So that's Joel 2, verse 28, And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. And also on my men servants and on my maid servants, I will pour out my Spirit in those days. And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, and blood and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Stop reading there. Now, just in these last weeks, the church celebrated Pentecost. So there are days where we remember Christmas, the birth of our Lord. And then we celebrate Good Friday, where the Lord was crucified. We also celebrate Easter Sunday, where the Lord rose from the dead. Now, just recently, we remembered Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came down. And I'm so thankful for this word that I've read. It's so precious to me. I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh in the last days. So all flesh includes everyone, black and white, Xhosa, Zulu, Indian, whoever. Whatever and whatever you are, you're included, even the sinners. Now, we live in an evil time. In this time, it's as if the devil has just been let loose, where he pours out his spirit of filth and wickedness upon everyone. Just look at the young people in the world, how the world is just swallowing them. Girls falling pregnant out of marriage. Now, these girls, you don't even know how to address them, what to refer to them as, whether it's a miss or a missus, because she's not married. And it's as if the spirit of immorality and prostitution has just been let loose. And it's as if the devil has just been let loose, where he pours out his spirit of filth and wickedness upon everyone. And it's as if the devil has just been let loose, where he pours out his spirit of filth and wickedness upon everyone. And if you think of the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, and you think of the time today where our government has passed a law that it's now legal for a man to get married to a man and a woman to a woman. And like this person who was in Johannesburg, he wrote to his family at home and said, I'll be bringing my girlfriend home. And all his fiancee. And they were looking forward to meeting their future bride. But when the man arrived, he arrived with another man. So they've passed a law that such behavior is now legal. And in fact, it is illegal. It's a crime to speak against it. And nowadays, it's also quite fashionable for people to have a sex change. But well, one will see how they will ever have children. Well, I don't know. They say it's going to get to that point where they can. I don't know how they'll get that right unless they just adopt children. We live in difficult times. Even if you look at the schools, the girls, how many fall pregnant while at school? And many can't even finish their schooling. But even though things are like that, it's wonderful that God promises to pour out his spirit upon all flesh. And in a greater way, in a more marvelous and wonderful way upon all flesh, all nations. Then it continues to say, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. We find many words in the Bible which confuse people. Confuse some people today. Like this word prophecy is misinterpreted often where they say that someone who comes in is like a fortune teller or tells you who made your child sick. Someone cast a spell on him. That's not prophecy. That is straight occultism. That is not prophecy. So you need to discern and know the difference between prophecy and fortune telling. He publicly expounds the word of God. That is prophecy. So never be confused when someone tells you who cast a spell on you. That is not prophecy. That is not prophecy. Like a certain witch doctor that got converted where it was said that that spirit must not be driven out of that person because that spirit will be needed later as a Christian to prophesy. So they bring occultism into the church in that way. So you find people even in the church, they speak and people say well they are prophesying but all the time it's not prophecy. So you can dream something which is inspired by the devil, but you can also dream sometimes just because you've eaten too many potatoes before you went to bed. But there is also such a thing that God speaks to you through a dream. Remember how God spoke to Joseph in a dream and said take the mother and the child and flee to Egypt. Herod wants to kill the child. If Joseph wouldn't have had that dream and obeyed God, the Lord Jesus wouldn't have lived on. So when people come to us and say I've had a dream and I think the Lord is speaking through this dream, then we say well make a record of it, write it down, and then we will see whether that dream goes into fulfillment and see whether it was from the Lord or not. And your young men will see visions. That's what the young men will be doing. Not sitting watching TV and looking at filthy things. No, they will have revelations of heavenly things. Like Daniel at that time with his three friends, God spoke to them through visions. So when God's spirit comes upon people, those people they are filled with heavenly things. They forget about earthly and worldly things. They are just busy with heavenly things. And also on my men servants and my maid servants, I will pour out my spirit. It's wonderful when God works through a spirit. The girls, the boys, the men, the women, the older and the young people. He works among everyone. Even the men and maid servants. Some people complain, they say, oh but we're just nothing. We're just servants. We're like slaves. The other people who live like kings, we just suffer. Some are wealthy, we are just poor. Those differences disappear when the Holy Spirit comes upon people. Because now even the poorest can get the biggest and greatest of gifts being the Holy Spirit. That's the greatest riches you can find. Even if you think you have to work like a slave, but when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, that doesn't make a difference anymore. Because now he comes upon you and gives you his Holy Spirit and he gives you his gifts of the Holy Spirit. You have the greatest treasures and riches you can imagine. You say, I'm nothing. I have nothing. But if you have the Holy Spirit, you have so much. You're not poor. You have great riches. Because the Lord's Word teaches us that the greatest will be the smallest. The smallest, the least, will be the greatest. The poor will be rich. And the rich will be like the poor. So you can rejoice because that's what happens when God pours out his Spirit. And so God comes to people, to sinners. And he comes and he pours out his Spirit and he gives them these riches. And very often you find that the people who are poor in an earthly sense, they have the greatest riches in heavenly things. And God spoke through Joel and said, after these things, this is to happen. He says, I will also show wonders in the heavens and in the earth. Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. Think of all the wonders that have taken place when the Lord Jesus was born. And since then, and with the early Christians, all of those things that happened with God worked wonders. During the time of Nero, they persecuted the Christians, burned them alive. They set people alight, burned them to death. And that happens even in this time, things which the Muslims do. But in those days, they even roasted people on a red hot plate and some were crucified. But one of those who was tortured in that way, he said, you know when he lay on that red hot iron, it was like a bed of roses to him. And God says he will show wonders and there will be pillars of smoke. Well today, you see, often see when jets fly, you see the vapor trails. And sometimes they are there for a long time, especially in Europe. And God spoke about all these signs. The sun shall be turned into darkness before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And we think of the time when the Lord Jesus was crucified. Even then, darkness came upon the earth for three hours. Joel prophesied these things many years before they happened, but they went into fulfillment. He said before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord, that fearful day. Yes, that great and awesome day is coming as sure as anything. And that one day will be like more than 10,000 years. That's judgment day where God will judge all people. Now, if you repent and you call upon the name of the Lord and he saves you, then that day you need not fear. But if you do not repent, that day will be a terrible day to you. It will be like hell to you. And you can even just think of all the damage alcohol does, even to you physically, where your liver, your kidneys are destroyed and you end up vomiting blood. And you smoke. And you have lung problems. Early in the morning when the rooster starts crowing, you crow in your bed as well. You start coughing because of your lungs. And if you look in the world today, how many diseases there are, and you find out that a lot of them are there because of disobedience to God. Because God came, worked through his spirit, and mankind rejected it. And that's why you find all these things that people have. And all the drug-related diseases that there are today, like with crocodile and all these things. Things where your body, your flesh just rots away and eventually you just see white bones left. Even your teeth fall out. It started in Russia. The year before last, in August, it started in Africa. When God's spirit speaks to you, obey. Listen to him as he speaks. It's better to cut off your right hand, go into heaven without that hand, than to have both hands and end up in hell. God's word says, Some people are born eunuchs. Others, they make themselves into eunuchs. So he's teaching you that it's better to become an ox than to stay a bull and end up in hell. So that great and awesome day is coming to everyone, and many people ignore it. Even leaders, people in leading positions in government, they ignore that day. But that day is coming as sure as anything. You'll help by one thing, and that is to call upon the name of the Lord, where you cry out to the Lord and say, O God, O Lord, help me. That you'll cry out like that man in Romans 7 said, And next time, when I die, I will be in heaven with my body. Listen, cry to the Lord, He can and will save you. May no one harden his or her heart, but cry out to the Lord and say, O Lord, save me. Now friends, I said I'd try and make it short, you see I tried. I don't want you to get home only tomorrow morning. May the Lord be with you and keep you. So we want something to come out there for the gospel. So go in the strength of the Lord and may the Lord help you to be a blessing to many and that you can be a help to many for the time is short. Let's close with prayer. We pray Lord Jesus that your grace will be with us all. And even where sin abounds, may your grace abound much more. And Lord, we pray our Heavenly Father that your love will overflow in our hearts. That we'll love and serve you and love and serve one another through your holy love. And may the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, who guides and instructs and counsels and teaches us, be with us all until we meet again. And if we don't meet here, then when we meet in heaven. Amen.
