Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the preacher begins by acknowledging that many people have noticed a decline in their strength and are facing challenges in their lives. He emphasizes the importance of learning from the Word of God and finding the truth. The preacher then focuses on a verse from the book of Acts, where Stephen confronts the people for their resistance to the Holy Spirit and their adherence to traditions. He warns them that rejecting God's commandments will lead to consequences such as terror, sickness, and loss of joy. The preacher encourages the listeners to follow the teachings of the Word of God rather than the traditions of men, and to avoid idolatry and worshiping false images.

Sermon Transcription
God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible in sequence in order that you may be able to make a choice for the word of God rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number six in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in this series in numerical order so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series or to the tapes out of sequence can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. You shall not make for yourself idols, nor shall you set up for yourself an image or there it is, we saw it in Hosea 10, a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it. Now, a figured stone is a stone that's been cut on and everything that people bow their heart down, there's plenty of them. I am the Lord your God. Now verse 2, you shall keep my Sabbaths and you're going to reverence my sanctuary. I'm the Lord. Now, let's just start talking about these because we're talking about today right now. You're going to reverence my sanctuary. Where is the sanctuary? This right here is the meeting house. Can I tell you right here is your sanctuary? You're going to reverence my sanctuary and you're going to keep my Sabbath. Do you know what the Sabbath is today? To enter into rest, quit striving and cease from your own works and let God be God. Amen? Now, how do you enter into rest? Do you have a repentant heart and deal with all rebellion and sin that your heart's living at? Put it all to death and then it's all gone. I mean, when there's no more torment there and the land's possessed, that's all rest. That's how you get there. Hebrews 3 and 4 got in there to do. Now, let's look further in verse 3. You, if, if, if, there's a condition, please circle if. If you will walk in my statutes and keep my commandments so as to analyze them, to carry them out, if you'll do this, if you'll carry out my commandments, then I'm going to give you the rain. Now, what's that rain? Just put HS. That's the Holy Spirit. When you carry out the Word of God, you get the rain on you. So that then the land is going to yield its fruit. And the trees, the fields are going to bear their fruit. You bear the fruit when you get the Spirit of God and you walk in the ways of God. Amen? You're going to like this before we get through. Now, indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape-gathering, and grape-gathering will last in you until sowing time. You will thus eat your food to the full. That food is spiritual food. It's called the Word of God and you're going to live securely in your land. You know why? You're going to have peace. Can you hear me from where you're sitting? I said peace. Now, the next, that's when we do it God's way. Now, in verse 6, I shall also grant peace to the land so that you're going to lie down and no one's going to make you tremble. There is fear. There's not going to be any fear. Put where it says, you're not going to tremble, there's going to be no fear. I'm going to eliminate those harmful beasts, that's the powers of darkness from the land, and no sword that's a curse will pass through your land. There's no curses on you. Why? Because the blessings are there. Because you're walking in life in peace. Amen? Those, in Romans 8, 6, those who walk after the flesh is death. Those who walk after the Spirit is life and peace. Amen? Now, He's going to eliminate the harmful beasts and there's going to be no sword, no curses. Now, verse 7, you're going to chase your enemies, in other words, and they're going to fall before the sword. There are a lot of people today that want to just teach retreat, go retreat, retreat. Most churches go on retreats. Let's go retreat. Verse 8, right here it says you've got to start charging. Amen? Charge! Now, you're going to chase your enemies. Spiritual warfare ain't going to a church in the rain, is it? Now, verse 8, five of you are going to chase a hundred, and a hundred of you are going to chase ten thousand, and your enemies are going to fall before you by the sword. You take the Word of God and there they go. Amen? So, I'm going to turn toward you, and when you're doing all this, I'm going to make you fruitful and multiply you. I like that. I like being fruitful and multiply. You're going to be fruitful and multiply, and then when you're doing this, I'm going to confirm my covenant to you, everything I promise you, you get. You get it then, because that's where your heart is. You will eat the old supply, and you're going to clear out the no old, because in you I've shared with some people these oaks that they have down here in, well, I'm in Oklahoma, in Texas, in Oklahoma, you know those leaves sell them all year long, and then the news starts coming out, and there the old just drops off. Amen? When that news is coming out, the old has to go. Now, moreover, I'm going to make my dwelling place among you. That dwelling is the presence of God. Just write it in there. And my soul is not going to reject you. I will walk among you. I'll be your God, and you're going to be my people. You remember over there when he said, Do not be unevenly yoked. Do not touch what is unclean. Come out from the midst of them, and then I'll be a father to you, and you'll be sons and daughters to me. Amen? Okay? Verse 13, I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, who brought you out of the world. Now listen, God said, I brought you out of the world. Is He bringing us out of the world? I've called you out of the world, John 15 says, so that you should not be their slaves. People in the world are robots. They're controlled by the powers of darkness. And so are you. Satan was your master before Jesus Christ became your Lord. And then I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect. Let me ask you something, folks. When you come to the Lord with all your heart and you take authority over all these works of darkness, do you ever notice something right here, right over here, where does the yoke always fit? Right in there. Do you ever notice something just kind of jumps off here and all of a sudden you move your head around your neck and things all of a sudden? Make you walk erect. Somebody the other day told me I was bouncing. I didn't used to bounce. I'm in on grace, folks. So, verse 14. Now that begins the other direction. But, he says, if you do not obey me, you won't obey the Word of God, and you do not carry out these commandments, now here's what you're going to get. All right? This is what you're going to get starting in 15. If instead you reject my statutes, if your soul abhors my ordinances, so as not to carry out all, all, all my commandments, and then when you want to carry out the Word of God, you break my covenant. Verse 16, I in turn am going to do this to you. What he's fixing to do is, the heads get lowered, and here they come. I'm going to pour over you a sudden what? Terror. That's them. Consumption and fever shall waste away the eyes. That's sickness. And I'm going to cause the soul to pine away. Now, how does the soul pine away? You lose all joy. Are you hearing me? Hey, folks, when they come in, all they're doing is talking to you about sorrow, rejection. They start in the morning when you first wake up to point to you every negative thing that they can get to you. And if they need any help, they'll make somebody call you to remind you of it. Do you ever notice you talk on the phone, you have one of them, you're attacking your throat, and say, well, you've got pneumonia. Also, verse 16, this parable of the Word, you shall sow your seed uselessly. You're going to sow it uselessly. Why? For your enemy is going to eat it up. Now, that's the power of the darkness. That's them. They're going to eat up the Word of God. Do you hear me? Now, verse 17, and I'm going to set my face against you so that you're going to be struck down. Now, I'm telling you, the head is down before your enemies. And those who hate you are going to rule over you, and you shall flee when no one's pursuing you. That's fear. I mean, that's scared to death. I mean, when you fear God, you obey His Word. And when you don't fear God, you're scared of everything. I mean, a leaf can run you down the road. You ever have a leaf just kind of slip up behind you there and make you just jump for about 14 feet? That's them. You don't believe in Scripture? You stay with me here a while. Verse 18, If also after these things you still want to obey me, then I'm just going to punish you seven times more for your sins. I tell you, folks, do you understand when you stay and obey in the God, it just keeps coming on you. Do you hear me? Seven more times. And I'm going to break down your what? All that pride and reputation and name. You're walking there for your own selfish ambition. I'm going to break down that pride of power and I'm going to make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze. You're not going to get any help and they're going to tear you all to pieces. The power of the darkness. Because you won't get any help from me. You're smarter than God. Now verse 20, And your strength... Folks, mark that right there. Do you remember he told Satan and Isaiah 14, You who have weakened the nations, the powers of the people, and your strength shall be spent uselessly for your land... Where's the land at? Right here is the land, the field. It's not going to yield its produce. No, the trees of the field are going to yield their fruit. Do you see that? Do you know what? Do you ever see a branch get out somewhere and try to yield fruit by itself? Huh? No, it's kind of hard for them to do. Now verse 21, If then, after all this, you're just going to act with what? What's that word? Hostility. And do you know what I'd like you to write in there? Romans 8, 7. For the flesh, if anybody loves you flesh, you're still walking, you're hostile to God, and you will not subject yourself to the word of God. That's hostility. Do you know in Galatians 5, 17 that the flesh is hostile to the Spirit? Amen? It's hostile to the Spirit of God. Amen? I can't hear you. Amen? Thank you. If then you act with hostility against me and flesh is always hostile and unwilling to obey me, then I'm going to increase the what? Do you know what that plague is? It's sicknesses. They're going to increase seven times. That's the reason that the Lord said in James 4, James 4 comes before James 5, doesn't it? James 5, it said, you anoint it with oil and they might be restored. They will be restored. But James 4 says, first, you humble yourself, you submit to God, you start resisting the devil, you draw near to God, cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded, and then you're broken and you weep and then you come into the presence of God. That's how you get in His presence. He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Now, it does say dealing with sin. I don't care what somebody else is saying. Your Bible is talking about dealing with sin because the prayer of a righteous man isn't one that veils as much as you deal with sin. And so then you pray for one another so you'll be healed. Amen? Now, folks, we learn a lot about this and we get this all out of the way where we're not boasting in some man, you know, in his power. Here he comes, Mr. Power, and bowing your heads to him, you know, the man with the power is here and when Jesus is the only one that's got anything that's worth having, then I think we'll see some things. Amen? When we get all this out of it so we're not bound to nobody but Jesus and He's standing in the middle of it and He's the one getting the glory, He's going to come in our midst and it's going to be so good we won't be able to stand it. It's already hard to. Now, he said, let me read 21. If you act with hostility against me, unwilling to obey me, I'm going to increase the plague of sickness over your seven times. What? According to your sins. That's the plague comes and sickness comes. According to what? According to your sins. It doesn't sound like a blessing, does it? All right, now in verse 22, here's the next verse. I'm going to let loose among you, there's the powers of darkness, the beasts of the field, and they're going to breathe you of your children, destroy your cattle, they're going to reduce your number, so your roads lie deserted. Now, how do you like roads lie deserted? Now, look at me, folks. You know the parable of the road is talking about where the seed is sown. The road, your roads lie deserted everywhere you walk. The road is where you're walking at, where you're living at. Amen? Okay? Now, in verse 23, if you're still wise in your own eyes, if by these things you still not turn to me, but you're still acting with hostility to me, that means if you're still in the flesh, flesh is hostile toward God, isn't it? I can't hear you. And it won't subject itself. If you just stay in the flesh, it gets worse for you. The anger of God increases on you. You're going to be stiff-necked and stubborn. You have some man to tell you how righteous you are while you're in stiff neck and rebelling to God? Just get you seven more times worse. Amen? All right, then, 24, 23, if these things you've not turned to me and act with hostility against me, then I'm going to act with hostility against you and I even I. Here they come again. I'm going to strike you seven more times for your sin. I'm going to bring upon you the sword. The sword is the curse which is going to execute vengeance for the covenant. If you don't walk in blessing, he executes the sword which is a curse. He removes the hedge which is his anger, burning anger which is Satan. And here they come. They carry it out. And they come to kill, steal, and destroy. There's no protection for you because your heart is choosing against God. And when you gather together in your cities, I'm going to send peasants among you so that you shall be delivered into enemies' hands. Look at verse 36. As for those of you who may be left, I'm going to send weakness into your hearts in the land of the enemies. Now look here, folks. Look at me. Folks, this weakness in the heart, when the powers of darkness start coming on, you know whose land it starts belonging to then? It starts becoming the enemies' land instead of your land. You hear me? They take it away from you. They come in and take it away from you. And then they just start pulling levers. Come alive, pride. Come alive, hate. Come alive, anger. Come alive, slander. Come alive, criticism. And everything that comes in your mind, you just follow it there just like a robot. Come alive, resentment. Come alive, jealousy. Come alive, envy. And you act just like Satan. Why, you think, oh, how I love Jesus. They move in and it becomes enemies' land. You know how you're going to know? By what comes out of your mouth, folks. Now listen to this, God. He's showing us that you know folks by their fruit. And somebody that's coming to the light is not supposed to be under condemnation because they've got some problems. Because you have a Savior and a Lord. It says you take my yoke. It's easy. And it's light. You come here. I'll get that stuff off of you. But see, everyone won't come to the light because they've got some reservation. They want a little bit of pride. They want a little reputation. They want to hold on to a few things, you know, and everything. They're going to get free. Because see, you get people just like that fellow that's got free of everything out here. I mean, it was something to watch a man like that. You know, and I've watched several of them here. Never had a piece like that in their life since the day they were born. But if they don't go out there and walk in it, I mean, they just get in anger, and then a bunch of rioters go watch your television, and you just get loaded. You're never going to come. Listen, folks, you're never going to watch all that junk and trash out of hell on television and come to this Word of God and think you're ever going to be free. If you stay away from that thing a little while and get in the Word of God, you won't be able to send it. Now, we're still in 36. As for those of you who may be left, I'll bring weakness into their hearts, and the lands are in them. It's an enemy's land. Now look, here it comes. And the sound of a leaf, brethren, is going to chase him even when no one's running him. He walked down the road, and a leaf is going to run you about a half a mile. You know what they call that? Fear. Fear. That's what everybody laughs at. Ha, ha, and it's the devil. He's laughing with you. He loves to see you jump and run. And a leaf is going to chase you when no one's pursuing, and they'll flee as though from a sword, and they will fall. And there's 37. They will, therefore, they're going to stumble over each other. Just run into each other if they're running from the sword. Have you ever dealt with the powers of darkness that brings busyness in your life? You're busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy. Restless, you're always about three days behind. That's the demon driving you. You don't even have time to stop and meet your family. You're always too busy. Although no one's here, and you will have no what, you have no strength to stand up before your enemies. How many of you have noticed? Let me ask you something. How many have noticed over the last few years that your strength is just being sad? Folks, I just found out there's some things wrong in my life, and they're some things I saw in the Word, and I still don't see it all. I've just learned enough to know I don't know what I ought to know. But I'll tell you what, I found out some things, and that's why I'm starting to bounce when I'm walking. You know I've learned some things. I'm bouncing again. You say, you know, when the chain gang comes marching in. I don't think we have too much to brag about or boast about. Do you? Do you see now why he said the only thing to boast in in Jesus' understanding, isn't he? All right, let's just continue. You don't have any strength to stand up and defend. Now usually in people, you know, we're dealing with, and these powers of God can get all these strongholds tore up, and then we just seal with the blood all these works of destruction, destruction and all the diseases that's in your body, and just seal them together just to help them just release. We're going to do something like this this week. Just release them, and that's it. And everything that's weakened in them right now in the name of Jesus, it's just sealed with the blood and it's released because the Lord has sent His Word to heal them. And just let that thing go off, and then now, just reach up to the throne and just receive strength. God said you could have strength. I'm strengthening in all power by the power of the mouth of the Lord. I can do all things through Christ who strengthened me. The joy of the Lord is my strength. Amen? Now I'm going to tell you something. You don't get that by demanding on God. You get that by God said you come before Him and you be humble, and you realize you're not getting it because you're smart. You're getting it because you're obedient. Amen? And the Lord is Lord of your heart right now. So, what did we get, 238? But you will perish among the nation and your enemy's land is going to consume you. When they move in, they're just going to take you over. So, those of you who may have left, you're going to just what? Rot away. Now, that is sickness right there. You're just going to rot away. That's sickness. Because why? Because of your sin, iniquity, and the land of your enemies. It's become the enemy's land now, and your sins are just causing them just to waste you away. They come to steal, kill, and destroy. They bring disease to your body. Do you hear me? Alright? And also because why? The iniquities of your forefathers, they're going to rot away with them. Folks, I had the hardest time over that right there. I never believed that the sins of my father could ever have been on me. And you know something? Until I started dealing with the powers of darkness, and I began finding out how the powers of darkness got certain ground and sicknesses and things like that, and then I just have them ask the Lord to forgive them of all the sins of unfaithful ancestors, and just renounce them. I confess them as sin, and you became a curse for me at Calvary, and I possess the land. See, I take the sword. The sword is that I get in on it. I got Jesus, and I say what Jesus said. You became a curse, and I release all these right now in Jesus' name. I want to ask you something. What do you think the curse of Adam was? Could that have been an ancestral curse? Sounds like it could be. It's there, isn't it? Amen. Now, the verse, well, when did it quit being handed down? It quit being handed down when you changed bloodlines. Amen? If they confess their iniquity, that's a sin, and the iniquity of their forefathers, and that's what we do in their unfaithfulness, which they committed against me. That's just what I told you. I also was acting with hostility against them to bring them into the land of their enemies, or if their uncircumcised heart becomes what? They're going to become humble, so that then they're going to make amends for their iniquity. They're going to do what's right. They're going to go to the ones who they've wronged. Then I'm going to remember my covenant with Jacob, and you're going to go with Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. We're Abraham's seed. You know that in Galatians 3, don't you? And here it is. This is a covenant of promise, and then I'm going to remember also my covenant with Isaac, my covenant with Abraham as well. Now, we're Abraham's children, and then I'm going to remember the land. Look, folks. Listen to me. I want you to notice what you just read. He establishes his covenant when you walk in it, and then he said, when you do all these things and you repent and you turn from them, then I'm going to remember my covenant, and then when you remember this covenant, you're going to remember what? The land. And then when you go to the land, the land, listen, I wonder what's going to happen to the land. Well, verse 43, for the land shall be abandoned by them and shall make up for its salvage while it is made desolate without them. They, meanwhile, shall be making amends for their iniquity. Everything that's not right, they're going to make right because God has all their heart. Because they rejected martyrs in their soul that's why all of it come on them. You see there? Turn back to Acts 7. Acts 7. Acts 7. Folks, is that pretty clear? See, look at folks. Look at me. You don't just get you an experience and get rid of all strongholds. You start taking over the land. You start getting rid of anger. And God said, now that pride has to go. That boasting has to go. And this, literally, you're going to take over and you're not going to stop on any of it. When you're led by the Spirit of God, you let it all go because you love Jesus more than you do any of those strongholds. And we know in Colossians 3, 5 that if you practice it, that means you love it more than you do the Lord and therefore, it's an idol in your heart. Amen? It becomes an idol. Now, in other words, the Lord used these things to chastise you. When you lose your peace, you're being chastened. There's something wrong in your heart if you're not peaceful. You've got sin. Let me just say this. If you are not peaceful, you've got sin in your heart. If you don't have peace, you've got sin. Let me say it over here. I'm just suggesting, if you don't have peace, you've got a problem with God. There's something wrong with your heart. Don't lie against the truth. You know what it said in James 3? You have sin in your heart if you don't have peace. Now, what does that mean? You can have peace and keep peace. But you want to tell you something, it's walking with Jesus. That's everything we talk about with all your heart. That's the only thing we're saying here. We might mention a demon and everything a while ago, but we're not talking about pigs in the parlor, are we? No, we're talking about coming to Jesus with a whole heart. This is what it's all about. Amen? Okay. Now, Acts 7, verse 35. This Moses, whom he didst own, saying, Who made you a ruler and judge, which is the one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in a thorn bush. Hey, didn't all this come over here in the New Testament from over there where we've been reading it over there in Exodus and so forth? Well, it always does well to go over and see what it's saying and just kind of bring it over here because it's saying something over here too, right? Okay. Now, verse 36. This man led them out performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and the Red Sea and in the wilderness for 40 years. And we saw there in verse 39 and their fathers were unwilling to be obedient to them. Now, let me just remind you of Scripture and if you want to write it in there, 1 Peter 1, 14 and 15. It says, As obedient children, do not be conformed to your former lust, the former rebellion of the flesh, which was yours and your ignorance, but like the Holy One, you're going to be holy in all your behavior. Now, that's your New Testament covenant. Amen? And our fathers were unwilling to be obedient, which means you can not be obedient either if you don't do this. But they repudiated him and in their hearts, they turned back to the world. Is that right? Does that happen today? Now, verse 41. At that time, they made a what? Cave. And when your heart turns back to the world, you've always got your cave, right? And they brought sacrifices to the what? Idol. Folks, an idol is always a cave. And they were rejoicing in the what? Now, look at me, folks. I'm not going to take time and turn back there in Psalms 106 and Psalm 78, but I want to tell you something. You know what they did. Do people make idols out of doctrines today? And they bow down and it gets their hearts. Is that right? The doctrines, they have their hearts instead of Jesus. Is that correct? All right, now let me ask you something. Who is the beast? In Satan's time of the beast? Powers of darkness? If you're not in the image of Jesus, you'd be the image of the beast. Is that right? That's the opposite of it. Isn't that right? Well, what if you worship the image of the beast? If you worship the image of the beast, like, you know, like a doctrine, you're going to become, if the doctrine doesn't conform you to God, it's who you're going to be like. The beast. Or what do you think a doctrine of demons is? Who's that going to make you like, Jesus or the beast? And so it's going to be, a doctrine of demons is going to be in the image of the beast because the doctrine is the image of ungodliness. Amen? All right, now what happened to them when they was crossing the wilderness right there? They, did they take a, make a go-kart? Did they bow down to it? Was it the idol? Was it the image of the beast? See there? It's the same thing that's talking about in Revelation. It's the image of the beast. They bow their heart down to the idol, to the image of the beast. All right? We might get to look some at that this week. All right, now, in, so, I want to read 41. At that time, they made their heart turn back to the world. They made a cave, they brought sacrifice to the idol, and they were rejoicing in the works of their hands. Now look at verse 42. But God, what? Which direction did God turn? I'm telling you, when you turn your heart from God and you turn to any idol, God has turned from you. And he said, but God turned away and he delivered them up to serve who? To serve the host of heaven. And that right there is what he's doing today. That host of heaven is the powers of darkness. And, you know what? I'd like to show you just an example of this right here. Turn with me back to Deuteronomy 29, please. Deuteronomy 29. Deuteronomy 29. Now, folks, let me just share something with you so you'll not be deceived by that. If I seem to make an overemphasis on demons, you're being lied to. Because my emphasis is a pure heart and a whole heart of the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm only mentioning them to bring them back in because they've been so ignored by double-minded and people and that's what's got people right now is the powers of darkness. And so, you need to know that when you walk in covenant and you have Jesus, that you are supposed to possess this land and overcome and you are supposed to walk the walk of love instead of selfishness in the flesh with the powers of darkness. This is not a demon meeting. It's a Jesus meeting. Now, Deuteronomy 29. Now, let's look at verse 16. For you know how we lived in the world, the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the world, the nations through which you passed. Verse 17. Moreover, you've seen their abominations. Now, what are their abominations? They have idols of wood and stone and silver and gold that they had with them. Is that what people have got people's hearts in the world? God hasn't got their hearts but wood, stone, silver and gold. Amen? Now, who's behind every idol? The powers of darkness. I'm going to just say it. Demons. They're the ones that come and present to your mind to get your heart to go after something. When they get your heart going after it, they've got control over an area of your life. And that's what they come to do. That's why you're told to resist the devil so no idols will come to your heart. You don't love the world to thank the world. You love Jesus with all your heart and you resist the devil here so that his words and his idols won't come into your heart. Everything that results itself against the word of God, and you take every thought captive to Jesus. You don't let anything have your heart but God. Amen? Now, that's peace and rest. All right. Verse 18. Lest there should be among you a man or woman or a family or a tribe whose heart does what? Their heart's going to turn away from the Lord. And what's it going to turn away to? Wood, stone, silver, gold and idols. Is that right? And then when your heart turns away from the Lord, our God, you're going to serve who? You're going to serve the gods of the world. Now, you want me to tell you who the gods of the world is? Look at me. The powers of darkness have the world serving idols. It's got their hearts. God has got their hearts. The idols have got their hearts. have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world have got their hearts. The gods of the world If you just go to the look at these Hollywood stars in Inquire magazine. You'd say, hey, you know they're a star one day and the next day they don't favor nothing. I mean just deteriorated, you know, and just, and see that's what the powers They disappear. It's not right away. It's just like a mall. You eat the way on you hear me and see that people are wise They're all nice Just right away All right now so So that your heart turns away and the Lord and you go to serve these gods of the world That's what the date powers of darkness lest there be among you a root bearing what kind of fruit Poisonous fruit and what I'm what now, you know first creation five said a little 11 levels the whole loaf. Is that right? You throw the wicked man out. Is that right? Some people like to say his fellow slave But he's called a so-called brother in the same chapter. So what is poison fruit? Let me tell you what poison fruit is Poison fruit is fruit of the devil coming out of your mouth So it's just like a root of bitterness spring up and what they're going to do defile many Is that what Hebrews 12 it has a root of bitterness about because I go spread Unforgiveness and bitterness to someone and then the two of us can go get two more There's four go get eight and eight got sixteen and then the whole they got the whole of God and love one another they go out different doors and God's not doing nothing nothing zero Now that's how root is better because this is why in the body of Christ your Bible said you'd have church discipline Because you deal with bitterness you deal with everything on the band Why because when God's in you deal with the whole thing you start building up the wall That's how the wall is being built in the body of Christ and living stones that make up a spiritual house a holy priesthood It's going to offer up spiritual sacrifice except the God in Jesus Christ. We are holy generation a royal priesthood a peculiar people I said we'd peculiar the show for praise in the God. He has a heart not the world The show for all praises in him who's delivered us out of darkness now We've moved in to his life and it's all great and it's all him and he's the one we both in. Amen praise Jesus So We don't let us poisonous fruit when it builds up within the body of Christ. That's how that you're not unevenly yoked That's how you come out. You don't touch what is unclean. This is why a second Peter 2 The second Timothy 2 tells you that you cleanse the land you cleanse it How do you cleanse the land with the Word of God you come and look in the mirror and everything? It don't look like God in here you give it up Amen, and then you fellowship with those who come the Lord the pure heart How can Latin darkness walk together? How can righteousness and unrighteousness walk together? Tell me. All right, who do you love folks or God? Well, then you're gonna if he said if you love me, you're gonna obey my commandments then amen And John 3 said if you don't obey him you love darkness You can't have two masters. Do you hate one or love the other? I'll tell you fruit who you love Whether you come to the light or not Christians come to the light the people of God will come to the light. I mean they'll come to the light All right now in verse 19 and it shall be when he hears the words of this curse That he will both saying and this a lot of people are hearing these words today. And here's what they're saying. I Have peace Though I'm walking in rebellion and the stubbornness of my heart, you know that people are saying My heart's in rebellion of God and I have peace They hear this curse right here here in the word if you practice sin, you'll have no part in the kingdom of Christ or God That's Ephesians 5 5 and the Galatians 5 19 to 21 It says Ephesians 6 9 1st Corinthians 6 9 to 11 and they hear these things. I have peace though I walk in the stubborn heart. That's what happens when you get another gospel and another Jesus there's no peace there and Then if they're going you're destroying a watered land, that's the water with the word is to say I wish I'll never be willing to forgive him but rather the anger of the Lord There they are and his jealousy jealous of where their heart it's going to burn against that man and never curse It's written in this book going to what rest on him and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven What do you think about that? I'll tell you God won't solve your heart. You understand you understand that covenant never did change He wanted all your heart. That's why they made provisions for sin. Amen People know today what I want provision for sin All right. Now let's turn back over to Revelation 9. Now. He said he's going to turn them over to worship the works of their hands Revelation 9 right shake your head Okay verse 20 and The rest of mankind now Bob's gonna get into some of these this week and I'm telling you what you've gonna be so blessed I'm telling you what don't you miss any of these teaching this week if you possibly cannot I'm going to tell you because you're going To hear you're going to see with your eyes and things in Revelation. You've never seen before Amen Now verse 20 and the rest of mankind who was not killed by these plagues Did not repent of the works of their hands so as not to be worshiping who? Your worship indeed when you've got idols, you've got demons you're worshiping demons You know that when your heart goes out the world of things in the world man intellect theology And in buildings or whatever you have are worshiping demons That's how you can't take the table of Lord table of demons in 1st Corinthians 10 Amen, you can't take the table of demons and a table of what if your heart is working out if you come up and take the Table of the Lord, you know what when you take the table Lord, you're renewing death to yourself That's the reason many of you a week sick in the number die sleep Divided the foul hearts taken the supper of the heart to make a mockery of it So they didn't repent of the works of their hands So it's not to worship demons and the idols there He is so gold silver brass stone wood, which can neither see nor walk or hear now May I ask you something is there idols of gold and silver and $100 bills and buildings and stone and wood got people's hearts today Are they got any people's hearts today? It say they're people of God. They absolutely do Who do you think you're worshiping? What do you think happens to him when they take the Lord supper when when when they they love these things more than they do God And it goes what the form of God has lead you to can I just tell you hell? now in verse 21 and It's sad and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality Nor of their self, you know, the hearts lying stealing whatever now turn back back seven. We've got finished here If you I don't mind nobody getting too bored with the word. Are you? It's something in there's telling you you need to hurry home or something. We'll cast it out for you in a minute act 7 act 7 verse 39 Now and our fathers was unwilling to be obedient to him but reputed him in their hearts they turned back to Egypt and then look at the next verse in 41 and At that time they made a gold cast and it brought a sacrifice to the island rejoicing in the works They're having this in New Testament if we have that worked over an act I mean over in the Old Covenant But we see in verse 42 that God turns away from people who build up idols in their heart, is that correct? Now I want you to know if just for your own note there if you want to see Delivered them up to serve the host of heaven just put 2nd Chronicles 33 1 through 5 and you'll see how hezekiah worship the host of heaven, which is the power of the darkness, okay And now let's just continue in act 7. Let me read it to you again 2nd Chronicles 33 verses 1 through 5 now in act 7 Let's just continue in verse so the Lord turned away in 42 and he delivered him up to serve the host of heaven and now look in 44 and Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony. What was that tabernacle of testimony? uh the presence of God isn't they had the presence of God in the wilderness and just as he who spoke to Moses direct him to make an accord in the pattern which he'd seen and Having received it in their turn. Our fathers brought it with Joshua Which is a present represents the presence of Jesus upon what they do They dispossess the nations. Is that what we do? We have the presence of God who God drove out before our fathers until the time of David look in verse 48 However, the most high does not dwell in houses made by human hands as the prophet says Heaven is my throne. The earth is a footstool of my feet What kind of house you're going to build for me declares the Lord now folks? I want you all you're fixing to see the message for the day right now The message in one verse for the day and this is what God is saying the name first print 40 51 This is sermon Oh Stephen's preaching right here. I think it's a good one, isn't it? Now verse 51 he said you men are stiff-necked You're uncircumcised in the heart. You're lost and Your ears are always resisting the word the Holy Spirit You're doing just your father did you just walking after traditions? now verse 53 You who received the word of the law ordained by angels and yet you do not keep it That is the message today. Now when they heard this they were cut to the quick They began gnashing their teeth at them. You know what causes people to gnash. That's those powers of darkness to control them I mean you ever you ever seen those things start gnashing well when the truth start getting there and you start exposing storms on strongholds they start gnashing and So they nice their teeth, but Stephen here verse 55. He's being full of the Holy Spirit He gazed intently into heaven He's telling the truth and he saw the glory of God and Jesus stood up at the right hand of God He'd been sitting there and he said behold. I see the heavens open up and a son of man the Lord Jesus He's standing at the hand of God, but they cried out with a loud voice and they covered their ears They covered their ears They covered their ears and they rushed upon him with one impulse and when they driven him out of the city They began stoning him and a witness is laid aside the robes at a feet of a young man named Saul and that a pretty good testimony for somebody's about to read right two-thirds of the New Testament and And they went on stoning Stephen as he called upon the Lord and said Lord Jesus received my spirit and falling on his knees He cried out with a loud voice Lord Do not hold this sin against him boys walking in love and having said this he fell asleep a Stephen died and a Paul got born Amen, and then in Acts 8 Verse 1 and Saul was in the heart agreement with putting him to death and on that day a great persecution arose against the who now brother there was a church there was a real church in Jerusalem and God won't spread the word out So he let a little persecution come there and their mouth so he can spread the word and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria except The Apostles and then go to verse 4 therefore those who've been scattered they went about what? They preached the word verse 6 and I'm all accused with one accord were given attention here somebody else's from and said but Philip that they heard and saw God's working through Somebody since what you perform for in the case of the many who had unclean spirits They were coming out of them. They were shouting with a loud voice and many had been paralyzed and lame or being healed You know something folks I Don't expect manifestation to the powers of darkness when I used to expect them. I got them. I Don't expect them. I you know, why the grace of God that way Because people have been so programmed by Hollywood and television and Church to be scared of the power of the darkness the first time is a manifestation. They dropped their Bibles and take off It's really true and so God don't nice folks don't like shrieking And You know, he might let it change sometime but But as we don't expect Manifestation then usually if there's any kind of manifestation we need somebody to just try to receive the Lord Jesus Christ The manifestation is going to stop and if they want to cooperate with me just throw them out we don't let the devil come in and take over anything that the Lord is doing I Mean, it's just about time to do things God's way, right? Now folks don't ask you something. Did you see anything here tonight? It's gonna help you You know where all this points to it points to possessing the land, doesn't it? This concludes tape number six, please fast-forward this tape to return it to the beginning Please proceed to tape number seven where this message continues
