Todd Atkinson

Todd Atkinson (birth year unknown–present). Born in the Canadian Prairies, Todd Atkinson was an Anglican bishop and pastor who served as the founding bishop of Via Apostolica, a missionary district within the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Raised in a non-religious family, he became a Christian in his teens and, at 18, moved to the United Kingdom to train with an evangelist. By 25, he studied theology and philosophy at the University of Oxford, though records of a degree are unclear. Returning to Canada, he briefly served as president of Eston College before resuming missionary work in Scotland with his wife. In 2003, he began pastoring in Lethbridge, Alberta, laying the groundwork for Via Apostolica, which he led as bishop after his consecration in 2012. Admitted to ACNA’s College of Bishops in 2019, he preached on spiritual renewal but faced allegations of misconduct, including inappropriate relationships and abuse of power, leading to a leave of absence in 2021. Found guilty on four charges by ACNA’s Trial Court in April 2024, he was deposed from ministry on May 9, 2024, and soon began offering spiritual direction independently. Atkinson said, “The church is called to be a community of transformation, rooted in the truth of Christ.”

Sermon Transcription
I told you the story where I was in heaven experience and I pulled out, I resisted, just pure skepticism. Lord, heal that part of us. May we be like Nathanael, so quick to believe, so quick to trust, so he got to see greater things. I love these saints, I love these, these are your sons and daughters and I'm asking Father, I'm asking that the latter wine would be greater than the former. The wedding of Cana, you saved the best to last and I'm asking Father that you would do things in their hearts and lives, miraculous, divine things, that they would be able to say these are the best days of my life in God ever, bar none. That he took me low, so that he could take me high, I intercede for your church. I'm going to ask the worship team to come, but what I'm going to ask is you just stay in this place. Say, Lord, I have been so long in the desert, it's hard to even think there could be anything else. I know that feeling, believe me, I know. And so there is a healing and a nurturing back into, that was a, that was a more important time than you realize, but it was preparation. I formed things in you, but I have more for you. And we must become a center for God's presence, that his presence could come to our country through his church. Think on these things, may faith for this grow inside of you. So I'm going to ask the worship team to come up and if you feel like God is just doing something and you're not really sure what it is, come forward and have someone pray with you, agree with you, support that. If you're here tonight and you're like, okay, I've had such rough years, it's hard for me to even believe for that, you're not alone. Believe me, you are not alone. Maybe it would be helpful for you to come forward and say, can you pray for me? I want to be back in a place of childlike trust again.
