Sermon Summary
Derek Melton passionately calls for Spirit-filled warriors of the Cross to rise up and speak against the injustices and perversions that are corrupting the nation. He questions the silence of Christians in the face of moral decay and challenges them to be like the watchmen in Isaiah 62:6-7 who never hold their peace day nor night. The sermon emphasizes the urgent need for anointed men and women of God to confront the darkness and stand as pillars of Truth in society, echoing the words of John Wesley about the power of a few dedicated individuals to shake the world for God.
We Need a Holy Shaking!
Isaiah 62:6-7 6 "I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: yet that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence," 7 "And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth." John Wesley once said: "Give me one hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I will shake the world." We are truly living in an age in need of a holy shaking! This nation is in need of Spirit-filled warriors of the Cross to stand up and speak the Truths that have been trampled under our feet for the last one hundred years. We need anointed men and women of God back in our government crying out against the perversion therein. Why have the Christians cowered down to the political pressures and the humanists and liberals? Why? Where are the watchmen that never hold their peace day nor night? Why aren't they crying out against these injustices that are rotting our nation from within? Militant homosexuals are marching down the streets of our cities engaging in homosexual acts in public places and we seem to cower down and allow them to control our cities and streets. Our government approves of such rot but we cannot pray before a football game! The liberal media makes such groups out to be normal and when righteous men stand up against them the media portrays them as lunatics. In our society right has become wrong and wrong right. Normal is dysfunctional and dysfunctional has become normal. The minority controls the majority and we are allowing it to happen. How could a Christian nation allow prayer to be taken out of our Schools because a few liberals objected? Why did we bow down and accept these decisions that are affecting the well being of our children? Where have the watchmen been? They have been silent! When the Christian people of our nation heard the news of our government wanting to remove God from our schools we were silent! We did not cry out day and night, we were silenced and all that we have spilled blood over in the name of religious freedom was lost! Docile, mundane Christians allowed the enemy to come into their own camp and we willingly laid down every right and freedom our forefathers believed in, fought for and died for. It is becoming a normal thing to hear of school shootings on the evening news. It is a normal thing to hear of more legislation restricting the freedoms of law-abiding citizens. It is a normal thing to hear grotesque reports of our government funding late-term abortions with Christian's tax-dollars. It is a normal thing to hear a report of a teen-age boy killing one of his or her siblings. Yet, it is abnormal to hear of anointed men of God speaking out against the diseases of our nation. The fact is if we continue to keep our mouths shut, and continue cowering down to these minority liberal atheists, our nation will be ruined. Where are the Wesley's and the John Knox's, the William Booths and the Jonathan Edwards? We need more Holy Spirit filled pillars of Truth in our society that will be a voice in the wilderness. Men of renown that never bow before men and or the pressures of a lost liberal government! Bloody Mary of England shuddered at the thought of John Knox the mighty warrior for the Lord! Who will God raise up in the midst of these years that will shake the dust from America and confront its sinful standards? What about you? Are you willing to surrender to the great call of God and be sent as a voice of one crying in the wilderness? One man can shake a nation if God is with him. It is a historical fact that John Wesley transformed the entire nation of England and left it changed and holy! Why couldn't God do that to America through you? Ravenhill once said, "America does not have revival because she is willing to live without it!" We just keep slipping further and further into the darkness of the pit and just as Mr. Lincoln said: "America will be destroyed from within." I challenge you to seek the face of God and to become a watchman on the walls of our nation. Speak out against the ungodly acts of our nation. Never keep your silence!
