Pablo Yoder

Pablo Yoder (N/A–) is an American preacher, missionary, and author whose ministry has focused on sharing the gospel and planting churches in Central America, particularly Nicaragua. Born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, he grew up in a Mennonite family and moved with them to Costa Rica at age ten, an experience detailed in his book The Long Road Home. After marrying Euni, his childhood sweetheart, they were blessed with six children. In 1995, the family relocated to Waslala, Nicaragua, to establish a church amidst significant poverty and violence, enduring over 40 armed robberies and death threats between 1995 and 2000, as recounted in his works Angels in the Night and Angels Over Waslala. Yoder’s preaching career is marked by his unwavering commitment to nonresistance and love for enemies, reflecting his Anabaptist faith. He founded a church in Waslala that grew despite the adversities, often responding to robbers with compassion, such as offering hugs or aid, which he credits for spiritual fruit matching the number of robberies. A prolific writer, he has authored over 16 books, including nature studies like The Work of Thy Fingers and My Father’s World, as well as missionary narratives like From Contra to Christ and All for Love. Diagnosed with stage-four kidney cancer on August 15, 2022, Yoder continues to minister from Nicaragua, sharing life lessons through platforms like Strength to Strength, leaving a legacy of faith, resilience, and creative gospel witness.
