Welcome to the Lord's Challenge, our weekly quarter-hour broadcast, bringing the reality of God's Word to all people everywhere. Stay tuned as Joshua Daniel challenges us to a walk with God and the corresponding impact that will have on our lives, families, and society today. You know, we will learn this very important thing, that we are accountable to God. Call on me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not. See, if we fail to do so, what happens means we can do without the blessing of God, we can do without God. If you take the Word of God away, you don't know where you are standing. Now, let us turn to Malachi, third chapter please. From the fifth verse, I will come near to you to judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right. And fear not me, said the Lord of hosts, for I am the Lord, I change not. Therefore, you sons of Jacob are not consumed. I change not. You know, we are today witnessing a situation even in those countries where the Bible has been taught, yet we see people clamoring to have their own way. God says, I change not. You know, one of those young fellows who was converted in our meetings was a doctoral student. However, when he turned to the Lord and became a witness for Jesus, he said to me one day, my father has taken a new wife. What? He's an Oxford man, my father knows better. He's high up in the government, but he has taken another wife. Well, my dear friends, I have found that when the gospel went to heathen lands, I refer to the broad picture of heathen lands. You see, that was one of the first things that they had to encounter. You cannot have a multitude of wives and a blood harem and try to teach morality to the rest of the world. You can't have 22 wives and tell other people, hey, you need to live chaste lives. But that's how it goes. Now, my dear friends, we are told by God, I change not. Suppose there's an earthquake today and these old structures begin to shake. I'd like to see which of you would scramble to the door first. I tell you, there would be more than a rugby scrimmage here. And why? We don't want the foundations taken away. Today, what are we witnessing? The foundations are shaking. And, you know, society is not geared to handle this situation. And human nature, you and I, you know, like a child got a telephone call from a mother who said, I'm calling you from a telephone booth. Of course, now telephone booths are out of style, I guess. You don't need them anymore because everybody is latched on to the telephone, you see. And it's either gurgling in their breast pocket or it is sounding off in the church sermon time. However, what was this call about? Now take care of yourself. I'm quitting. What do you mean? When a mother quits or when a father quits, boy, what happens to the family, to the children? And today many teachers say more than half the students or pupils in schools are children out of broken homes. Their attention span is limited. The foundations have been shaken. You know, friends, we don't want our dads to change, you see. We want an affectionate, godly dad. We don't want a runaway dad. We don't want his money, but we want that character. Now, so how do we deal with this great God who does not change? If you turn to Romans, the first chapter and verse 23, say here God is saying, the word of God is saying, 22nd verse, professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. And change the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man. And to birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things. You know, folks, when I begin to speak in countries where there is an abundance of idolatry, I say, how can a monkey be a God? Okay, get a monkey to your dinner table and see if he acts like a God. How can a cobra be a God? And you think of worshipping him. You know, my dear friends, at a time when some of these superstitions are sweeping over the western lands, a vacuum, a spiritual vacuum has been created. And what happens when a vacuum is there? Wind rushes in from every direction. Spiritual vacuum in families, spiritual vacuum in countries, spiritual vacuum in the parliaments and the houses of Congress. And what happens? All kinds of creeds and false ideologies rush in. I asked somebody, they're having a big sale in this whole area. 40% off the suits. You know, my dear friends, a suit which I purchased way back in 1960 just stayed clean and beautiful. But today, manufacturing is gone. People have lost the skills. The mills have shut down. Greed has taken over. All right, how long does slave labor last? Already the wages that are being demanded in those countries where labor was cheap has increased. Their demands are ever increasing. And so we are going to have a bad product, perhaps at a slightly lesser price. What is it that you're producing? What is it that we are producing? I want to tell you, a characterless nation consumes its heirlooms. All its wealth, all its treasured property is gone. Now, when I see people of every nationality, I have no quarrel with that. But I have a quarrel with this. Now, wherever I have gone, I said, what shall I do for this nation? How shall I lift the nation? How shall I bring the truth that will liberate people from greed and laziness? Now, my dear people, what I do object to is this. This un-Christian attitude. What will I get out of it? No, that's no Christian attitude at all. How am I going to enrich the place? How am I going to bring jobs to the country? How am I going to build the nation? That's the Christian attitude. I feel very sad today. We have the great opportunity to give the word of God to all kinds of people. And we are not doing it. I can't understand this. That's not a Christian trait at all. For I am the Lord. I change not. Let us pray. Oh God, that changes not. We come to you. Lord our God, Thou knowest, we do live in perilous times. And there is no sense of accountability. We have come to such a pass when we don't see men hold themselves accountable. Come Lord and visit us. We beg you in Jesus' holy name. Amen. The speaker on this program was Joshua Daniel.
