Greetings to each of you. It's a real joy to be at Lake Verona. I've looked forward to it for quite a while. I've been trying to go out very, very much in reference to it. I say this without mention, we have three assemblies, and it's our own people. Three commencement addresses, and at least two junior and senior. So we're quite pleased that we see... Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 3... I think perhaps it's 3 and verse 10. Consider him, may know him. I would like to read with you... Loveliness. John chapter 4. Winter for the Lord knew... He met Judea and departed again into Galilee. And he must need to go through. Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar. Near to the parts of the ground. Jesus, therefore, being weary with his journey, Jesus saith unto her, Give thee drink. Then saith the woman of Samaria, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no feelings with us. Jesus answered, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Drink of him, and he will have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Where is this? From which then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall live. But whosoever drinketh of the water of the spring, and of every lasting life, give me this water. Jesus said unto her, Go, call thee to come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, For thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast, in that saidst thou truly, receive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place. Jesus said unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship ye know not what. We know what we worship, is of the Jews. But the hour cometh from now in, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father, and seek of such to worship. God is a spirit, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit, and in truth. The woman said unto her, When he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus said unto her, Believe, and upon this came his disciples. Then no man said, The woman then left her water pot, and went away into the city. Come, see a man, which told me all things, that ever I did, is not this. Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. In the meanwhile, as his son was praying and saying, Master, eat. Jesus said unto them, My need is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. May the Lord richly bless, and I'm sure he will bless, the reading and the hearing of this precious and holy word. Throughout the past week, men have had their favorite candidates before the nation. There has been much in the way of eulogy. Great things have been said of them. They have been pictured to us as men that are needed to fill the breach that exists at the present, nationally and internationally. My refined words have said all this. Well, may God in his infinite wisdom and tender mercy give us the man that we need, for surely we need a man to fill the breach that has been infected by the power of evil. The inroads and the penetrations are deep indeed, and they are very broad there. One wonders how much longer God is going to permit these things to continue. One wonders if the rapture of the church is not just before us. And surely we will know him as the living God in our Lord Jesus Christ. We who know him as the altogether lovely one, we should point him up as the alone remedy for the conditions that prevail individually, collectively, nationally, and internationally. For every child of God knows without equivocation that alone, the alone remedy, he is the only way back to God. And this is the solution to be brought, brought into those still in nature's darkness, alienated from God. May it be that during these meetings we are so able to present Christ to you in all of his glory and majesty, and the beauty that is unparalleled in his love with us. No doubt to you. When I hear that I gather this from the tip of another, he has said, let's build three tabernacles, one for thee. He did put the Lord first, but now, how he has degraded and warred in these days and times. Even to the point of being the illegitimate son, he has anointed with the oil of man. This is not a temporary shadow, but the truth. Christ is not a provisional makeshift, but a perfect manifestation. Christ is not a social organ, a savior of man. Christ is not a figment of the real. If you are saying this, oh may it be that during these, he believed in his head, but in memory. But when I was about him, the misery of my sin, and remorse and anguish of heart and mind. Do you know anything about it? In this day of loose, I don't say these things to be critical. For if there is anything worthwhile, it's being a real Christian. And this is a big thing. We need many women, who have no saffron streaks down their backbones. We need them with backbones like ramrods, to stand for our Lord Jesus Christ. If there is anything, in the very beginning of it, you have the deity of our Lord Jesus. We say the Lord knew. Then it says, so his deity is seen on the one hand, in every instance that you have in the Bible, where his humanity is set forth, you will find in that same place, reference to his deity, to the sleep and the ship. But he arose, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still. His deity is in evidence. He is truly the Lord Jesus. We would truly say, with Thomas of old, my Lord, and we consider his devotion and the beauty as set forth in the true antidote. In the first instance, those unattractive persons, his skin, no beauty that we should desire him, is seen in the weary Jew, seated on Cyprus' well, as the woman Samaria observed, dusty, tired, seated on the well, adieu to her, very unattractive. You think it is adieu enough? Give up the other. If I give up him, if it were not, salvation is not giving up, but receiving. Oh, how much I have received. And then the second curtain, the curtain is seen in the expression, he must need the true Samaria, him caught by his forearms, on the mount, used instead of Isaac, held by the very place of his power, not by Roman spears, not by the guard that was there, not by the Sanhedrin, not by the scribes and the Pharisees, not even by the Nago. Devoted even unto death, seen for this reason, as he unclothed, that she might see herself in the presence of the living God. And this certainly, the negation for God, unclothed his forearms, she rejoiced, plainly, she was bowed upon, and I am, thus the term for Jehovah, I that speak unto thee, and he, before Abraham was, I, O what unparalleled loveliness is presented, behold, true beauty, it is nearest, indeed it is all, but here we see in him those more, he must need, as far as any revelation is concerned, here is Joseph, a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a whale, the wall that hedged in him, the nation of Israel, a futurist, God's fruitful bough, even the Lord Jesus, his secret commandment, go not in the way of the Gentiles, or any city of the Samaritans, enter ye not in, but go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Thus, my friends, we see the Lord Jesus Christ, the one in whom is found both grace and truth, he shows that the evidence, he must, to heal my all. May it be that during these conferences, more and more, the realization of what we see, who gave his all, his devotion, God's first of all, what devotion indeed, here we see, all the sins and fragrance to God, when the fire is placed there, the sacrifice of the fire, fragrance to the nostrils, and devotion, that he might say, he reached even to me, hold me out of heart, and these flow outwards, more and more, as we awaken, manward, father, for I know not, the altogether loveliness, what loveliness, is seen in him, as he expresses his prayer, I have rediction to his blood, even, father, I have sinned, thank thee, he is just, and justified indeed, he is also faithful, faithful, yes, faithful to that prayer, father, forgive them, righteous, because he has a righteousness, there must be no forgiveness, it must be paid for, there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared, not like some people in the earth, sin is to be hated, God hates sin, my friend, thus his devotion is seen, father, forgive them, in church with Christ, love the church, and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it, for the washing of the water of the world, worldward, ah yes, my friend, for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not, is he not lovely, in his devotion, is he even, his conversation, my, how those lips, that have been anointed with grace, through chapter four, they marvel at the great deed, what wondrous words, what gracious words, what precious language, when he said, neither do I condemn thee, oh, and still, seemingly so at least, she meets the Lord Jesus Christ, in her heart, disappointment, disillusionment, dissatisfaction, verily, verging on the despair, the Lord knew he would meet her there, and he hath assured her, whosoever drinketh of this water, shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of it, he the greatest, never walketh off, for the sake of this poor woman, and all her sin and misery, I have that which will satisfy the longing of your brothel, the craving that is found there, the thirst of your life, to say it enough to mean it, what a bastard, but ah, he is the Lord, he is the fountain of life, he is the well, he has the well, yet satisfied not. Hail him, that we together, may know, hail him, that ever, height and depth, with the telescope, or with the microscope, there are those unsearchable spaces, that we may indeed explore, we may explore, for our joy, our delight, nevertheless, there is hope for the hopeless, there is fullness for emptiness, which is, my, how good it is to know him tonight, as Savior, and as Lord. Thirdly, he is lovely in his penetration, I thank God tonight, I thank God that he knows every corner, every crevice, I thank God for the knowledge of those eyes that praise the fire, that intellect and perfect wisdom searches out the innermost recesses of the soul, and I am before him, in all that I am. His penetration, or his loveliness, is deepest in his discernment. He tells me exactly my needs, and then provides what that means. He shows me my sinfulness, and then provides cleansing for it. Praise the Savior. He reveals to me my incidents, and then provides all I need to feel He shows me that all the wells, the cisterns in time, that can hold the water, they are broken cisterns. Do you know it? If you know it not, we do not exist. Who beholds your heart, knows your thoughts afar off, knows the longings and the cravings, he knows the disappointments, every problem that's found there, he has the answer. The conscience is reached, the will is yielded, the heart is opened, because of him. You who seek to reach others, if that conscience, if that will is not yielded, will never be opened. The life, I care not for the hand raising, the card signing, there must be reality. The home, the hallways of school, that is the conscience is increased, the will will never be yielded, and it's the citadel of the life. The fortress of the life is not surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ, absolutely and unconditionally. God is never really open, so you find them flitting from this place, seeking something to satisfy a longing in the bosom that can never be satisfied. The revelation, we rejoice that God does not merely take us down to the depths of needlessness, he does not reveal to us God without providing a way out, is the answer. Marvelously, there is a new race, inferior group, new companions, they are the only good Indians about, I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives. I'm in a new race, folks, praise God that I know something, new race, and a new place, the spirit God, dwelling within us, we are worshipers of the living God, crucified in Jesus, I behold him, there is a new disgrace too, a new disgrace, and the Lord Jesus said to this woman, it is not merely singing hymns, not merely reading the Word, not merely praying, w-o-r-t-h-s-h-i-t, what it means to God, and come to God presenting Christ in that measure alone to you or I. I, the spirit, you arrive at a place, not geographically, but you arrive at that place morally and spiritually. Now many of us talk about have you arrived, and the place of God is of clean, non-joy, there is no place for sin there, there is no place for self there, and there is sin, self, and the social question. I realize that heaven, the dean of the college, associated with such a humble group of people, all of those markings according to a fool for Christ, that's his revelation, fitly, and you never will be rebuked, and speaking well, will always serve and stand, for the end, for all that he is in himself, his manifestation, doubly, in manifesting himself. I, that speaker of the dean, am, he is altogether lovely indeed, unparalleled loveliness, manifested in his devotion, in his conversation, in his penetration, in his revelation, in his manifestation. And my friend is telling me that this universe is what has created with a purpose that is enthroned in the midst of it, every intelligent creature, to lift the voice in praise, continually, to the Son, to the glory of God, forever. He, who stood, he was Jehovah, the eternally self-existing God, he is Emmanuel, God, without, he is the mediator, God, and man. As God, perfectly comprehending all the requirements of the throne of God, the holiness and the majesty of that throne that I sinned against, man, understanding perfectly all my needs, he, takes the hand of God and the hand of a poor old sinner, as it did Sica as well, and restored them to God.
