Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the necessity of moving beyond mere belief in God's omnipotence to actively participating in faith through obedience and action. He illustrates this with examples from the lives of Abraham and Peter, highlighting that true faith requires stepping out and trusting God, especially in challenging circumstances. The sermon warns against the complacency of the church, which acknowledges God's power but fails to act on it, and calls for a deeper intimacy with God to empower believers to perform His works. Beach stresses that the authority given to the church is meant to be exercised through faith, prayer, and a commitment to God's will, urging believers to confront their unbelief and embrace their role in God's plan.
Sermon Transcription
My pastor, my first pastor used to teach me, anyone can say God can do anything until you climb up a tree, you stand on the limb, and you start sawing it off, and then you say God can hold me up. See, it's easy to declare your belief in the omnipotence, that's all-powerful, the omnipotence of God. It's easy to declare your faith in the fact that God is able to do anything, I believe, but when God requires that profession of faith, when God requires you to act upon His Word in faith, believing that He's able to do it, then that's when all of a sudden we have to pray that God fills our heart with faith, and fills our heart with power. Then we have to believe that God fills our heart with faith and power, you see, and that's what the Lord is wanting to do in our lives and in our heart. That is, He wants to teach us how to participate with Him, and when you study the life of Abraham, you'll find that God revealed Himself to Abraham as the Almighty God, but then Abraham had to begin a journey with God, and it was a journey that necessitated obeying God, believing that God was able to do what He said He would do. It's easy to believe God when it doesn't require reckless faith. It's easy to believe God when it doesn't require that we have to step out and believe God. You know, it would have been easy for Peter to say, oh, I believe that I could walk on water if Jesus wanted me to, but then what happens when you hear the Lord say, come. All of a sudden, this faith that you have and the omnipotence of God is being tested in your heart. This is where, listen, this is where we are failing as a church in this late hour. We have no problem believing that God is able to do anything. We pray it regularly, don't we? We read it in the Bible. We affirm the stories of the God who was able to move the Red Sea, the God who is able to cause the Jordan River to flood its banks and be moved back so the children of Israel can walk over. We believe in Jesus, the one who is able to heal the sick. We believe that, but we have kept it at a distance, and now the Lord is requiring a company of people in this late hour to be so involved with Him and so intimately in union with Him so that they might be able not only just to believe God, but to act upon that belief through the energizing bidding of the Holy Spirit and see God do the miraculous and the supernatural and to see God perform His Word. Now, this is where the enemy comes in like a flood because he doesn't care how much we cry out, God, you're able to do anything. As long as we cry out, God, you're able to do anything, but I can't believe you for anything. You're able to do it, but I don't want to be a part of it. I don't want it to come to my life, come to my home, and require me to step out by faith on the Word of God. So let's just, you know, as long as we pray and as long as we acknowledge the sovereignty and the power of God, the enemy is saying, just leave him go. Leave him go. Because the Bible says in Hebrews chapter 11, but without faith it is impossible to please God. And that faith there, it's not talking about simply a general faith in the belief that God can do anything, because the devils have that faith. The devils believe and tremble. The devils believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. They said, we know who you are. Have you come to torment us before our time? So the Lord wants to nurture in us a living faith that takes our belief in the God who is able to do anything into a personal walk where we are believing God to do something specifically fulfilling his Word. It's called faith without works is dead. God wants to teach us how to believe him and then step out at his bidding and watch him perform his Word. See, it's true. God has no problem with being almighty and all-powerful, and God doesn't need any of us, but there's a mystery in the divine wisdom of God. Before Jesus came, why didn't God heal the sick that Jesus healed? Could God have done it before Jesus? Of course he could have, but it was God's intention to heal the sick through his Son. Then what about when Jesus anointed the apostles to heal the sick? Couldn't they have been healed apart from the apostles and apart from even Jesus just simply because God is God and he can do anything? Then why weren't they? Because it was part of God's divine wisdom to exercise, listen carefully, the omnipotent power that was demonstrated at the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was God's intention to exercise that through believing men. That's the key. This is where we need to focus in and see what the Lord Jesus is wanting to do. There's a reason why he's calling us into intimacy with Himself. There's a reason why he's calling us into a life of purity. There's a reason why he's calling us into a life of fellowship. There's a reason why he's dealing with our bitterness and our hatred and our seeds of unforgiveness. There's a reason why. There's a reason why he wants intimacy with us. It's not just simply so that we're clean and we know that we're close to God but he He wants to prepare us in order to have hearts that are able to believe Him and to believe His Word so that through you and I He can do great and mighty things. There's a reason why the Lord has given us a history where we know that we must die to ourself. Because He wants to entrust people who are dead to themself, who aren't living for vain glory, who aren't living for the cares of this life so that He can give them power to pray for the sick and they'll be healed. Do you believe that? Of course, He wants to do it. He wants to give us power to be witnesses. He wants to give us power. But before He does that, He must teach us to deny ourself, to take up our cross and to follow Him. He must teach us to exchange our selfish ambitions for a passion to only want His will to be done. I'd like to invite you, if you would please, do we have the time, please? Thank you, yes. Okay, thank you, brother. Let's bow our hearts and pray. Father, I thank you for the word of testimony that has come forth this morning. I thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit. I thank you for the word that you're bringing forth, Lord. I thank you, Lord, that by the word of God being spoken, the powers of darkness are disarmed. And they overcame Him, the Scripture says, in the book of Revelation, by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. I thank you, Lord, that we're trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ. I thank you, Lord, that we're learning to speak your word. We're learning to pray and wait and get a word from you, a living, lame a word, and then we're learning to speak that word into the congregation. We're learning to speak that word into our families. Hallelujah, we're learning to speak that word over our rebellious children. The word that you're gonna save them in spite of their rebellion. The word that you're gonna sanctify them in spite of their worldliness. Yes, Lord, thank you for that living word, and I also thank you that you're teaching us by the power of the life of Jesus Christ not to love our lives, that we're willing to lay our lives down even to death. Lord, I pray that you'll work these things in us deeply so that truly we can be your witnesses, and that by the power of that name of Jesus Christ, you might shake our homes and our cities and our towns, and that God might come on the scene, and the power of the devil might be cast out because he holds the territory unlawfully right now. It's not his to hold, and I praise you, Lord, in Jesus' name, amen. Somebody, please find the scripture, I can't think of it right now, where Jesus said, the prince of this world is now cast out. The prince of this world is now cast out. Hallelujah to God. Hallelujah to God. I'll tell you, the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. You know, there's a great, great move of the Holy Spirit that is occurring, and there is a great war that is being fought. Don't let any Christian tell you that there's no spiritual warfare going on. The Bible says in Ephesians chapter 6, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against, against principalities, against spiritual wickedness, against the powers of hell that are walking in the air. And I'm telling you, brothers and sisters, by the authority of the word of God, that if you begin by the Spirit of God to see the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ and the finished work of the Son of God, and you begin to build your life upon the word of God and the finished work of Christ, and you claim the blood of Christ as your forgiveness, you claim the power of the Spirit of God as the force walking in you, the person that is walking in you that is going to enable you to do and obey all that God has called you to do, if you hang your life on the person of Jesus Christ, and you get nuts about the blood of Jesus, and claim it, and live by it, and die by it, and come into the presence of God on the merits of Christ alone, and you get the word of God in your heart, and you meditate on the word of God, and you believe the word of God, and you think on the word of God, and you meditate, and you cry out, God, give me a heart for your word. You're going to enter into a war. You're going to enter into a war. Oh, yes, you are. You're going to enter into a war. The very powers of hell are going to be shaken by one person, not to mention a thousand, not to mention ten thousand. The very powers of hell are going to be shaken. Why? Because by faith you are exerting the authority of the Son of God. You see? Who's got that scripture? Anybody? No one's got it yet? Okay, keep searching. I know someone's got some concordances. Hallelujah to God. There's a war going on, and I want you to know this morning, as the testimonies were coming forth, as the saints were speaking, the enemy was being defeated. You see, the enemy is not defeated when we just silently endure his slander and silently endure his lies, and then what happens is it starts infesting our spirits, and it starts discouraging us, and depressing us, and causing us to doubt. And before you know it, we're living in a state where in spirit we've given up. In spirit. John 12, 31. The way to combat that feeling of despair and depression, and in spirit you give up, and you faint, is by meditating upon the Word of God, waiting upon the Holy Spirit, and when God quickens His Word, you speak that Word. You speak that Word. When Moses was commanded by God to go and tell Pharaoh to set God's people free, what happened? The burdens got worse. Pharaoh got angry and made the burdens of the Israelites worse, and everybody then got mad. The Israelites got mad. They started yelling at Moses, Oh, Moses, you must be hearing voices. You must be crazy. I thought God commanded you to do this. Here you spoke the Word, and everything got worse, Moses. Oh, I tell you, those Israelites were the voices of all the demons and devils that were speaking out, because Moses was commanded of God to do it, but God knows that many times when He commands us to speak, now, it's not an authority inherent in ourself. It's not metaphysics. It's not that we are gods. The authority that the believer has is purely based upon the authority that belongs to Jesus Christ. It is His authority that is being executed through the blood-washed child of God by the quickened Word of God. Now, the Lord knows that when the enemy is challenged by the authority of Christ, remember, He is a conquered foe. He is conquered. When was the last time in prayer you acknowledged in the presence of God, I don't recommend talking to the devil unless he talks to you and then rebuke him by the Word of God? But when was the last time in the presence of God you thanked the Lamb who conquered hell, death, and the grave, and destroyed the power of the devil? He needs to be reminded. Really, you need to be reminded. He's well aware of the fact that He's been conquered, and His power against the church today is based upon their failure to recognize He has been conquered. And so, therefore, we give Him the place that legally He doesn't really have. We give it to Him because we are just bound by fear. We're just afraid. We don't believe what God has done through His Son, and we don't believe what God has done in us through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. We don't believe in the power of the cross. John 12, verse 28. Father, glorify Thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify it again. The people therefore that stood by and heard it said that it thundered. Others said an angel spoke to him. Verse 30, Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of Me, but for your sakes. Would to God that the Lord could begin to work within the church in such a measure where God would move in a supernatural way, but it wouldn't be for the sake of the saints. Jesus said God didn't speak from heaven for My sake. I don't need God to do anything supernatural to believe Him. I don't need God to move mountains to believe Him. I don't need God to do anything. I know my God. It doesn't matter if darkness surrounds me. This is how Jesus' soul was. It doesn't matter whether God forsakes me. I believe in my God. I live by faith, not by sight. I always do those things that are pleasing in God's eyes. Would to God the Lord's people would spend so much time with Jesus that their souls wouldn't need a sign to believe, but they could say when God does the supernatural, this isn't for our sake. We already believe our God. This is for your sake that you might believe. But now the church is longing for a sign because they don't believe. They want God to do something to help them believe, but it shouldn't be like that. Shouldn't be like that. We should be able to say this has happened for your sake. Now do you believe? Now are you persuaded? Okay. Verse 31. Now is the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Now, beloved, I want you to please fix your eyes upon verse 31 and read it to yourself as I read it aloud. Ready? Here we go. Now is the judgment of this world. Notice that word does not indicate the future, nor does it indicate the past, but it indicates now, at that time, the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This, he said, signifying what death he should die. Based upon the word of God, Jesus Christ boldly declared that now, at that time, as the result of the atoning sacrifice that he himself became on the cross of Calvary, at that time, the prince of the world was to be cast out. God, open our eyes to see and our ears to hear. Even as your prophet Elijah prayed that you would open the eyes of his servant, that he would see that there were many more that were for them than there were against them. Beloved, the greatest kept secret in the church today is the fact that now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Beloved, the greatest kept secret from the hearts of God's people is the fact that Jesus Christ has conquered Satan. I love to say it. I've been saying it and I'm gonna keep saying it. Jesus Christ has conquered Satan. Hallelujah to God. Don't you love the sound of those words? Jesus Christ has conquered Satan. Everyone together. Jesus Christ has conquered Satan. That's what the word says. He conquered him when he said it is finished. He conquered him when on the third day the stone was rolled back and my God, the tomb was empty. He conquered him when he rose up and he ascended and he sat down at the right hand of God Almighty. All powers, all authorities being subject to him, there is not one power or one authority that is in this world or that is in heaven or that is in under the earth that is not subject to the incredible person of Jesus Christ. There's not one power that is not subject to him. The prince of this world has been cast out. Ephesians chapter one, verse number 17. May God help us to see. Verse number 17, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the father of glory may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. I am quite persuaded, matter of fact I am fully sure that the thing that Paul had in his heart when he wrote this prayer down directly relates to what we read in John 12, 31. That this prayer reflects the desire of the Holy Spirit to make known to the church of Jesus Christ the glorious fact that Satan has been conquered at Calvary. He's been cast out, his power's been destroyed and now my God, the captives can be set free. My God, what do you think Isaiah chapter 61 is all about? You keep your finger there in Ephesians chapter one but I just wanna read this. I wanna read it as a rhema, as a living word. The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek. He hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. Satan has been cast out. Jesus said, if I, Jesus, be lifted up I will draw all men unto myself. The power has been given to Christ. The victory has been won by Christ. The authority has been given to Christ and now the captives, you remember the dream that I shared last week? Oh, the light that's been coming. I looked and there was a whole city. Every single person in the city was bound in feet and arms in front of their homes but God has recently spoke to me and said, son, declare that it's time to set the captives free. It's time to proclaim liberty. They're bound, I saw it but they don't have to be bound. They don't have to be bound because Jesus Christ has gotten the victory for them. The word of God says that Christ is now King of kings and Lord of lords. Listen, the devil was at one time the God of this world but he's not anymore. Jesus is now sitting and reigning. Do you believe? My God. He said, it's time to proclaim. It's the year of the Lord. It's the acceptable year of the Lord. Listen, this isn't a matter of mustering up personality. It's not charisma. I'm just an excitable person. That's why I'm doing this. This isn't the anointing just because I'm moving around. Brothers and sisters, it's not based on a personality. It's based on a revelation that Jesus is victor. Hallelujah. That's what it's based on. I just get excited. I'm sorry. I like to jump. You say, oh, I don't think I could get excited like that. Well, you don't have to but I don't know how you can remain unexcited if you see that Jesus is the victor. Let me tell you brothers and sisters, everybody's bound in the city. I saw it. Everybody's bound. And I was wondering, God, why are they bound? Why are they bound? I believe that God showed me the reason why they're bound because nobody, nobody is declaring to them that they've been set free in Jesus' name. You see, the authority, the authority that is in the head, the power against all the devil has now been delegated to the church and the church now, through the power of the Holy Spirit, through dying to self, self-interest, self-motivation, is now to be God's representative because Christ lives in the church. And when the church dies to self and lives unto holiness, then it is the power of Christ through the church enabling the church to speak the word of deliverance to the captives. And let me tell you, it's not a matter of trying to get them free. They're already free. Can you see it? They're already free. Say, they don't look free. Well, that's because you're looking at an illegal act. My God, if I owned a home and I had people living in that home and their lease ran out and on the lease it said, if you don't pay your money by such and such date, your landlord, the owner of this property, has the legal right to tell you to leave. And if a week goes by, two weeks go by, and I come to find out that they haven't left, then I send Norman, my representative. Norman works for me. I own the property, but Norman is on my payroll. And I say, Norman Spencer, you go to that house, you knock on the door and you speak to them by my name and the authority of the contract. And you say, you must leave. You're not trying to work up the power to do anything. It's already been done. It's already been done. So the authority that Norman has is based on whether he really believes in the legal contract that I showed him. If he really believes in it, he's not going to try and throw him out. He's going to decree, you have been thrown out. Your time is up. And that's exactly what God is going to do in this late hour as we come to a new millennium and we see the calendar moving to the year 2000, God is going to anoint his people and they are not going to evoke themself. They're not going to lift themself up. They're going to be dead to self and dead to the world and dead to the devil. They're going to have the word of God in their mouth and in their heart. And they're going to speak. They're not going to try. They're not going to try and muster it up. They're not going to try. Oh God, oh God, I got to fight this battle. No, it's not a battle fought like that. It's a battle that's already been won. My God, it's already been won. Listen, the battle is not to try and overcome the enemy. He's already been overcome. The battle is to keep a mindset, realizing you work out from victory. You work through victory. That's the battle. Not working up something, but standing on the fact that you already conquered. You already conquered. You already conquered, devil. That's the victory that God has for us. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. You know when the anointing of God is going to rest on the church heavily? When the church finally realizes it's not about them. It's not about getting your own dreams and your own visions. It's not about using God to become some king over a kingdom. It's not about using God to control people. It's not about using God to ask him for all the loss of your heart. It's all about Jesus. It's all about a people dying to their own interests and having a heart broken because God, God needs to secure his rights in the earth. You want something to enlarge your vision? Go to Psalm 2. For weeks, the Lord has not let me leave this Psalm. I go to it and I'm crying and weeping because it's so big. But this is what God says in Psalm 2. Hallelujah to God. Verse number six. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. That's talking about Jesus Christ. I will declare the decree the Lord has set unto me. Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee. Verse number eight, get a hold of this beloved. Ask of me, ask of me and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possessions. Do we believe that it is God's right now to declare to the world, you belong to me because I bought the whole field when I saw that there was a current of great price within it. I bought the field, it's mine. The cattle are mine. The governments are mine. The schools are mine. The institutions are mine. Every throne, every authority, every government in this world was created by God and for God. By God and for God. Why is the devil using it then? Why? Because there's a sleeping church in the world. The church that's asleep. You say, but God can do it. But can he do it through you? Well, well Brother Beach, I mean God, God can do it. But can he do it through you? Well, I don't think it really, I don't think it really hangs upon me. It's God. But can he do it through you? You mean God wants to do it through me? Yes, through you. That's what the church is. That's what the church is. You know what the problem is? Go to Acts. Oh God help us. Acts chapter one, verse number hallelujah. Verse number hallelujah. No, verse number four, chapter one. Here's what the problem is. Right now we're gonna deal with the spirit. And I pray this spirit is destroyed. I mean I pray it is destroyed because it's taken God's people from what the issue is. Watch this. And Jesus said, wait for the promise of the Father, which sayeth he, you have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him. Look what the church here is asking Jesus when they come together. No wonder we're missing it. Now watch what they do. Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in his own power, but you shall receive power, dynamis. After that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost parts of the earth. We are still asking the wrong questions and missing God's intention. We are still gathering together and asking, Lord, is it now time that you're gonna restore the kingdom? Are you coming now, Lord? Is it now time that you're gonna do this with this nation? Oh, people of God, hear the voice, hear the spirit of God in the word of God. It is not for you to know the times and seasons. Don't be sucked in to this inordinate lust to wanna know what's gonna happen. God says, it's not for you to know these things, but tarry until you be endued with power that ye might be my witnesses. Listen, we're so busy wanting to know what's gonna happen next that we fail to be witnesses for God. We have failed as the church to go into a city and fast and pray and believe God for that city. We're too preoccupied with questions that don't matter, with questions that we shouldn't be asking. We're too busy and we're not tarrying and waiting and looking and believing and encouraging one another. We shouldn't rest until we know that the city that we live in is being shaken. We shouldn't rest until we have asked the Lord for the city and have seen God begin to shake it. Ask of me and I will give you the heathen for thine inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth. My God, oh my God, this is what God wants. This is what He wants. Everywhere Jesus went, He shook the world. In Matthew chapter four, Matthew chapter four, 12 through 17, listen to this. Now when Jesus heard that John was cast into prison, He departed him to Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali by the way of the sea beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. The people which sat in darkness saw a great light and them which sat in the region and the shadow of death, light is sprung up. And from that time, Jesus began to preach, to say, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Verse number 23, and Jesus went all about Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases among the people. Listen, and His fame went throughout all Syria and they brought unto Him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torment and those which were possessed with devils and those which were lunatic and those that had the palsy and He healed them all. And there followed Him great multitudes of people from Galilee and from Depocalypse and from Jerusalem and from Judea and from beyond Jordan. The fame of Jesus spread throughout the known world, why? Because He was the one that was to come, that was to buy back the world, to buy back humanity. He took the power of hell from the devil. He took the keys from the devil and He secured them and He said, I am the man, the Son of God and I've come to declare liberty. I've come to bring the authority of God on the sea. And now this is all in Jesus and now Jesus has given it to the church. And what is the church doing? Awake thou that sleepest and arise and Christ shall give you light. Arise and shine for thy light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. My God, it's real. We see that Jesus shook the known world. We see that the authority of Jesus Christ that was manifested through His ministry was passed on by the will of the Father to the apostles. And we find in Luke chapter 10, verse nine and 19, Jesus gave His apostles and He also gave 70 other disciples power against the authority of the devil. Power to cure the sick, power to cast out demons, power to raise the dead. So it went from the head to the apostles, to the 70. And then in order to make it perfectly clear that God wasn't holding out for some special remnant of people, God then generalized it once and for all in Mark 16, 16, where He said, and these signs shall follow them that what? Believe. And that believe there is not exclusive, meaning it's not only the apostles believe or the disciples or those who are with Jesus. Now it's whoever dares to believe God, whoever dares to believe in the Son of God, whoever dares to die to self and to be filled with the Spirit of God and to seek the purity of Christ and to seek the holiness of Christ, whoever dares but believe in the Son of God, they shall what? Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. They shall cast out devils. They shall what? Handle scorpions and serpents and shall not be harmed. Do you see? So the authority of the head is now intended by God to be manifest through His corporate body. It's not a matter of your holiness or my holiness. It's not a matter of your fight and my fight. It's a matter of coming into the victory that has already been won at Calvary and declaring that victory to the heavens, declaring it to the earth. God told Ezekiel, prophesy to the winds, prophesy to the heavens, prophesy, speak. God was showing us in Ezekiel there that that was a picture of the victories that were wrought on Calvary. And as the believers, those representing God on the earth, we are to speak by the Holy Ghost and declare the victory of Calvary in the heavens. We're to declare it to the multitudes. We're to believe God. That's it. I've got so many scriptures here. That's the introduction. That's the introduction. Listen, you go through the book of Acts. Everywhere that early church went, the powers of hell were shaken. The glory of God came. Men were saved. Devil... That we don't have? Absolutely not. Some might believe that, and that's okay if they believe it. I still love them. I'll still fellowship with them, but I don't believe it. I believe that Jesus Christ is the same. Yesterday, today, and forevermore. I believe that God is the God that says, I am the Lord and I change not. See, I believe that. We're gonna close. I wanna close with a very thought-provoking, heart-searching statement that I want you to think about now in light of this glorious victory, because it's all good, isn't it? But watch. Watch. Matthew 13. Turn there, please. I'm sorry. Forget that. Matthew 17. Matthew 17. Verse 14. And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him man kneeling down to him, saying, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and sore vexed. For oftentimes he falls into the fire and often into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. These are disciples that Jesus gave power to. They couldn't cure him. What happened? I thought Jesus gave him power to cure the sick. He did, but they couldn't cure him. Watch this. And Jesus said, oh, faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil and he departed out of him that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus alone and said, why could we not cast him out? And Jesus said, because of your unbelief. For verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible to you. Howbeit this kind cometh not out, but by prayer and fasting. I close this morning with the sobering, heart-piercing words of Jesus Christ, who speaks to the church in this hour and says, all power is given to me, Jesus, in heaven and earth. I have given you power against all the power of the devil, and yet the sick, spiritually and physically, are not being healed, and it is because of your unbelief. God, begin to teach us the roots of our unbelief. Deliver us and fill our hearts with the faith that we might believe and see the glory of God. Father, thank you for your presence. I'm asking you, Lord, to take your word and cause it to find good ground, cause it to grow. Lord, we submit to you, we come to you, and we ask that you'll do the impossible in our midst. Enlarge our faith, help us to believe, and show us your glory. Lord, we want to agree that everything your Holy Spirit shows us regarding our personal life, any sin, any impurity, anything that needs to be corrected through repentance, we ask that you give us the power to do it so that nothing hinders us from being representatives of the glory of God in this earth. Father, give us what we have seen. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. Hallelujah to God. A few men, if you'll please work together, and the ladies too, with Norman and myself, and help us get things together. We need workers to take the back down.
