The Fifth Seal: Prayer Releasing Judgment
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

Sermon Summary
Mike Bickle emphasizes the significance of the fifth seal in Revelation, which highlights the power of prayer in releasing God's judgment on the earth. He explains that prayer can both stop and release judgment, with the martyrdom of saints igniting a fervent prayer movement that brings about God's purposes. Bickle discusses how the shedding of blood creates intensity in the church, leading to a more profound commitment to God and a powerful prayer movement that influences history. He encourages believers to recognize the importance of their prayers, which, though feeble, are mighty in God's presence and can change the course of events. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a renewed commitment to prayer as a vital part of God's plan in the end times.

Touch our hearts to release the spirit of revelation and Lord we thank you that you do rescue your people You are the God that surely rescues We ask you for the spirit of revelation and the spirit of might in Jesus name. Amen Well those that are taking the Bible school class or on the fifth session Session number five in studies in the seals the trumpets and the bowls of judgment or the bowls of wrath in the book of Revelation And here we are on our fifth seal. We've looked at the first four seals this verse by verse line by line the fifth one is a very Well, every one of them are very important but this is unique because it's the turning point in the book of Revelation here the fifth seal and Those that are taking the class or we're gonna take you through the notes just line by line And I have at the title of it the fifth seal the prayer movement. It's really the prayer move that's releasing God's judgment on the earth It's an interesting thing because God's because God's judgment is stopped and It's released through prayer one prayer meeting stops the judgment of God another prayer meeting releases the judgment of God and the book of Revelation has both types of of Prayer and it's from and it's in the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation But most people think of prayer mostly as stopping judgment But the emphasis in the book of Revelation is the prayer that releases it so that the purpose of God goes forward in greater power Let's read Revelation chapter 6 verse 9 to 11 it's the fifth seal and when he Jesus opened the fifth seal and again we emphasize is with each one of the seven seals Jesus is the one doing it. It's not the devil It's the work of Jesus from heaven Jesus opened the fifth seal So he's the one that's orchestrating this fiery prayer movement He's the one that's allowing the circumstances the negative circumstances of martyrdom He allows it to go forth With the understanding that it ignites the prayer movement that brings his purposes to full blossom In Daniel chapter 7 Verse 21 and 25. It's such it's one of the first times in the scripture It says it so clearly is that the Lord is the one that allows The enemy to triumph over the Saints to prevail over the Saints for a short season I should use the word prevails that a triumph to wear down the Saints prefer to prevail over them in other words talking about martyrdom and in Daniel chapter 7 verse 21 and verse 25 and it's such a Disturbing concept is you just read it only the book of Daniel, but now we're finding in Revelation 6 verse 9 11 the other side the other side of this Lord of Jesus allowing martyrdom to increase it ignites a global prayer movement that Brings the harvest into the full number It brings the church into full purity and it brings God's judgment upon Unrighteousness the prayer movement does and the prayer movement will not reach its full Impact its full intensity without the blood of the Saints being shed Now that's just an idea that we don't We wouldn't naturally think of that. We wouldn't naturally vote for that But there's something about the shedding of blood that sets the church on fire. It makes It makes people Have a fierce determination to be totally for real and red-hot or just to back away and to have nothing to do with the kingdom of God the shedding of blood creates intensity in both directions the intensity of being radically committed and the intensity of Backsliding and saying I want nothing to do with this anymore The shedding of blood is a draws a line in the sand and it creates intensity in both dimensions There is no gray zone when blood is shed and then it's the shedding of blood That creates the environment and the shedding of blood also has an impact of the spirit Has an impact in the spirit realm there's guilt that is multiplied upon those that shed the blood the murderers guilt Rises up to heaven blood cries out from the ground and it provokes the heart of God There's a numerous scriptures about blood crying out from the ground and God's heart being touched And in a minute, we'll look at it in Revelation 19 verse 2 When all the saints were in heaven, that's one of the points that they emphasize Jesus when they shed our blood you were you were just filled with zeal when our blood was shed And so Revelation 19 verse 2 gives us insight that the righteous fiery bridegroom was stirred To a new level to a new dimension when blood was shed so because the guilt rises up from the ground and causes the murderers to be In a more perilous position before the throne of God, but it also allows God's zeal for his people to be manifest in a greater way There's something about blood that that makes the guilt rise It makes God's zeal for his people come into manifestation in the natural realm The zeal is always there but it's manifest and it's something that creates intensity to either go forward to God a hundred percent or to get out of out of the Whole pretense of walking with God it creates intensity in the direction and in this in the realm of believers They go forward or they say, you know what? I don't want to do this anymore, but there's no gray zone so martyrdom has a tremendous a tremendous impact and again, we wouldn't naturally think of martyrdom as as as as having a key role, but it has a domino effect to it and this martyrdom is is What's being released? It's no it's it's the circumstance on the earth that is Allowed to happen to produce the prayer movement or to contribute to the prayer movement in a significant way is a better way to say it And the prayer movement releases the judgment. It's the prayer movement. That is the actual Judgment event is the prayer movement itself releasing multitudes of events Like the seven trumpets in the seven bowls of wrath. They are the fruit of the prayer movement The seven trumpets of Revelation 8 9 and the seven Bowls of wrath and Revelation 16 are the fruit of this prayer movement here in the fifth seal And it's intense Well, I guess I'm still working on reading the verse through aren't I? Okay, let's start over again verse 6 when he Jesus opened the fifth seal and that's where I got off on the idea of the I mean on the point of Daniel chapter 7 Verse 21 and 25. Jesus is allowing this situation to happen because he understands its impact And that's that's just an intense concept. It's intense, but it's biblical John speaking. He says I saw under the altar Now the altars in heaven the altars Near the throne of God the altars in close proximity the throne of God. He sees under the golden altar. It's the prayer altar It's not the brazen altar, it's the golden altar of incense. It's the altar of incense is the prayer altar He sees the prayer altar and the prayer altar is a governmental place the prayer altar in heaven The golden altar is where the prayers are received and history is changed The altar of incense is next to the throne of God. It's right next to the Holy of Holies the throne of God the prayer altar Touches the throne of God, I mean impacts. It's what I mean by it touches it Now under the altar. I mean the altar is terrifying place. I mean the altar. I mean a terrifying meaning. It's majestic It's powerful. It's it's whoa. The altar of God is one of the great sacred places In the universe and not just sacred. It's a place of great power It changes in direct human history the golden altar does the golden altar? So he sees the he sees the golden altar, but he sees these souls Who have been slain for the Word of God he sees martyrs it's not just people that died their natural deaths not people who died even unnatural deaths of sickness or an accident or a or a Some kind of unforeseen event. These are actually martyrs specifically And they were martyrs because they took a stand for the Word of God And they verse 10 the end-time martyrs. They cried out with a loud voice They cried out They're crying out in heaven. The Saints are crying out with a loud voice with great zeal with great determination I mean, they're not just kind of kind of going through the motions. There's a determination There's a zeal and they're crying out with a loud voice and they're saying to the Lord probably the most quoted Prayer in the Old Testament, how long Oh Lord holy and true how long that's the great prayer That's come forth in the nation of Israel. How long Oh God Before you'll break in and make wrong things, right? How long until you judge? How long till you make wrong things, right? That's what judge means How long till you remove the things that are stopping your purpose? But then there's more than how long till you judge the next thing is it's it's different it overlaps But how long until you avenge until you actually pay? With vengeance pay back those that killed us who refuse your grace now the good news is that there are people like Saul of Tarsus who murdered the Saints But They received the grace of God and God made him a mighty Apostle. So these this vengeance this Vengeance is upon those who murder the Saints but refuse the grace of God After they've murdered the Saints and so there's a judgment making wrong things, right? You can put the word revival in there moving all the wrong influences and then vengeance There's a real personal note of vengeance That relay that it's related directly to the people who did the murdering How long Oh Lord Holy and true until you judge Do you intervene you break in and make wrong things, right? And number two till you pay back in a personal way the people that murdered us Till you avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth. And I think it's important to know this it seems like kind of a Prayer of you know, they're up in heaven and they're angry. No, they're they're not an angry. They're not angry in heaven They they don't have carnal aspirations There's not a sense of payback they want guilty murderers who refuse to repent to be stopped Because they defile the purpose of God they hinder the purpose of God So so they're not wanting a payback because you know, I'm still mad at that guy down there that yeah that one guy specifically him It's not a payback cry. It's an acknowledgment That the guy that murdered me that won't repent he is defiling and hindering the purpose of God So Lord, I I ask you for your own glory to stop him This is only a prayer that they pray in heaven for vengeance in this way in the full sense of the word it's a prayer that those saints without a dimension of sin and an unrenewed mind have the Freedom to pray to pray with no hindrance whatsoever I mean, there's a there is a way that I mean David prayed that prayer on the earth as well, but uh It's it's a prayer for the glory of God It's not a prayer because I'm mad at the guy that took my money and I want him to know that he can't mess with Me it's not like that. It's a prayer for it's a lot a bigger picture Than that verse 11 then a white robe Was given to each one of them And the white robe is is there's many more points to each one of these but I'm just kind of getting us around the subject the white robe was the statement of the innocence and purity an innocence and purity of Those that were martyred because the reason that matters because those that were martyred were were tried in the courts on the earth and found guilty They were charged with treason against the state they were charged with with a Disrupting the peace of the earth of the Antichrist government. They were charged with being dangerous fanatical in a negative sense of being harmful to goodness and to other people to the goodwill of others and they were false charges and Millions and millions will be led to their death. I mean hundreds of millions will be martyred before the Lord returns and I think it's important to say that More hundreds of millions won't be martyred But hundreds of millions will be martyred, but I believe there'll be more Saints not martyred than are but there'll be enough The number will be so high Though I still believe the there'll be a greater percentage of believers not martyred But the percentage will still be high enough to where it will affect everybody and everybody will know it's a real Possibility martyrdom is so there will be no gray area in the body of Christ at all It's just it's gonna be a glorious thing. The prayer movement will get hot all division and church splits will just go Nobody will care no more Who did it? I Just create an entire new environment people won't be compromising over the side over in the shadows Because their lives will be on the line for for holding their testimony So white robe will be giving given to these I mean hundreds of millions who were tried and judged in the court of man as guilty as Defiling other human beings but the truth of the matter is that these Saints were innocent and the Lord gives them a white robe Proclaims their purity and their victory in the presence of everyone. I mean, it's a powerful thing. There's a great statement of assurance Everything will be reversed when they're given right row white robes it's all the things that were done wrong against them are now turned around in public view and They have the fruit of that for billions and billions of years because the Saints that are killed will be again charged with Terrible crimes Against the state and against humanity and they'll be false charges Verse 11 then a white robe was given to each one of them. There isn't one of them with that will be overlooked Each one of them will have this place of honor in this public vindication Each one I love the word each not one of them is overlooked Each one of these martyrs are so dear to God that they took a stand in love for his name And it was said to them It was said to them. They should rest a little while longer not stop praying but rest be at peace and Have assurance that everything's gonna be turned around and it's in its right time It was told them they should rest a little while longer until the number of their fellow servants and brethren who would be killed Even as they were were completed There is a number No, of course, no one knows the number only God the Father knows the number There's a number That only God knows It's only known within the Fellowship of the Trinity. There's only a number there is a number that must be completed It's not that the numbers like the Lord saying I just really want to see if you're sincere I want to see if you can get to this number and that's not like that There's a number that God knows and that number I believe it's hundreds of millions and and whatever that number is it's not one Saint too many and it will cause the domino effect of Purifying the church setting the prayer movement on fire establishing the guilt to the rebellious and Jesus is zeal for his bride will be brought into full manifestation And there's a number and the Lord knows how it all makes its impact in the spirit But it's not the point of this So we know that it's not arbitrary. It's not by chance. It's not haphazard It's thought through thoroughly two thousand years ago. This is recorded. It's not taking God by surprise It's all a part of the plan That's the point of which that that idea that there is a number is supposed to produce in us the assurance that this thing is a part of a plan a Good plan a plan that's gonna result in glory for the Saints Okay, hey the fifth seal is the release of the Holy Spirit prayer movement the fifth seal is the release of a Holy Spirit prayer movement that partners with Jesus and Releasing God's judgment on the righteous on the unrighteous It sets into motion the trumpets and the bowls the seven trumpets in the seven bowls. It sets it into motion It's the prayer movement that creates a shift in the spirit that changes natural history It's a prayer movement that is related to the altar Which is the activity of the divine court in heaven in Revelation, I mean a Daniel chapter 7 Daniel chapter 7 verse 9 to 11 the court in heaven is in session and Judgment is decreed for the Antichrist and his kingdom and the court in heaven that decrees the judgment is linked to this verse the Daniel 7 Verse 9 to 11 court session in heaven all those that are gathered in the divine court in the ancient of days God the Father sits as judge at the court and it's this is the other side it's the prayer side of that court session from Daniel chapter 7 verse 9 to 11 and It is decreed the Antichrist and his worldwide evil Empire will be destroyed That's the fruit of that court session and we're tapping into this court session right here So you want to link? verse 9 to 11 with Daniel chapter 7 Verse 9 and 10 particularly, but go ahead and add verse 11 and 12 For those some of you've been studying the book of Daniel and you'll understand how it connects But others just jot that down and look at it because these are parallel passages Because the Revelation verse 4 and 5 court scene is that Daniel 7 verse 9 court scene And again, what's happening here in the fifth seal? It's the turning point of the book of Revelation right here it's when the prayer movement in heaven and The prayer movement on the earth they come into a whole new place of power now This is focusing on the prayer movement in heaven but the prayer movement in heaven is Happening and there's a we'll look at several verses the prayer movement on the earth is Setting on fire is getting set on fire to alongside with the prayer movement in heaven how many of you know the the Saints are praying in heaven and the Saints are praying on the earth and The Holy Spirit is praying and Jesus is praying and the combination of the group down here the group up there Jesus and the Holy Spirit all before the throne of God all the Combination of that prayer power all in unity the angels are the you know are the agents and they're doing the tasks that the Father commands them to do in relationship to the prayer movement It's a very dynamic reality Okay be the judgment dimension of each of the seven seals The judgment dimension of each of these seals increases in intensity in other words the first seal the release of the anti-crisis political aggression is intensified by the second seal which is world war and That is intensified by the famine and the economic crisis of the third seal that is intensified by the fourth seal with pestilence and disease and one-fourth of the population of the earth dying and there's a there is a intentional a meant to be understood intensity that's building and here's the point the fifth seal is more intense than the fourth seal I Want that to sink in for a minute those of you that were with us in the last session the fourth seal one-fourth of the world's population dies you know in a couple decades from now They estimate the world's population will be about 10 billion next 20 25 years The Lord tarry's and I think it's very likely he will tarry that long but anyway the Lord's poppy I mean the earth's population will reach the 10 billion mark and That that'd be 2.5 billion people dying That's the fourth seal 50 times The death toll of World War two 50 times greater than the death toll of war two here's my point the fifth seal is more intense than the fourth seal and And I mean as I am touch that I just And the sixth seal is more intense than the fifth seal they build in intensity And it's and we're supposed to understand that But in that we understand the place of power of the prayer movement Some folks Well, I think this is great. It's a great beginning. The prayer movement is mostly to them Man life is hard out there. It's great music and it's just good to sigh and ah and I I Get that way myself sometimes. No, I love that part of the prayer movement. Just the personal refreshing And the prayer movement will always be personal refreshing even a billion years from now worship will be a place of refreshing But the prayer movements more than refreshing. It's more than a place just to sigh and study a little bit the prayer movement Releases a force of God's vengeance that's more severe than the fourth seal It is a place of power that will change history it's in this place again where the turning point because the first five seals are our evil men striking evil men the first five five seals it's God lifts his restraining hand and lets Sinful people strike sinful people or impact simple people or hurt simple people or influence of simple people but from this point on Starting with the sixth seal all of them from then on are supernatural events It's not it's not just an issue of God taking his hand off of evil men and letting them do what's in their heart That's the first five Or the first four because it's the this fifth one is actually a very supernatural thing is an anointed prayer movement and but if you want to count the martyrdom as part of you know, the human dimension of it you count it that way but after this The sixth seal is not men striking men. It's God Shaking creation in a supernatural way and the trumpets and the bowls are all supernatural. It's a whole nother level It's not men striking men. The turning point is right here. It's with the prayer movement One of my goals is to see the prayer movement Have revelation of the prayer movement. It's a goal for me I mean, I'm saying it to you, but I don't grasp it I say it to you But I only understand it just a little bit Every time I say it I get it a little bit more and every year that goes by and I'm engaged in prayer and I hop Understand a little bit more the fierceness of the fifth seal and it's not just how fierce it is how important it is how strategic it is our feeble prayers Our feeble prayers are mighty in the throne of God and they're changing history They're feeble going up. We look at each other. I wouldn't much they're mighty when they get around the throne of grace Mixed with fire Revelation 8 verse 3 to 5 says and mixed with grace. They're mighty in God's presence though. They're feeble on their way up We look at each other we think I was pretty feeble or it says I have chosen 1st Corinthians chapter 1 Verse 25 26 27. I've chosen the weak things of the earth to Overcome the mighty things and there's nothing more feeble than prayer and fasting but that is what God has chosen to overthrow kingdoms and We need a we need a revelation. The prayer movement needs a revelation of the prayer movement and how God sees it It is massive what we are doing and what? Thousands and thousands of groups worldwide are doing Just a little group of folks praying on Wednesday night over and way out of the way their prayers are moving things They might go up feeble But they arrive at the throne of grace far more mighty than we understand Okay be the second since the fifth seals more severe than the four that preceded In the middle of that paragraph I have currently unbelievers have no fear of the prayer movement If you looked at if you've got a bunch of unbelievers in a room and talked about the first seal It's probably saying I don't know don't seem too bad the first one second third and fourth. They go. Oh my goodness That's horrifying go the fifth one It's a well, it's a really a shame for the church all those good people getting killed, but doesn't seem very terrifying to them The fifth one is far more terrifying to them to to to to the world of unbelievers than they can imagine I don't think the church understands Its place The reason the unbelievers would have no fear of a growing permanent matter of fact, they would think it's just kind of you know Isolationism kind of disconnecting from real life. They don't know it's a place of Government, they don't know that the government of the universe is the prayer room Let's say that again God's governing center of which he rules the earth is the prayer room That is the governmental center. The governmental center of America is not Washington DC. I assure you it's not The governmental center of America are the prayer rooms and just the problem of the dates The prayer rooms have been so weak the government's been so weak in the spirit that the natural government does all kinds of things But when the government in the spirit is right, then the natural government has a whole has a course Set for it that it greatly impacts and Influences those in the natural government the government of the created order is the prayer room on in heaven and on earth It really really is and we again we don't grasp that it's easy to say it I don't fully grasp it by any means, but I know it's true and I'm growing in my understanding of that And these unbelievers, they don't know that the blood of the martyrs will fuel the prayer movement. It's this I Have this the martyrdom sets into motion a domino effect in the spirit. It's like stirring up a Holy Hornets nest It's they they just don't understand it has this Genesis chapter 50 verse 20 Joseph said I have it somewhere in the notes that verse for those of you that have the notes there Genesis 50 verse 20 Joseph said my brothers they meant it for evil, but God meant it for good Evil men are killing the Saints and it's setting off this domino effect set the prayer movement on fire and they don't really realize What they're doing? It's it's increasing the spread of righteousness Okay, Roman numeral two the end-time prayer movement the ultimate concert of prayer and basically what I say in in in a paragraph a and B is Basically what I'm saying in those paragraphs is that the Saints on the earth the Saints in heaven the Holy Spirit and Jesus are all working together and there's a great global concert of prayer at the end And there's three things three things that are fueling this prayer movement Three things that are fueling it number one Well, I mean there's many things but there's the blood of the Saints when the blood is shed the prayer movement gets hotter Number one number two There's a spirit of revelation dreams visions when the prophetic anointing flows the prayer room gets hotter Satan always wants to take out the prophets to shut down the prayer room when the prophetic anointing is out and Diminished the intercessory anointing goes down. I mean, it's absolute fact of life Blood the shedding of righteous blood of the Saints increases the prayer fire the release of revelation the Jesus I mean the scripture says the Lord's gonna pour out dreams of the Holy Spirit with dreams and visions that is going to Increase the prayer anointing all over the earth dreams and visions. We are contending for dreams and visions They set the thing on fire the prayer movement Another thing that sets the prayer movement on fire is Fearless obedience There is no place that can substitute for fearless faith and obedience. I mean Courageous holding the line and saying no to sin Holding the line when everything in our being screams back down and give in we hold the line That sets the prayer movement on fire righteousness does faith Just call it just radical faith and obedience believing God and doing what he says and Whether you know, whatever pulls us out of this holding the line. I'm not talking about kind of getting by Righteousness. I'm talking about radical lives of obedience set the prayer movement on fire they really do and The result of these three things is it creates perseverance? Perseverance and beloved there's no substitute for perseverance. We have to do it the church The the government of heaven will only answer and will only move an answer to prayer It was John Wesley who said it The famous statement God does nothing except he first sets his people to pray God does nothing except in answer to the prayer of his people And I believe that with all my heart that that the Angels do not move Except the Saints pray that the hand of God. It's a relational. It's a relational commitment It's a commitment of God's love to us. I will not move except I hear your heart And if you do not if my people do not speak to me, my hand is stayed I stay back and then the very Desperation of their circumstances causes them to cry out. So we connect we fall in love. We have a lover I mean we have a love relationship established and my hand is released in the context of that Persevering prayers critical. So I just have a few notes there. We're gonna we're gonna skip those go to page two. I May have a few verses there just on the prayer movement and the earth for moving heaven, etc. The book of Revelation. I Have as the last paragraph on site on page one The book of Revelation is the ultimate prayer manual in the scripture in my in my opinion The book of Revelation brings the apostolic prayers of the New Testament and the book of Revelation Brings the prayers of the Old Testament particular the book of Psalms and brings them together to a whole nother level It's a great prayer manual. It's it's it's parallels of the book of Psalms as a prayer manual We need to know the book of Revelation this idea that we can't understand the book of Revelation Which is a the prevailing view in the body of Christ. Well, you can't understand it anyway, all the scholars all argue with each other and So why bother with it? You can't understand it when this church believes they can't understand the book of Revelation It's not just they lose the ability to understand the end time charts, you know Well, I'm not really into that they lose the most dynamic prayer manual given to the body of Christ That's what happens. It's not just they lose the ability to say now. What's the order do the seals come before the trumpets? How's that work? Anyway, well, I don't know. I'm not really in the book of Revelation It's not an issue of being able to chart things out That's what the enemy would like us to think is the issue the book of Revelation No, when we don't understand the book of Revelation We lose the greatest prayer manual ever given to the planet the book of Revelation because we don't understand it to make sense We're not inspired by it. We're not directed by it. We don't make we can't really understand it and we put that great Manual down we put that great weapon down and the enemy goes. Oh, you'll never understand it. Anyway, put that Down you don't need it. It's gonna have be divisive. Anyway, it's just you know, have a real life be practical Don't mess with the book of Revelation get a practical life. That's not that's for just you know Heavenly minded people that are so heavily minded. No earthly good. In other words. He's saying put that Manual down It's trouble for his kingdom when this thing gets ignited in the spirit of the end-time Church the prayer manual part. I'm talking about Okay Roman number three Turn to Psalm 149 Psalm 149 Psalm 149 is a Parallel passage to the fifth seal just like the Daniel chapter 7 verse 9 to 11 is a parallel passage to the fifth seal No, this is really powerful as to the end time prayer movement God's gonna release the fifth seal But it's gonna be enjoyable prayer. It's enjoyable prayer. It's the prayer based on the bridal paradigm I'm gonna say it's strong. I'm our clear Psalm 149 is I mean in actuality the parallel passage to the fifth seal It's Psalm 149 has been true ever since it was penned by the hand of David. It's been true the whole time But it has its great impact in its great impact in the generation. The Lord returns. That's when the verse This passage is fulfilled in its in its entirety when the Lord returns It related to the coming of the Lord his coming and even afterwards But it's leading up to the coming and then the establishing of the transition time The house of prayer will keep going even after the Lord returns the house of prayer will continue To be useful in God's government even into the Millennial Kingdom Let's look at Psalm 149. It's a it's David's insight into the fifth seal a thousand years before John received the fifth seal praise the Lord say to the Lord a new song and his praise in the Assembly of the Saints Let Israel rejoice in their maker and I whenever you find the word rejoice in God put the word to enjoy God to rejoice in God boils down to enjoying God Let the children of Zion be joyful in the king. So there's a revelation of God as king, but there's an enjoyment of the king Let them praise with dance and timbrel and heart verse 4 verse 3. We're moving on now to verse 4. Here it is a real Clear statement of the bridal paradigm the Lord takes pleasure. He has great pleasure in his people The king is a bridegroom. He likes his people. He has great pleasure in his people and It's more than the fact that he has desire for them. He has a plan to release his beauty to them Again this thing comes to its fullness in the generation when the bride when the church has a bridal identity when the spirit of the bride cry come Beloved the prayer movement is set on fire by the revelation that God has pleasure in his people and that God has planned to release his beauty to them Beauty and pleasure set the prayer movement on fire the doctrine of God's pleasure and the doctrine of God's beauty are critical to the prayer movement Okay, verse 5 is gonna say for the third time. Let the Saints enjoy God Let the Saints enjoy their relationship with God, that's the third time that the word joyful rejoice or or Is mentioned it's enjoy we find it twice in verse 2 and now here in verse 5 Enjoy or rejoice let the Saints enjoy their relationship with the king let their spirits be exhilarated with the king Now we're gonna change Directions the first five verses is all about God's beauty pleasure and the Saints overflowing gladness. Oh, I love to love God There's the verses 1 to 5 bridal paradigm Verse 6 to 9 book of Revelation judgment of God. It's but it's one thing. I mean it really changes gears here in verse 6 So let the high praises of God be in the mouth of these people whom God has pleasure in God gives beauty to and the people Who enjoy God let high praises? Be in their mouth and what happens with this worship anointing with this prophetic singer anointing This is a prophetic singer anointing prophetic musicians. What happens verse 7 they Execute vengeance on the nations of the earth when we sing in this prayer room and Our just in a small way at this time, but I'm telling that let's take it. Let's forget. Let's not be so personal Let's think of the body of Christ worldwide because then I can speak more You know more clearly When the body of Christ worships worldwide We execute or we release God's judgment on the nations of the earth when we worship judgment comes on Washington DC And what does judgment mean God? Confronts and moves wrong things out of their place. That's what judgment is Making wrong things, right when we worship God executes judgment He breaks in and sometimes there's real negativity when he breaks in when he moves wrong things out of the way And sometimes it's not so negative when he moves wrong things out of the way, but either way he executes Vengeance and judgment on the nations of the earth the capitals of the earth The capital cities the the government centers in the natural the earth Look at verse 8 he binds Kings with chains Prayer meetings will result in governments to be overthrown prayer meetings will cause The the evil king to be taken captive out of his position of power to be led out of his power as a prisoner Against his will of course this happens in its fullness at the coming of the Lord Jesus actually puts them in chains Psalm 110 describes this in detail I mean, they're literally put in chains and they're executed They're killed for real and it's related to the prayer movement verse 9 This high praise. What does it do it executes on the governmental leaders of the earth the written? judgments when we sing the body of Christ when we worship what happens is we execute the written judgment on the on the political leaders of the earth and That written judgment in its fullest sense before the Lord returns is the trumpets and the bowls Revelation 8 is all about this revelation 8 the first six verses is all about this right here And this is what's going on in the fifth seal now look at this just so I mean talking about a Unusual ending to Psalm 149. This is the honor for every single born-again believer. This is the privilege Now was David exaggerating I mean everyone Oh Lord, I know some really kind of not Really? They're gonna do this and logos. Yeah Yeah, because it's not how smart they are it's not how cool they are it's not how good they say it It's their human spirit agrees with God and the grace of God takes this feeble groan and turns it into a force of power the throne of grace It's the honor for all Saints, I mean think of the weakest believer you can think of okay Now if you've thought of this person your name better be way up to the top of the list. It's just a little tip-off and so If your name's not at the top of that list doc I Didn't read a book I know about this but So think of the weakest Saints, you know, it is their honor It's their privilege to operate in this and the point of this is is not it not always at all inclusive It's just the fact the weakest of the weak. It's the weak groan in the name of Jesus It's the groan of the prisoner mixed with the grace of God made powerful at the throne of God shifting history It's not just the folks that get on the microphone and and you know and speak with authority or speak with confidence or speak loud Or yell or donate their tonsils to the cause. It's not just that It's in our little little dinky setting here you can be in the back row just back there and you maybe never go the microphone and it's not about going the microphone people go Get up the microphone. I got this really the microphone is not an issue in my opinion. It doesn't matter. You can sit your chair go Just throw in the name of Jesus Jesus if you want to shorten it go Abba, you know just even really make it short I'm telling you the groan of the prisoner in the name of Jesus the feeble groan And we're in unity, you know, they're praying up here. Just just go with it. Just yes. Yes, you have to say it You don't have to say it every second just in your spirit I'm telling you this thing will dethrone powers and governments Psalm 149 is about the overthrow of the Antichrist Government at the second coming of Christ That's what it's about at the highest and the overthrow of this government is through the releasing of the trumpets and the bowls and then the Battle of Armageddon, that's what the prayer movement will release the trumpets the bowls of judgment and then the Battle of Armageddon The Battle of Armageddon is one of the great days for the church We've heard of Armageddon we think oh, no, no. No. Oh, yes This is when the great triumphs of the prayer movement is the Battle of Armageddon That's one of the great triumph triumphs of the prayer movement. It's a crescendo point in history Now interesting now, I don't want to ruin a song for you But you know the famous song the high praise of God, you know, that's a dude You start your hand and we're vengeance on nations and you know, I just always get a kick out of it We're all dancing and having fun and I'm thinking Read the words billions of people dying earthquakes breaking buildings collapsing Plagues breaking out I go, you know, let's go for it. But this is a serious song It's a serious Psalm, amen It is Okay verse a I'm verse a taking myself too serious. Okay paragraph a It's not a verse Okay, I'm gonna skip it because I just looked at it no, it's I've already said it three times, okay Okay, let's go to number one Under B the bowls, let's look at the book of Revelation is describing It's describing a progression Well, I guess let's let's actually look at B. Psalm 149 is the backdrop to the fifth seal Psalm 49 is the backdrop for Psalm 49 is the fifth seal Together with Revelation 8 now what or it's this bridal paradigm. Remember Psalm 49. It's worshipping Loving being loved enjoying dancing prophetic music in it releasing vengeance on Kings Bringing Kings out of their place of power against their will as a prisoner in chains. It's killing them It's killing the Kings Psalm 110 Especially the last verse 4 to 6 talks about when Jesus comes He will slaughter the kings of the earth. He will kill them and their blood will be spilt over there Psalm 149 is Critically related to Kings and chains being slaughtered and killed these evil kings and in league with Satan Okay now and be here in the middle of the paragraph the progression of the prayer movement described is described there's a progression in the book of Revelation of this prayer movement and It's it's the Psalm 149 concert of prayer, but it's in the it's described in the book of Revelation number one The bowls of prayer are full word worldwide. That's the stage. We're in right now Revelation 5 8 Revelation 5 8 that's this that's the next stage in the prayer movement that I find in the book of Revelation The next stage is the bowls of prayer becoming full right now. The bowls are not full We are working together with every believer in our city to get the bowls of prayer full in this city Now we need every believer in Kansas City working together on this we want to see the bowls of prayer full for our nation It's not enough just for our nation. We want to see it for the nations of the earth When the bowls of prayer are full Then then the last three and a half years begins There is a in Revelation 5 8 when it says that the bowls are full That is an indicator that there's a prayer movement that escalates dynamically before Before the tribulation the girl last three and a half years the prayer movement reaches a high place first beloved what we are doing as feeble as it is as weak as it is is critical part of the of the Plan in the book of Revelation we're praying we're singing with high praise Well, it's not that high but you know, we're singing with praise and we want the Lord's anointing to bring it to a whole nother level Well, why I'm saying this to you isn't so we just all feel good about ourselves. It's not that So we think oh we got a ministry better than the other ministry. No, that's not it I'm not interested in that that will hurt the prayer movement that kind of attitude What I'm saying is this what we're doing seems so feeble seems so weak and this guy and that guy says Oh, you're wasting your time and the devil comes and tries to get us in the sin and compromise our spirits dead or get us We just lose the battle in the mundaneness of it. We draw back from the perseverance we get into darkness beloved There is nothing Satan wants more than the prayer movement not to go forward He fears the prayer movement far more than he fears the preaching and the service into the kingdom the preachers have been preaching for 2,000 years and the service and of all the outreaches have been going on and we need a million more of each of those I'm not in any way minimizing those. I'm a preacher I believe in preaching but the great missing element is the escalating prayer movement it will cause the preaching to go into a place of power and the acts of service will and Deeds of kindness will go into so much more authority when the prayer movements in place Satan doesn't like preaching and deeds of kindness. He doesn't like it Because it moves things forward but the prayer movement sets the thing into a whole nother order The prayer movement brings the thing to a whole nother realm. He does not want the prayer move He wants you lost in the mundaneness of life. Just where I'm not gonna do that prayer thing. I just kind of lost my way It's a different season, you know The Lord's got me doing this and anything any logic to get you out of the place of prayer Satan will use Well, I got to do this a little bit of that I get this and that it's not the season this and that beloved It is always the season to grow in prayer always. There's no such thing as it's not the season for my spirit to grow in prayer Well one guy loses his way in the mundaneness I was talking about this last night The next guy loses his way because he starts flirting with darkness then he gets ensnared in his spirit It's so dull when he goes to the prayer room He cannot endure the prayer room because his spirit is dulled by compromise Satan goes Yes, I don't if I can't get him bored in the mundaneness I will get them dulled by compromise. I can't get him either way. I will get them offended through trials and tribulations Satan once you offended through trials Dulled by compromise or bored in just a mundane routine or anything to keep your spirit From being hot and fiery But beloved let me tell you good news Revelation 5 8 the bowls are going to be full and The bowls are full before the first seal was unreleased before the Antichrist is released The prayer movement will be in a hot place worldwide One person says I could happen any day now. It's not I assure you It's not there are plenty of signs and they're been there in signs of the times and they're growing and increasing I mean the awareness of them and they're and the signs themselves But this thing will not happen until the prayer movement is hot and the prayer movement worldwide is still very very weak It's much stronger than it was ten years ago But still very very weak for God to a lease to for Jesus to release the first seal The political aggression of the Antichrist in the world war without a hot prayer movement would lead the bride of Christ Defenseless and the most strategic hour of history. He says no. I love you so much I'm gonna let you really get challenged. I'm gonna bring I'm gonna push you out And challenge you to a whole new measure in the end times Jesus with saves to his church, but I'm not gonna take I'm not gonna let this thing happen without years without the church with the prayer ministry worldwide It's hot. The bowls will be full before the first seal is released. What we're doing is critical I mean, it's feeble and in our little microscopic little way here I mean, we're just one little part of a million prayer groups in the earth and so whatever but every little prayer group It matters what we're doing Absolutely Number two what happens now? The prayer movement goes to another level in chapter 6 verse 10 the sixth fifth seal There's authority on it as martyrdom goes forth of martyrdom. It releases authority on the prayer room because again it it removes the The whole compromise with martyrdom there is no there are no half-and-half believers only on fire believe martyrdom brings the best out of the church worldwide Martyrdom brings the very best out of God's people. It really does You know, I don't know what the percentage will be But whatever percentage it is the percentage will be a lot higher than any time in history It might reach 20 30 40 50 percent. I don't know Maybe it probably won't reach at that level, but it might it will bring the very best out of the church And we'll be the strongest in prayer So it's gonna set that's chapter 6 verse 10 all sudden the prayer movement goes to a whole nother level Then chapter 8 verse 3 and 4 Chapter 8 verse 3 and 4 there's fire added to the prayers of the Saints. There's a divine authority and There's a fire dimension added to the prayer that's beyond any other of the places of the book of Revelation and I mean it really picks up then and Then of course the ultimate place of prayer is the very last there's a few verses. There's a few verses. I'm skipping I'm just giving an overview of it There's a the ultimate place is Revelation 22 17 with the Spirit of the Bride cry come that's Psalm 149 at its fullness And the Spirit of the Bride cry come the Jesus doesn't come to a prayerless church. He didn't come to a vacuum He comes in answer to a global prayer movement under the anointing of the Spirit doing Psalm 149 Okay. Well, I think I look at some of the other notes I think I'll just skip those and we'll just leave you with them. I've kind of said it all anyway So let's end with that so that's the fifth seal I Want to encourage us to re-sign up for the prayer movement? It's so critical again, we so easily hear the Word of the Lord to draw back from the per we got a Do this do that fix this fix that go here go there. There's so much to do so many mandates and One month becomes two and two months becomes a year and our spirit is weakened in prayer And we look back at those those we were supposed to go here go there fix this fix that Stop this start that whatever a year comes and go and beloved. I measure it by one thing I want to know where this where the Spirit of might is in our prayer life When I look back and it's a year later, and I'm less My spirit is less engaged in the place of prayer. I look back and say I missed it I missed it Lord. I don't want to miss it again. I want to learn from it I'm not just talking about going to a prayer meeting. That's what I mean. That's certainly going to permit helps it I'm talking my spirit engaged in reality I'm gonna call people forward to come stand up here. They're saying you Lord. I got to get serious about this I need to I need to get in line with the honor the honor of the place of prayer This is the honor of all the Saints. I want you all to stand up if you would Let's just all stand in but if you're in a place you're saying I got to get I got to really realign myself And come to another level in this season my life and prayer comes down on the blue lines We want to pray for you now we're gonna have the Internship information meeting at about 15 minutes We're
