Sermon Transcription
God lives and works today. His promises are true and they never fail to come to pass. Today, in Christ Jesus, God is making us an offer that will make us happy and free and victorious over every sin. In the following meditation written by Basilia Schlink, we can discover all that His victory has accomplished and how that victory is available to us today. Lift up your voices in joy and sing of His victory. And sing in the dwellings of the righteous. The right hand of God has been raised. His hand is the hand of victory. Alleluia! Alleluia! The right hand of God has been raised. His hand is the hand of victory. What a promise the Word of God gives us, right in the midst of the reality of our times. What an offer our Lord Jesus has for us. But perhaps the question will arise in many hearts. Isn't hell raging today more than ever? Aren't crime, violence, and revolutions on the increase? People are dying in terrible ways. What has happened to the victory of Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ is making us an offer. Through His resurrection, He was victorious over everything. And in a certain sense, He's now offering us a check for every situation, for every sin and problem, for every battle. A check which could completely change our situation. However, it won't do us any good if we don't accept His present, that is, His help. What He's offering us cannot be expressed in words. It surpasses all other offers that our wildest fancy could ever dream of in the way of wealth, happiness, and help. These are not empty words. Jesus has an abundance of joy to offer, a joy that's so strong that it overcomes and extinguishes all sadness. Jesus has peace to offer, peace which is so strong that it can destroy all the fears that seek to devour us. Jesus' offer of victory is so far-reaching that it can break and conquer the strongest bondages of our character. It can release us from the greatest power of sin in which a man was born or into which he's fallen. For the almighty risen Lord Jesus Christ can transform things in our life that seem to us to be impossible. Therefore, come to Him. Come to the living Lord and claim His victory. Then your life will be filled with victory and joy. Jesus, God of every suffering, God sent for evermore. Jesus, so high exalted, Your victory we adore. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
