusades and I said to him I said I can't we've worked in Belarus. We love Russia. We love that area, but God has called me to hold these meetings right now. I cannot come but I will pray with you and So I lifted my hand to start praying with him and what I wanted you ever prayed and asked God not to do anything You know like you got him you got a member of your family visiting your church, you know, and you're going God, please no prophetic words No speaking in tongues just a good decent service and so uh, and so here they are and He's and so I'm going God, please And so I touched him and he goes He hits the floor and his head hits the shoe He hits the shoes of the reporter BAM and so I look up like Thanks for nothing and so And I said I'll meet with you now and the reporter goes he goes You don't need to meet with me he said this is far more important Now I want you to hear me all the way through then the New York Times I said no, wait a minute I'll meet with you for a few minutes went in the back room and I'm sharing this This is a divine appointment to share this this morning. I Went to the back room and I sat down with him and he said Reverend Hill. Do you know who I am? I said, well, you're a reporter from the New York Times. He said no, I'm not a reporter from the New York Times He said I say this in humility I am their very best. He said I'm a Pulitzer Prize winner He said I handled the Oklahoma City bombings. I handled the North Carolina killings when the lady killed her her little boys He said every major story in America. They send me And he said He said I have got the ability to take America Take America and pull them into our living room and share with them a story and he said that's why the New York Times sent me And so I went well What do you think And I'm speaking to you from the world, I'm gonna share two stories right now with you But this is because this is what you this is what we say. This is what you want He said I said, what do you think he said preacher, you know what you got going down here And I said, um what I Wasn't gonna say nothing more man. They sent their top dog down here and they write everything man. You breathe they write He breathed, you know, and they just he said You've got he said you don't know what you got going down here. He said you've got an old-fashioned Camp meeting listen to me friend. He said now listen when I was a little boy My mama Used to take me to camp meetings And I would go to those big tent meetings and Everything I've seen tonight I Heard and saw when I was a little boy And I said to him I said, you know that Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life Friend three weeks later The front cover of the New York Times in color It says this the revival that came But wouldn't go away In in the article, I'm sharing this for a reason because this is still happening. This is how people are writing This is how the secular world is writing as we travel in it He writes these quotes as a matter of fact I was the quote of the day if you ever read the New York Times in that box But he writes you can't love Jesus with reefer hanging out of your mouth You can't call yourself a Christian and be in the backseat of a car with the windows steamed up All the way. I mean, it's just BAM. BAM hard-hitting gospel all the way through and I'm going Jesus You have spoken to me US News and World Report's the headlines when you open up the life section It said fire and brimstone in the hand of God The world knows That what we're preaching in the Mercer arena is truth They know it's truth and I have reporters. I'm sharing this with you for a reason. I have secular reporters that are on a one on they're on a first-name basis with me and they call and We've talked about their salvation These are reporters that are major reporters across the nation because they know that Steve did not play games with them That Steve did not cuddle up to them and soften the gospel and I've had them call me I've even had some of them call me was one man called and he said he said Steve. Can I even drink a beer? This is a poor reporter that's been one of the major newspaper for 23 years he said can't I even drink a beer and I began talking to him about substance abuse and and the weaker brother principle and how other kids are watching you drink that beer and and He's under conviction on the telephone Another reporter said how much time do I have before the rapture? I'm Not going to go through this one, but uh, that's that's the world. This is also the world This is on spin magazine This is um spin if you can see that this is not charisma This is the this is the secular world, this is the youth music culture magazine They've come to the revival When I share with you who's going to come to the Mercer arena, you're gonna be shocked tonight Some of the people that show up here They come to the revival stay for five days at the end of it. We're confronted The reporter comes to me and he says this He said I have a problem with your doctrine. This is owned by penthouse, by the way So I figured they'd have a problem with my doctrine He said I got a problem with your doctrine he said your stand on homosexuality Is strong. I said it's sin. How many here believe homosexuality sin? well I knew when I said that that it was over for me in spin magazine that I was going to be ripped to shreds because This is the avidly promote homosexuality in this magazine and So they left out I got a call from spin magazine two weeks later the major editors the final editors are writing this story and they They say Reverend Hill. We want to confirm your stand on homosexuality before the report goes out before the story goes out This is a major article. We want to confirm your stand and they said to me we have in front of us a Bible I Want you to look this way friend spin magazine had a Bible This is good And so there we have in front of us a Bible and they then they said we have it open to the book of Romans Chapter 1 and Then I'm pausing on the telephone because I can't let me add in all this up I'm going I've got spin magazine this magazine on the telephone. They have a Bible in front of them this is an evangelist's dream come true, and they said we have it open to the book of Romans and According to your according to the Bible your stand on homosexuality is correct The article comes out and I'm sharing this for a reason friend because this is the world It's entitled an awesome God all the way through The article is phenomenal. It says if the Brownsville Assembly brings America back to God, it will come on its knees scared sinless Pictures in here Pictures of punk rockers getting saved. I mean, it's it's phenomenal in the end the writer of the article he writes in the end He says well, I guess I've lived in Sodom too long. He leaves he writes in the article He left the revival went off to a gay bar and you know He would he was a homosexual didn't want anything to do with God, but the article itself is absolutely incredible I share this for a reason friend. I Eat drink and breathe sinners. I want sinners saved. I want to see the world saved now you can be See, it doesn't matter to me if I am known in every Christian publication in the world I don't care if my name is in headlines from coast to coast. I want to know am I known in hell? Does the devil know my name am I on the devil's hit list when I get up in the morning? Does all hell tremble does the devil say he's I'm asking you today. Are you a threat to the kingdom of darkness? Are you a threat are your intercessory prayers shooting up and and skyrocketing into the heavenlies and causing angelic beings to take to take take up their arms and and and go after the people that you're Praying for or is there nothing going on in your life friend? This is where I want to be known I want to be known in hell. How many want to be known in hell? All right, then turn to your notes here We're gonna turn I want you go ahead and go in your notes You there I Want you to turn to number three Where says the evangelist the evangelist and the message Here are the four kinds of people that are going to be in the arena tonight There are people who are close to the truth This is religion versus Christianity now religion is hanging around the cross Christianity is getting on the cross. I want to say that again out loud Religion is hanging around the cross Christianity is getting on the cross. There are going to be religious people here tonight And if you're taking notes, I want you to write Acts chapter 8 and then put the Ethiopian eunuch the Ethiopian eunuch We're gonna limit your note-taking this morning. I just want you to hear my heart There are going to be people in the arena tonight that are like the eunuch What was the eunuch doing on his way back from Jerusalem? Reading the book of Isaiah Well friend if the eunuch is going to be reading the book of Isaiah, wouldn't you say he's close to the truth? When you say he was a religious person How many would say he wasn't saved? He's not saved yet, but he's religious Tonight In the Marcia arena, there are going to be religious people They're going to be close to the truth. That's why I do not attack Catholicism, that's why I do not attack Lutherans. I do not attack the Assemblies of God. I do not attack the Pentecostals I do not attack the Methodist friend You can you can be the member of the biggest church in town and go to hell you may the pastor of the largest Church in town and go to hell religion will damn you You can be close to the truth Like this Ethiopian eunuch and so there's going to be people tonight and you'll find me say things like this See, I'm a Lutheran by background. I was confirmed when I was 12 years old. We still have my confirmation certificate But that didn't save me And so rather than attack Lutherans rather than attack people that and you may be Lutheran here today and you say I love the Lord wonderful My mama's Lutheran. She prayed me into the kingdom, but there's millions of Lutherans that are lost There's millions of AG people and Pentecostals and Methodists that are lost. Is anybody here? You can be religious friend and go to hell You can be in church every Sunday morning Sunday night and Wednesday night and when you die go straight into the flames If you don't know Jesus, so tonight when I give this altar call as I'm speaking, I'll be talking to many people I'm aware that this kind of person is out there. They're religious. They're not bad They're not out there, you know, these are not Satanist although there will be Satanists there tonight. These are not Satanists. There are people that are they came with the Bible But they don't know Jesus pastors, I Would encourage you When you go after an altar call remember they're sitting out there They're sitting out there in your church and you may know every member of your congregate congregation by name But there may be a dozen religious people out there. You've known them all your life all their lives, but they're not saved They do the right things, but they don't know Jesus they can be young They can be in their 80s or 90s and die and go to hell, but they've been sitting under our ministry this whole time religious So keep that in mind tonight when I give this altar call when I'm preaching I am aware as an evangelist that there are religious people out there and rather than blast the eunuch Philip befriended him Became a friend of his I've worked all over the world and one of the places we worked for eight years was Argentina in Argentina I did not blast Catholicism Now you may differ with me, but we planted seven churches and every one of them are blossoming today Some of them have thousands of members. What did we do, right? I want to tell you what we did, right? We'd send out flyers all over the city that said all religions welcome and they would come in when they came in they would see the demonstration of power and Friend next news, you know, we'd have people on fire for God living for God living clean But I did not blast them from the pulpit and I did not blast them in the streets now your theology may be different friend But I want to tell you we've seen some success. We've got people on the mission field today That were saved in our meetings Because we didn't blast them on the streets. We didn't say what do you believe? Well, when someone comes up to me and says, you know, they're Catholic. This is what I say to them Y'all got any Catholics in this area? Any Catholics here? Okay, listen to me. I'll walk up and and someone and don't be offended by me. Okay today, you know where I'm coming from Because you can be an assembly God preacher and bust hell wide open You can be the evangelist of the Brownsville Revival and go to hell if you don't know Jesus And so I'll walk up to someone who's in Catholicism and I ask him this question. I'll say Do you believe in the Virgin Mary? Yeah, so do I do you believe in the sacred scriptures? I say yeah, so do I Do you believe in the virgin birth? Yeah, so do I do you believe in miracles find a Catholic that doesn't believe in miracles Every one of men There's a there's a parent somewhere in the nation or somewhere in a man They flock to it and they'll say yeah I'll say I want to share with you a miracle that I've experienced Then I want you to come to our meetings because we're laying hands on the sick God's healing people God's setting people free. So people that are close to the truth Are gonna be there tonight, but they're not saved yet friend another kind of person people who are distant from the truth These are the people with no clue and you put down there John chapter 4 the Samaritan woman the Samaritan woman How many would say the Samaritan woman was a sinner? She was deep into sin friend and there are people that come with no clue They are distant from the truth Now I'm gonna sidetrack right here Bob. You gave me freedom this morning to do this brother. I'm gonna sidetrack I want you to put your notes down Who's on next are you on next? Okay We Will have people come tonight that are that are like Bubba's y'all got Bubba's in the Northeast Northwest Y'all got Bubba's. How many know what a Bubba is? If you don't know what a Bubba is you need to come down to Alabama meet some Bubba's friend You go to South Carolina. They even sell Bubba Cola. There's a Bubba Cola But Bubba's, you know, we in Alabama, you'll see folks. They'll be driving down the road in their pickup truck There'll be a shotgun rack on the back, you know, and they'll have a couple shotguns And I mean, it's just a wild place friend and use it He's a Bubba's and they'll come to the meetings with with a child tobacco in their mouth, you know And and they'll sit up in the bleachers tonight in Mercer arena, and these are just just Bubba's. Okay, they're just like You don't know what they're doing there they're just there These are people that have them no clue they really don't have a clue what's going on let me share with you a Bubba story and This Bubba he comes forward to defy God, okay Now what I mean by that friend is he comes forward. We're praying for folks tonight. We're gonna pray with everyone How many are on the prayer team tonight? Raise your hand. We're gonna lay hands on everybody Everybody I mean everybody Blatant sinners. I'll lay hands on Muslims the other night. We had a Hindu saved. It is so cool It is so cool And so this Bubba he comes forward and Oh, I love this. He comes forward and you got to see it in the light up here Pastor you got folks like this in your church. He walks up like this With his mouth just and he crosses his arms like this It's altar call time People are wailing people are going after God and this Bubba's standing there like a snot just Y'all know what's a snot is Just not what's not is but what a snot is. He's just standing there staring at me and I Normally, I wouldn't give a man like that the time of day but um, I just felt feisty, okay, and I Wanted God to zap that man so bad and we had seen so much power if you don't believe in the power of God You need to take your Bible and put it away. I Said if you don't believe in the power of God if you don't believe in in while things happen You need to take Acts chapter 9 and rip it out of your Bible Because the man who wrote most of the New Testament had an encounter with God that was so violent So violent he hit the dust a voice came out of heaven a bright light shine blinded his eyes He was led away and three days later something like scales fell from his eyes. That's that's a violent encounter with God People say to me the Holy Spirit's a perfect gentleman, you know, I agree God's got God's got awesome characteristics But you tell Saul of Tarsus if the Holy Spirit was going to be real kind he would have sent someone ahead of time To Saul with a list of what was about to happen In a few minutes there will be a bright light shine from heaven brighter than the noonday Sun You will fall to the ground. This is what the Bible says. You will fall to the ground. You will hit the dust You will hear a voice from heaven. You will speak back to that voice About that time you will be blinded severely You will not be able to be see you will be led away for 72 hours three days And you will sit in darkness for three days on the third day Something like fish scales will fall from your eyes. That would be a perfect gentleman. No friend. He was hit Is that in the Bible I mean it's it it's in there you can argue with me if you want But that's I'm not gonna argue back. I don't you figure it out. And so Here comes this bubble and I'm going God just do it to him. So he's standing there like this No clue Man Man I was at the airport flying in the other day and there's some lady is getting her luggage She goes she goes her luggage comes out. She goes. Caba is great. Caba is great. Caba is great I'm going Caba is great because her luggage made it through she's praising Caba or whoever Caba I'm going these folks have no clue, okay, I'm And so He stands in front of me. I said I want to pray for you How many here believe in the power of God? Now We're not talking about, you know, sister Rosie coming forward for prayer at prayer time in the church, okay No, who's already leaning halfway back, you know Oh You seen that We're talking about He's got He's defined With his arms crossed with this snotty look on his face just saying give me your best shot preacher So I have a one-on-one with God I say Jesus I mean I felt like Elijah I'm going no Do it Jesus and So I touched him on the forehead just touched him and it was like electricity he goes BAM He hits the floor then he goes like this He jumps back up and he cocks his legs now pastors you can you can you know not believe in this all this kind of stuff, but please bear with me for a few minutes because You need this to happen to the Bubba's that you meet He's standing up there like this Visibly shaken but still in all his Bubba hood, you know, he's just he goes I Said You want me to pray for you again He goes yeah This is going to happen tonight at the Mercer Arena, okay Touch the man again BAM on the floor up. He goes again just like this But he's visibly shaken man Bubba's Bubba's losing it he's So So I say And Charlie if you've been to the Browns revival Charlie's always been Charlie was could barely keep his composure. It was it was so funny Because this was a big man a strong man. You know what I'm talking about Nobody's gonna push him around Friend he was dealing with God He was dealing with God this is a one-on-one friend. I Said you want me to pray for you again. He goes. Yeah Touched him BAM. He's on the ground and he's going like this Like that and I got on my knees right next to him. I said what's going on with you? He said he goes Let me tell you something Fall into the ground Be being slain that doesn't make anybody a Christian doesn't make you spiritual doesn't make you anything But let me tell you what an encounter did for that man And pastors I want everyone to hear this because there's some people that are so how many know somebody you'd love that to happen to Some of you stuck both hands up man like I got a list friend People that don't want to track they want to hear about God they want to go to your church and you want to say God Just get them See, these are people like Saul of Tarsus who if you'd handed them a track Who know the truth and have fallen away these right down the prodigal son Luke 15 Luke 15 Prodigal son Luke 15 tonight. There's going to be a lot of backs backsliders Prodigal son with a backslider He had lived a good life. He had fallen away from grace. He had fallen away from his relationship with his father There's gonna be a lot of people tonight that are backsliders Did you know That 80% of North American adults. This is a Gallup poll We talked to George Gallup the junior George Gallup the third personally 80% of North American adults believe when they die, they will stand before God on Judgment Day And be held accountable for their sins 80% that means eight out of every ten people you meet down at the market downtown Eight out of ten believe when they die. Oh, they may cuss you out They may say they don't but they do eight out of ten believe when they die. They'll stand before God 94% have Bibles in their homes 84% believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God Remember the spin magazine article Remember the the editors why did they have a Bible open to the book of Romans? Where did that come from? What was that they were raised in church And in America the majority of the people have a good Understanding of who Jesus is and when they die pastors, you know what I'm talking about They call you up to preach the funeral, you know family call you up preach the funeral Why because they know they know Jesus Christ is the way the truth So These are people who are backslidden Now there may be some in this room this morning. You're backslidden. I love you dearly friend But you've lost your spiritual appetite You doing things that you would have never done before The world is all over you You may hear me say If the videos you're watching at home cannot be watched on Sunday morning in church Then there's sin in your life I'm telling everyone in this place. I trust most of us here are interested in Jesus and love the Lord, but I want to tell you there's some folks in this room this morning. I Should be able to go to your house Blindfolded walk up to your video cabinet and grab any video Take it and put it on a large screen in front of the Mercer Arena Crowd and have you stand up next to me and say this was found in her house This was found in his house and you should stand there and just not fear anything because you know, everything in your home is clean Don't get mad at me I mean this don't get upset at me I've had to clean house, too Okay God has done a major cleansing in my life over the last eight years Because it's easy to start crossing over I Mean, you know what? I'm talking about and just have a just a little stuff. I mean, you know, you're not a pornographer You're not this but what big deal a movie with a few cuss words and a little of this no big thing Next news, you know friend that poisons going into your family when the Browns were revival broke out My wife said Steve there is a movie in our cabinet that has a cuss word in it And uh, you may be shocked that we do stuff like this friend But see I told her I said honey get rid of it get it out of our house It wasn't wasn't a dirty cuss word. It's just one of those cuss words But it wasn't filthy and it was a great movie But they had to poison it they had to get a rating by dropping a cuss word in there And I could not in my own mind. I could not reason it out I could not imagine because I've got three kids My kids are sitting there and they had seen daddy purchased that thing at Walmart And now it was in them in the channel and we told him in the TV and we told him when it comes don't pay attention to that word The bottom line is they heard the word And if my kids ever spit that word out it's my fault I allowed that demon in my home So I just some people that are visibly a disturbed right now I can see it on your face But uh, I mean without holiness no one's gonna see the Lord, okay, and I'm not talking about legalism I'm talking about holiness. You're just free. You're free in Jesus and there's no junk. There's no darkness in your life And when when you when you step out to lay hands on the sick when you step out and cast out devils The devil's looking at you going she can cast out devils because her life is clean. She's living holy. She's living for God She's gotten the sin out of her life Thank you for those four hands And in the last group of people those okay. These are the three signs of a backslider. They lost their spiritual appetite grown worldly in their actions and desires Grown worldly in their actions and desires and the third one is little things don't bother them anymore Little things don't bother them anymore little sins Little things don't bother them anymore. And the last group of people's people who have received the truth and they live in victory People who have like most of us in this room people who received the truth, this is Lydia Lydia acts chapter 16 acts chapter 16 Now Bob I'm gonna go ahead and take my liberty on one more thing But those of you that heard the bubble story and were offended by the bubble story How many were not offended by the bubble story raise your hand yeah Don't raise your hand if you were okay, I don't want But there are people that need violent encounters with God and There are others that don't if you read in the word, you'll see Lydia a seller of purple Purple cloth she just became a believer. The Bible doesn't doesn't say that earth shook Heaven opened a voice came down. She was thrown to the ground. No, the Bible says she just believed and there are people tonight They're just gonna stand they're gonna come down to the altar These people may never get slain under the power They I mean, but they just they just come and they believe and there are others that need earthquake experiences like the jailer There are people that they need to be visibly called out like Zacchaeus down from the tree Maybe you're not like that, but don't put yourself and make your little category the category there are people that need encounters Saul of Tarsus needed a violent encounter and So there are people tonight that need to have a violent encounter with God So if you see somebody hit by the power of God and they're shaken under the power Then thank God that God got a hold of them in the way they needed to be gotten a hold of amen Hallelujah the last thing I want to I want you to look at and we're gonna do this super quick Okay, it has to do with the altar call The very last part of it D How many here give altar calls raise your hand Wow praise God stand up if you give an altar call if you give altar calls or have given an altar call stand up Thank you Jesus I Want I want you to remain standing okay remain standing I want you to hear Altar calls for those of you that give them are as scriptural as Scriptural can be Jesus was constantly calling people out. He started his ministry by calling the disciples out of the boat Follow me Leave where you're at leave your comfortable surroundings and come to me. That was an altar call He calls Zacchaeus down from the tree. That was an altar call There are people that don't believe in altar calls friend the woman in Luke that was bent over with infirmities He called her across the synagogue Why didn't he walk over to her? Why make that lady crawl all the way across bent over to him? Why? Jesus is looking for a response So those of you that give altar calls God bless you You're right smack dab and that I just gave a couple of them friend You're right smack dab in the middle of God's plan be seated. I'm gonna close with this Prepare the net under D Prepare the net That means friend from the beginning of your message Once again, this is not a how-to, but this is what I've learned prepare the net from the beginning of the message Get your net ready If you'll ever see a fisherman on the coast here up and down the northwest coast you'll see him they'll shake the net out in In in Florida with their mullet fishermen and you'll see them on the bridges They'll shake that net out make sure all the weights are hanging down properly. So when they throw it It spreads out and covers as large an area as possible and tonight at the Mercer Arena before I ever start to speak I've already scanned the congregation. I know who was and was not singing the songs I've already been concentrating on the people that are barely there The group of young people that are up in the corner of the arena that don't want to be there I've already seen them the ones that are cutting up and laughing the men that are there the women that are there that are barely there and So you'll hear me say something. I'm preparing the net I'll get out and I'll say something like this. God bless everyone for being here This is a divine appointment, and I know you're here tonight. Many of you don't even want to be here, but thank you for coming and For a sinner here in something like that friend that blows their mind That that preacher knows they don't want to be there and he's thanking them for coming What they've done that's a difference when them getting up and going to the restroom getting in the car and driving off Or just sitting there for a few more minutes And there's times I've said in just a few minutes this message will be over. I Said conviction won't save anyone to be convicted means to be found guilty What good is it if a man feels guilty up in the bleachers and he turns to his wife? He goes wow. I've never heard anything like that. Well, let's go babe or honey, you know that really Speaks to me Man, that was a truth Wasn't that good? I Really enjoyed that too, babe. Well, let's go No, they feel that they need to do something. I'm gonna pull them in Pull them down to the altar friend. Keep pulling them. Keep pulling them. Hallelujah, and then fix the net Once we've pulled them in You will see me tonight Give another altar call Here's why there are people who will never make it on the first wave They're sitting up there and they're going There if they fought tooth and nail there They're bleeding. I mean their fingers are bleeding trying to keep away from going down in an altar call. They're holding on so hard Then I'll say something like this perhaps you're here tonight And you're rejoicing that the altar call is over But I've got news for you And I mean friend, you know, here's what's happened When Jesus found the disciples they were repairing their nets Repairing their nets what that means there was holes in them. What happens to a net when there's a hole in it Fish swim out I will throw the net out and maybe Bob will come up to me and he'll say Steve I feel really funny about this, but I got to tell you there's some people here That and He'll name the type of purpose. Perhaps he'll say there's people here that have they feel like they've sinned so bad John Kilpatrick said this to me one night. They've sinned so bad that God won't forgive them That's why they're not down here and see what because Bob was sitting on the sideline listening to me give the altar call He saw that there was an area. He saw a hole in my net and Then I'll say if you're here tonight and you feel like you've sinned so bad That God will never forgive you like the young man in the letter that I wrote to see what someone that go into hell looks like Then I want you to come one night I did that at Brownsville and After three or four hundred people at the altar 25 more people got up and came forward They had swum through that hole and John Kilpatrick saw that that night and he helped me sew up the hole Let's stand together Bob bring up a copy of Do you give the folks a break this morning?
