or even higher. It's not lower, it's not higher, it's the same. The only difference is that in the old covenant they could not come up to that standard. We read in Matthew's Gospel, chapter 22. We read in Matthew's Gospel, chapter 22. Somebody came to Jesus and said, verse 36, Which is the great commandment in the law? If somebody were to ask you, What is the great commandment in CFC? Don't look at the answer there. You tell me, what will you say? That we don't have pastors. We don't take a collection. Or we have conferences. What is the great thing in CFC? For the Jews, the great commandment was you must keep the Sabbath, don't work on the Saturday. But when they came to Jesus, that's not what he said. But when they came to Jesus, that's not what he said. The great commandment is to love God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. You cannot take that by itself. It's like a coin. You can't get a coin with only one side on it. You can't get a currency note with only one side printed. The other side is as important as the front side. So, Jesus said the great commandment is love God with all your heart and soul and mind. And you must love your neighbor as yourself. It's like, you know, in the cross there are two arms. One is to teach me that I must love God with all my heart, soul and mind. And the other is horizontal. I must love my neighbor as myself. That is the unchanging law of God. It has never changed. From the time God created man, this is the law. The ten commandments are just an explanation of this, that's all. Everything in the New Testament is how to live like this. And the best church is the one which has got the maximum number of people who live like this is the best CFC church. There are so many other things we do in CFC. We don't take a collection here. It doesn't mean we don't need money. To build a building like this requires a lot of money. We've got a bigger building than this in Bangalore. It costs money. To put all our messages on the internet, that costs a lot of money. And we give it free. And so many things cost money, but we don't ask people to give. Because when they give their heart, they'll give everything. So we don't ask for the thing first. So this is the ultimate law of God. If you do all the other things but you don't fulfill these two, you have not really obeyed God's law. See, people ask about wearing jewelry. Can you wear it, not wear it? I say to me, that is not the first commandment. Love God with all your heart. It's like somebody said, the whole law is here. You love God and then you can do what you like. Because if you love God with all your heart, you decide what sort of dress you should wear. How you should spend your money. We don't make rules in this church, whether you can buy a car or a scooter or not. No, no, no rules. Only love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the rest is dependent on these two. This is the root. From this root, if you do anything, it's right. See, one sister may wear jewelry and another sister doesn't wear. We are not here to judge one another. Somebody buys a scooter, somebody buys a car. We don't judge anybody. Somebody may have a house with three bedrooms, somebody else with one bedroom. We make no laws in CFC. There are churches that preach these laws. Like, there are some churches where they say everybody must wear white. When I started, in the beginning, I also used to wear white. But it used to get dirty very quickly. I could not afford so much money to have so many white shirts and pants. There's no rule like that, you must wear white. It's a wonderful thing to live with this double law. Love God with all your heart, soul and strength. Love everybody as you love yourself. So, I spoke about the fire of love in my last message. This is the fire. If you really have this fire, the fire of God, which makes you hot all the time, what does it mean to be hot all the time? What does it mean to be hot all the time? It means that with every bit of energy in my being, I love God. It's not coming to all the meetings. Supposing a non-Christian husband tells his wife, you cannot go to all the meetings. Okay, she cannot go. But she can still love God with all her heart, soul and strength. There's no law which says you must go for so many meetings in a month. Other people may assess your spirituality by seeing how many meetings does he come to. Don't worry about them. There's only one law. Love God with all your heart. There's no place in your heart for anybody else but Jesus. And love your neighbor as yourself. Then, you don't have to worry about anybody's opinion. How should I spend my money? Can I buy ice cream? Do spiritual people eat ice cream? What do you think? If you love God with all your heart, and if you love others, you share your ice cream with them also. Then you can eat it. Everything is solved if you live by these two rules. Because I see so many churches, they make so many rules. Can you watch television? If you follow these two rules, you can watch. What you watch depends on whether you can follow these two rules. There are some television programs you cannot watch if you follow these rules. You'll have to turn off the television if you want to follow these two rules. But that's not for me to tell you. That's not for me to tell you that. It's the Holy Spirit will tell you. And how to find out. You must ask yourself, can I do this in fellowship with Jesus Christ? When I'm sitting watching a television program, I must ask myself, can Jesus sit with me and watch this? Very simple question. Jesus loved his father completely. Totally. And he loved everybody like himself. So if I have him sitting next to me, if he's sitting next to me, can he watch this television program? If I say yes, Jesus will sit with me and watch this program. I will watch it. Maybe some cricket or something. He's quite happy to sit with me and watch it. But if it's a dirty movie, he'll ask, will Jesus watch it? With all these half-naked women dancing there. Will Jesus watch it? He won't stop you from watching it. He'll just quietly get up and go away. Why? Because he does not force anybody, saying don't watch it. He'll just quietly walk away and then you'll know he doesn't like it. Then I need to turn it off. So that is always the test. Because in so many meetings people ask, Brother Zach, can I do this, can I do that, can I do this or not? Always ask yourself, can you do this in fellowship with Jesus Christ? Because there are so many things that people say, where does the Bible say you can't do that? For example, people say, where does it say in the Bible you cannot smoke cigarette? Which verse is that? I say no, there's no verse. I was once in Mizoram. That's one of the states in northeast India. And I was very surprised when I went there many years ago. Some very good born again believers, they would all smoke cigarettes. I've never seen that anywhere else in India. All born again Christians stopped smoking cigarettes. But here, many people were smoking cigarettes. I didn't blame them. Supposing you go to a slum and you find the children do not know English. Will you blame them? The parents never sent them to an English school. So when I went there, I did not blame them for smoking cigarettes. The preachers who came here never taught them that. They had bad teachers. The students are good but the teachers were bad. So why blame the students? So I knew these were sincere people so how to help them? So I told them, you know there's a very good habit that people who smoke have. Whenever they take out a cigarette if a friend is standing there they offer it to him. I've seen that even in the bus stand. I don't even know that man. He'll offer me a cigarette. I say good habit. So I said next time you take out a cigarette is what I preached. And one man was translating for me into Mizo language. I said next time you take out a cigarette you say Jesus please take one also. This is a good filter cigarette this one. And if you can say Jesus will smoke it then you smoke it. I never told people don't smoke. I said just offer one to Jesus and then smoke with him. Don't smoke alone. So next evening meeting my translator said Brother Zach I've stopped smoking. I said why? I never told anybody to stop smoking. He said I tried offering Jesus a cigarette he said no. Then I said I also don't want. So I told them that day everything in life this is the way. Don't ask is it right or wrong. Because so many Christians will have different views. Can you do this with Jesus or not? See Bangalore is a more stylish city than Chennai. It's not a good thing it's a bad thing. A lot of the American styles come to Bangalore. So the girls there are dressed in very stylish clothes. Stylish means tight clothes. Sleeves will go up and up and up and up. It's all showing more of the body and tight. Now how to teach people how to wear clothes? Because if I make rules for girls clothes I have to make so many rules. What should be the length of your skirt and so many things. I said I'm not a tailor I can't go around telling all this. So I said I made one simple rule when one sister asked me what shall I wear in Bangalore. I said supposing Jesus was living in the next street He calls you one day and says come we must go to the market together. Let's go for a walk there. What dress will you wear to go for a walk with Jesus Christ? Will you wear all these tight clothes with all the sleeves up to here and all that? And when Jesus looks at you will you say oh I'm very happy with this dress. You dress like that whichever you feel Jesus will be very happy looking at you. Jesus will be proud to say this is my sister. Dress like that. What did I tell those girls? Did I tell them length of the anything and everything? That is the rule. Can you do this with Jesus Christ or not? Will you dress like this if you are walking with Jesus down the road? And I said don't dress like that only when you come to church. Dress like that when you go to work also. Don't you want Jesus to go with you to work? You need him more in the workplace to be with you. So the Christian life is really very simple if you follow these simple rules. I want to do everything in fellowship with Jesus Christ. Even when I preach I say Lord Jesus I want you to be with me because sometimes I don't know what the people need. You know the need of all the people and you know the exact word that each person needs. I don't know. When you give me the words in my mind I will speak it. I promise you I will never try to please any rich people. I will not try to please the poor people. I will not hide any doctrine which is good for the people. I am not interested in anybody's money. I will not negate anybody's money. I want to get these people to be ready to meet with you when you come back. And I want you to be with me. And when I preach I want to realize you are here and I want you to be happy with what I am saying I am not primarily preaching to impress the people Lord but you, you must be happy with what I am saying. And you know even when we sing songs I say Lord I want to sing them to you. Sometimes I like to sing with my eyes closed because I want to think of Jesus just like when we pray Why do we close our eyes when we pray? Because I don't want any distraction. There is no law in the Bible which says you must close your eyes when you pray. We close our eyes so that I don't get distracted by people. I want to think of Jesus only. So when I know the words of a hymn I try to close my eyes and sing to Jesus directly. I mean if I don't know the words then I have to look at the screen to learn the words. But I say Lord I want to be aware of you when I sing. I am not singing because I like this song. This is a holy place. Jesus is here and I can't see him but he is here. I know he is here right now. When I sing I sing to him. When I preach I preach in his presence. This is the way you must live the Christian life. When you go to work he is there with you in the office. When you drive on your scooter he is there with us. His angels protect us. I really believe that for I rode a scooter for 45 years in Bangalore and I never had an accident. It's not because I am such a good driver. I never hurt anybody never hit anybody because the angels are there to protect me. Remember that God's angels are there to protect you from serious accidents. I have fallen down sometimes God protected me from serious things. So we must seek to live in the presence of Jesus all the time. You know that is how Jesus lived on earth. See Acts of the Apostles in chapter 2 Peter was speaking about the life of Jesus and he is telling the people how Jesus lived on earth. Acts chapter 2 it says in verse 24 how God raised him up again and then he tells us what David said about how Jesus lived on the earth. How did Jesus live on the earth? This is a quotation from Psalm 16 Acts 2 verse 25 I saw the Lord always in my presence that means Jesus lived like this I see the Father always in front of me anywhere I go the Father is there some temptation comes the Father is there the devil said turn these stones into bread and eat it but the Father was there so Jesus says Father should I turn the stones into bread I have got the power can I use it? Father is quiet no sound I am not going to do it man shall live by every word that proceeds from God not by his own need there is nothing wrong in turning stones into bread if you have the power you are not stealing anybody's bread you are hungry what is wrong if you got the power to turn stones into bread to me it is the same as going and buying bread if I have the money it is exactly the same I have money Jesus had power to turn the stones into bread but Jesus said no Father has not told me I have to fast for some more time so I will not eat now he always had the father in front of him that's how he didn't fall into sin the devil said jump from here the angels will protect you but the father was there and the father said no no no angels are not going to protect you if you jump down so always the father protected him I find that can help me I want to always keep Jesus in front of me always all you children please learn to keep Jesus in front of you in school in college so many people try to make fun of you or trouble you in so many ways don't get discouraged say Jesus you are here with me and when you keep the Lord in front of you verse 25 says he is also at my right hand so I will not be shaken when you keep the Lord in front of you he will always be also there to help you in your work for example when you are examination and others are cheating in a school exam somebody is copying from somebody else's book and the Lord is in front of you not the teacher the teacher is far away can't see what you are doing but the Lord is here I cannot do it they can do it the Lord is not in front of them the Lord is in front of me so you say I will not cheat if I fail I fail but I will not cheat because the Lord is watching me all the time and then he will be at your right hand to help you even in your examination believe that you children believe that that Jesus will stand by your side to help you even in your right your examination and not only that then verse 26 my heart will be glad this is the way to always be happy always to keep Jesus in front of me and he will be at my right hand to help me even in difficult situations see there was a time when they caught Jesus and brought him before the governor pilot and sometimes that can also happen for Christians that they are somebody tries to persecute them so when he stood before pilot John chapter 19 Jesus stood before pilot pilot is a ruler sitting on a throne and Jesus got a crown of thorns on his head and they beat him bleeding from all over his body his clothes all torn he is standing there like a beggar clothes all torn blood flowing down his face and pilot like a king sitting on a throne and he tells Jesus verse 10 John 19 10 middle of that verse don't you know pilot says I've got authority to set you free or to crucify you now most people will be scared when a judge speaks like that but see how Jesus spoke he spoke like a king his clothes may be torn his blood may be flowing down from his face but boldly he told pilot you have no authority over me unless my father gives it to you from above what a who was the king there not pilot pilot was a slave of the people he had to do what the people say Jesus was the king that is how a Christian must be when we are taken before authorities to have this attitude even if you don't say it I have found myself in different situations like this when I was in the navy and even when people accused me falsely for my Christian stand took me before different authorities my attitude was this you have no authority over me except what my father in heaven will give you you cannot do you cannot touch a hair on my head without my father's permission Jesus said that the hair on your head is counted so it is a wonderful thing to be a Christian I have set the lord in front of me the lord is by my side I can go throughout everywhere in this world saying nobody can touch me without God's permission that boldness is part of the fire that burns in my heart even when the holy spirit fills you with fire see what happened to the apostles Acts chapter 4 they it says in Acts chapter 4 the people were so angry with the apostles that they locked them up in the jail and they told them this is Acts chapter 4 they called the apostles in verse 18 and said you must not preach in the name of Jesus anymore you must not preach in the name of Jesus Acts 4.18 what did Peter say? they didn't fold their hands ok ok we will not preach no they didn't say that he said we cannot stop speaking verse 20 about what we have seen and heard you decide in verse 19 whether we should listen to God or listen to you what boldness and then they went away and the apostles met with all their other fellow believers and they prayed what did they pray for? verse 29 Lord not protect us from persecution they never prayed for that Lord give us boldness to speak your word and how did God answer that? verse 31 he sent the fire of the Holy Spirit on them they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they became bold so the fire brings boldness how do you know you are hot? here you are bold to tell people what you stand for as a Christian you know sometimes in the offices our senior officers may tell us to do something wrong that happened to me number of times in the Navy when I was working there and to say no to a senior officer in the Navy is more serious than in any other place because military rules are different see in all other offices if you say no they will just dismiss you from your job or you won't get a promotion or if it's a secular office they will say ok tomorrow don't come finished your job is over but in the Navy it is different if you say it to a senior officer no sir I can't do that they will take you before a court military court and they will lock you up in jail that's what happens in the military but if you say no I can't do that that happened to me two or three times I didn't go to jail but I had to tell the senior officer sir I'm a Christian that is against my conscience to sign that false statement I'm sorry sir I cannot do it they threatened me I keep quiet I don't argue back and they realized they cannot make me do against my conscience so once they transferred me in half an hour I got a transfer from there I said ok praise the lord transfer also is under god's control because the lord is in front of me he is by my side and then they won't give me a good report for my promotion I said I'm not bothered about your promotion I didn't tell them that but I know in my heart I'm not interested in that I want Jesus to promote me spiritually this earthly job is only a means to earn my living before I became a Christian I wanted to go up and up and up in the navy to the top but after I became a Christian I wanted to go up and up spiritually to the lord and this earthly job became only a means of earning living that's why my life was very happy and that's how even when I was very young I came to know Jesus in a very real way and the fire of God burnt in my heart and that helped me to say no when something was wrong I hope in the church in Chennai there will be many brothers and sisters like that you may not make a lot of money on this earth you may not go to some very high position in your job but when Jesus comes back you will be so thankful that you honored God see Moses he could have become pharaoh in Egypt he said no I want to please God I hope there will be many people like that here if you are working in a school or a hospital or anywhere to say I will not do anything wrong I will not go against my conscience I will be a witness for Jesus Christ Jesus said let your light shine before men that they see so this is what it means to be a true Christian to love God with all our heart and to love others as ourselves so the question comes this is a question many people ask me how can I love Jesus more how did you learn to love Jesus so much that you are willing to stand before senior officers and say I am sorry sir I can't do that I am a Christian I never spoke it arrogantly always respectfully and humbly not arrogantly we must never be arrogant always in humility I will tell you what helped me to love Jesus two things very easy to remember all to have the fire of loving Jesus all the time in my heart that will help you also first of all 1 John chapter 4 1 John chapter 4 we read verse 19 we love him because he first loved us why do we love him because he loved us first so the more you understand how much he loved you the more you love him the more you understand how much he loved you how to love Jesus more from this verse try and understand how much he loved you if you understand that less you will love Jesus less the reason why many people love Jesus very little is because they understand very little how much Jesus loved them so my first prayer was Lord Jesus help me to see how much you love me so I would have many pictures in my mind one was this that if I was the only sinner in the whole world all the others were good people who never sinned only me the only sinner in the world Jesus would have come from heaven only for me and would have died only for me all the good people are there everybody else so who will kill him I will kill him for my sins how much he loved me that is one picture then I had another picture and that was I would picture myself like crossing a road and one big truck was coming I didn't see it and somebody came just in time and pushed me out of the way and he gets run over by that truck and his legs are crushed completely and he is taken to the hospital and his legs are cut off completely why to save my life so I go to see him in the hospital this is the picture the lord gave me so when I see him in the hospital what will I tell him will I just say thank you very much see you later no I will say a lot more than that I will spend a lot of time talking to him if he has got a family and children and all that now he cannot work his legs are cut off what will I tell him I will tell him I will work and support your family because you suffered this to save my life and I will tell him anytime you are in need give me a call whatever I am doing I will drop it and come and help you most important work I will drop and come and help you because you risked your life to save me so that is the second picture I got like a picture of how Jesus loved me so I said lord if I say that to a man I will say that to you anytime you can call me for anything I will drop everything and do whatever you tell me to do that is what I would say to this man and then another picture of the lord gave me you know the bible says we are the bride of Jesus Christ he is our bride groom and we are the bride so in the old testament I read a story about Jacob Jacob fell in love with a girl called Rachel and he wanted to marry her but her father said if you want to marry her you have to work for me seven years then you can marry my daughter so Jacob worked for seven years but Rachel had got an elder sister called Leah so the father said we can't I cannot give Rachel in marriage before Leah now Rachel was very good looking Leah was not so good looking so Jacob wanted the younger sister Rachel you read that in Genesis 29 and verse 17 and 18 Leah's eyes were weak Rachel was beautiful and Jacob loved Rachel and said I'll work for seven years give me your younger daughter Rachel so you know what Laban did the father of Rachel you know those days people would marry one or two wives so it was ok so it's very interesting how he tricked him so you see this he said ok let's have the wedding Laban said let's have the wedding and so Laban said before the wedding verse 22 let's have a feast now normally the feast is after the wedding right have you ever been to a wedding where the feast is first and then the wedding is afterwards this man was a clever man Laban Laban was a clever man he said let's have the feast first plenty of alcohol and drinks and he made Jacob drunk and he can't even walk properly and he comes to the wedding now and Laban brings you know those days they put a veil on the bride's face so you don't know who's underneath the veil Jacob is drunk and Laban says give me your hand here's Rachel he's like that and he says ok and it is Leah he gets married and he wakes up next morning who is this this is not Rachel then he gets really angry that's what Laban did the feast before the wedding so then Laban said no you got to we don't give the younger daughter first if you want her also so you got to work another 7 years so you know he was so much in love he said ok I'll work another 7 years this is the verse that came to me verse 20 20 Jacob served 7 years for Rachel and they looked to him like a few days because of the love he had for her 7 years can you imagine working 7 years and it's just like 7 days so quickly it went why because he loved Rachel so much another 7 years it's ok that's another 7 days that's all easy so when I read that I said Lord a man works like this for a woman for 7 years 14 years he works and it's just like a few days for him what about me working for you Lord Jesus I want to work better than Jacob work for Rachel I want to love you such that even if I serve you for 14 years it'll be just like a few days I left my job 51 years ago you know how long I've been serving the Lord just a few days because I love Jesus I can honestly say that I've beaten Jacob I've beaten his record it's really like a few days the most wonderful thing you can ever do is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ but it's because I understood how much Jesus loved me and now I'll tell you one of the greatest revelations that Jesus gave me of his love for me you know in Matthew 26 we read like this in verse 42 verse 39 first Father let this cup pass from me but not as I will but as you will my father let this cup pass from me but not as I will but as you will but not as you will the 40th verse says he prayed for one hour again the second time father let this cup pass from me maybe he prayed for another one hour verse 44 the third time he went and said the same thing verse 44 said I don't want to drink this cup. But if it's your will, I will drink it. So I said Lord please explain to me what is this cup that you did not want to drink? Do you know what it is? I did not know what it is. What is this cup which Jesus just did not want to drink? He told his father take it away, take it away, take it away. But finally the father didn't take it away. So I said Lord please explain to me what is this cup? What is this thing you did not want to drink? And the Lord showed me. It was the break of fellowship with his father that would happen on the cross of Calvary. It's very difficult for us to understand this. And even though I explain it, you may not understand it. You have to get revelation from heaven. For me it came as a revelation from heaven. If you are sincere God will give you a revelation too. If you are not sincere you will just understand the words. Pray for revelation. I said Lord what does this mean? And the Lord showed me that from all eternity he had perfect fellowship with the father. For eternal ages, you can't even think for eternal ages the father and the son were one. It was never broken. What is it that breaks fellowship with God? Only one thing, sin. Not suffering, not poverty, not any difficulty. Nothing can separate a person's fellowship from God except sin. One sin. If I speak one rude word to my wife, one rude word, for one second, fellowship is broken with the father. Now why don't people realize this? I'll tell you. Because we don't value fellowship with the father very much. We value fellowship with believers more than we value fellowship with God. We value money more than we value God. Supposing one day you wake up and you discover all your money is lost. Like Job, all the children are dead and all the money is lost. That is no suffering compared to break a fellowship with the father. It's more intense than what Job went through. And that's what Jesus enjoyed and he never wanted it to break. As he came to the garden of Gethsemane and he knew that in another nine hours he'll be crucified, he knew this will happen now. Not because of his sin, my sin. When my sin is put upon him, what will happen? The father will look at Jesus as if he had sinned. It's not his sin. It's Zach Poonen's sin. But it will look as if Jesus has sinned. And the father will cut off fellowship from Jesus. He could not bear that. The Bible says that God the father is the head of Christ. John 1 Corinthians 11. So it's like taking the head and wrenching it off. Jesus said I don't want that. And I can imagine an angel coming and telling him. But Lord it will only be for three hours. Only three hours that punishment. Then the father will forsake you. You remember when he was hanging on the cross he said my God, my God why have you forsaken me? I know God never gave an answer. I can give an answer. God why have you forsaken me Jesus says. I'll say Lord Jesus because of Zach Poonen's sin. That's why he forsook you. That's why he forsook you. You don't know the answer. I'll give it to you. So that is what he did not want. That was a cup. He said don't let me drink it. And I used to imagine supposing the father and Jesus are speaking in Gethsemane. And Jesus says I don't want to drink this cup. I don't even want to break for one second this fellowship with you. And the father says okay Jesus you don't have to do that. You have never sinned. From Gethsemane you can come straight up to heaven. You don't have to go to Calvary. But Zach Poonen will go to hell. Jesus says Zach Poonen will go to hell. Okay father. I'll drink the cup. That's why he drank the cup. Because he did not want me to go to hell. Many years ago. More than 20-30 years ago. God opened my eyes to see this truth. And I wept and I wept and I wept. I said Lord I understand your love for me in Gethsemane more than in Calvary. Till then I only saw all the nails went through his hands and he suffered so much and all that. I used to see that in some movies of Jesus being killed. I used to weep when I saw it. But weep for what? Because they hit him and the crown of thorns and the blood flowing all that. But now I saw the real spiritual thing that happened on Calvary. That the father forsook him. For three hours he experienced hell. What I was going to experience in hell for millions and millions of years. It was concentrated and put into Jesus in three hours. I will never understand in this earthly life how much he suffered. No matter how much I understand I will not be able to understand it. But one thing I know. When I see my savior face to face one day. That is the first thing I will understand. That is the first thing I will understand. What he went through on the cross to save me from an eternal hell. And I will fall down at his feet and say Lord I never knew that you loved me so much. How much you loved me. And how many sins I committed that hurt your heart. How much you still love me. And in that day I will say I wish I had given you more of my life on earth. I wish I had never sinned once in my life. I wish I had given more of my life to you. I will really feel like that when I see him. But that will be the time when time is over and eternity has begun. And I won't get the chance to do anything for him because I am in heaven now. And I think I will feel Lord can I go back to earth once more and live for you. Lord says no you get only one chance to live for me. So this comes to my mind even now. Lord in that day when I see you. I don't want to have any regret in my heart that I did not live for you 100%. I don't want to live for you 90% I want to live for you 100%. I love him because he first loved me. When you see that love you will also love him. If you don't love him enough I will tell you the reason. It's because you don't see how much he loved you. And there is one more reason why I love him. And that is in Luke chapter 7. You know there was a Pharisee who invited Jesus to his house. And in that house while Jesus was at the table. It was 37 a woman who was a prostitute heard of that and came to the house. I think she was a prostitute living in sin. And she took an expensive vial of perfume. Do you know how much perfume costs? Some small bottle costs thousands of rupees sometimes. Very expensive. She brought a bottle of perfume. Where did she get the money from? It was her whole life savings as a prostitute. She took that. Gave it all and bought this perfume. Because she had given up that profession now. Jesus had forgiven her her life had changed. She was not a prostitute now. She was like that and Jesus had forgiven her. And she was thinking how to show my gratitude to Jesus. She spent all her money and bought this perfume. You know I am amazed when people say you have to give 10% to God. If you had gone and told this woman you have to give your tithe to God. This is what rubbish you are talking she would say. This prostitute would say. He has forgiven all my sins. What do I give 10%? No, I will give everything. Learn from this prostitute. She spent all her money to buy this perfume. And she poured it at Jesus feet and kissed it and anointed it. And this Pharisee was sitting there and said. What type of prophet is this? He doesn't know this woman sinner is touching him. And Jesus said. When you are forgiven much, you love much. When you are forgiven little, you love little. What is the question we are thinking of? How to love Jesus more? I will tell you. You have to understand that you have been forgiven much. When you understand that you have been forgiven much, you love much. We have all been forgiven much. I raise my hand and say I have been forgiven a great deal. Paul's hand is higher than mine. He says he is the chief of sinners. I may be second. Paul is the biggest sinner. I am little behind him. The more you realize how much you have been forgiven. The more you will love him. So the reason why some of you don't love Jesus very much. You love your job, you love your money, you love so many other people more than Jesus. You think you have not been forgiven much, that's the reason. It's a law. Verse 47 Those who are forgiven much, love much. Those who are forgiven little, love little. If you love Jesus only very little, that means you think you have been forgiven little. I have been forgiven very much. So I have decided to love Jesus with all my heart. Nothing will be more important to me in this world than Jesus Christ. I love Jesus more than I love my wife. I wanted to marry a girl who would love Jesus more than she loves me. I didn't want to marry a girl who loved me more than she loved Jesus. That would be a very unhappy marriage. If our marriage is happy, it's because we both love Jesus more than we love each other. So what is the secret of loving Jesus more? Because then only we can love Jesus with all our heart. Like the first law, love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind. One, understand how much he loved us when he was forsaken by the Father on the cross. Secondly, understand how much we have been forgiven. Those are the two things God opened my eyes to. That's why I love Jesus. That's why to me the most important thing is not preaching. It's not conferences. It's not building churches. No, the most important thing for me is to love Jesus Christ. Sometimes I lie in my bed. And I say, Lord if you paralyze me, I can't get up anymore. And I take away my voice, I can't speak again. I will still lie here and love you with all my heart. Because that will never change. I hope all of you will learn to love Jesus more. That is the only way to keep the fire burning in our hearts. The day when you lose that, you can come to all the meetings. You can give money to God. You can be so active in God's work. You can get a reputation in Chennai as a good, zealous brother or sister. You will not be on fire. You will be a cold, half-hearted Christian. So I pray you learn to love Jesus with all your heart.
