Sermon Transcription
The power of prayer the power of prayer I desire therefore that men pray everywhere lifting up holy hands without Wrath and doubting paul saying timothy. I desire that all men everywhere raise holy hands and pray Can I be honest with you? The reason that some that god is not moving in some of our in some areas in our lives is because we are not men And women of prayer we have to petition god god A powerless church is a prayerless church You've heard me say that many times a prayerless christian is a powerless christian prayer is the most important thing You can do not get in your car a little quick prayer, but but plead and petition god George Whitfield prayed england was reborn. John knox prayed Scotland was reborn when when Whitfield prayed america fell to her knees when deo moody prayed america was transformed When charles spurgeon prayed london was radically transformed the whole area there when martin luther prayed The church fell apart when you're exwingley prayed switzerland was revived Prayer moves the hand of god the prayers of john knox in scotland were so powerful that the queen of scotland Feared his prayers more than the armies of england That's power because you move the hand of god by prayer All the major Things in the bible where god moved radically was because of prayer Moses lord deliver your people He prayed hannah brought forth samuel the most anointed prophet that israel ever knew when moses prayed the Seas parted when joshua prayed the walls came down when people prayed god moved when nehemiah prayed the wall was Rebuilt when joe prayed he finally got spent up onto the dry land and called minerva to repentance prayer moves the hand of god It's consistent from genesis to revelation prayer moves the hand of god If you're not praying you're going to be a powerless christian. There's no anointing There's no unction to to get through life. God is not moving mightily through you people are not coming to salvation You're not walking in the power and the presence of the holy spirit because we're neglected the most important gift and that's prayer Communing with an all-powerful all-knowing god. He has given us the ability to do that, but we reject it If I were to look back, I would say that that prayer stands out is the most defining points in my life where god has moved Mightily, do you know where these sermons come from? Not a computer from a prayer closet sometimes stained with tears Pleading and praying lord. What do you want to say? That's where he moves Where does this church come from two people praying me and morgan? That's it Nobody knew about it. Just praying Where does he where does he got open financial doors that you never dreamed possible in the prayer closet? How how does that prodigal son come home if if I was a parent and I had a prodigal or a wayward daughter? I you could not get me out of that prayer closet hours a day praying and fasting and pleading Because that moves the hand of god Either it does or it doesn't if it does what in the world are we doing never praying? The more you study prayer think about that every big move of god for the most part was because of prayer and samuel prayed and hezekiah prayed and david prayed and the minor prophets from joel and amos and obadiah prayed and Day and paul prayed and when they're in the upper room Praying they were filled with power. Jesus said don't go start your ministry. Don't sign up for for uh classes Don't go out and witness. Don't go knock on doors. Don't go even start a church go and pray for what power That's why the american church at as a whole is powerless That's why lives are not being radically changed That's why people walk in and they walk out no different when they were arrived because the american church has forgot the power of prayer Charles spurgeon used to have a hundred people underneath him in the basement with six thousand people praying Pleading for his church all revivals legitimate genuine revivals began It's two three men and women got together and prayed for revival for god to move Prayer I think is the secret to everything. It's the most important thing and we neglect it Turn off fox news throw that thing in the garage and get in matthew mark luke and john That's where you're going to experience genuine revival There's so much that god wants to do In our lives if we would just be men and women submitted and surrendered and prayerful That's the key you're not going to get a whole bunch of principles don't go buy a book Seven steps of financial breakthroughs don't go buy your best life now submit surrender and pray Submit your life surrender your life and pray to god to guide and direct you
