God lives and works today. His love is making us a royal offer through which our lives can be completely transformed. And yet, God must experience time and again that we would much rather believe in human offers than in His. Blessed is he who accepts the royal offer of the Lord. He will never regret it, as we'll see in today's meditation by Basilia Schling. Jesus is love everlasting. He came to us below, that unto all His children a selfless love might show. With love still Jesus is seeking For hearts which are aflame For sacrificial giving Inspired by love for Him Eternal love is still waiting And bleeds with every heart O won't you hear and answer I cannot bear to part Jesus walks up and down the streets, in and out of the houses. He has something to offer. What is it? It is His love. Everyone He meets, He stops and asks, Will you take what I have to offer? It is my love. You are seeking something to make you happy. You would give good money for it, expend your time and energy. I am offering you my love. In it you will find everything that you're looking for, and everything that could make you happy. Believe me, accept it. Those to whom He speaks answer, What do we have to do for this? He says, Make room so that my love can pour in. My gift of love cannot be compared with anything else, neither with a person, nor with an object that could be loved. The one condition is that you make room for it. I cannot make this gift to a heart which is already filled. There would be no room for it. I am seeking hearts which have been emptied. Therefore, cast out everything that fills your heart, and you will gain the most precious object in the world, the closest, the holiest, and strongest bond of love between us. Yes, what Jesus is offering us is the supreme gift, He Himself. Loving Jesus means to have and hold for one's own the greatest treasure of earth and heaven. Loving Jesus means to lavish on Him the offering of oneself. Therefore, let our answer be, O make me Thine, Take all I love and treasure, My life, my honor, Is that brings me pleasure, And shows my love. Yes, make me Thine.
