Sermon Summary
George H. Alquist Jr. preaches on the necessity for everyone to be born again, emphasizing that all individuals are sinners by nature and in need of salvation to avoid eternal separation from God. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone, one can be born again into God's family, acknowledging their sinfulness and accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior. The urgency of being born again is highlighted, urging individuals to make this life-changing decision now to secure their eternal destiny.
Born Again: Who, How, Why, When? (Tract)
WHO NEEDS TO BE BORN AGAIN? EVERYONE! Each and every individual must be born again. “Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3) God wants everyone to be saved. “The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) WHY BE BORN AGAIN? Because every person born into this world is a sinner by nature and by choice thereby making him unfit for Heaven. “There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10) “For there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:22, 23) Because of sin, man must spend eternity away from God in hell forever. “For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23) “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4) This means eternal torment in the Lake of Fire of Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake of fire which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.” “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15) Friend, every human being is headed for eternity in hell because of sin. Our just penalty for sin is physical and spiritual death. That is why Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7) HOW CAN I BE BORN AGAIN? By turning away from anyone and anything that you are now trusting in or hoping to get you to Heaven and placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9) “Not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us…” (Titus 3:5) Jesus Christ died and shed His blood for YOU to pay the penalty of YOUR sin. “That while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) You can be born again into God’s family by admitting that you are a sinner deserving of hell and that you cannot earn or deserve salvation. You believe Jesus Christ died as your substitute to pay for your sins, rose again, and asking Him to forgive you and be your Lord and Savior. “But as many as received Him, TO THEM gave He power to become the sons of God… which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12,13) This is being born again! “For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) WHEN SHOULD I BE BORN AGAIN? NOW! You should even as you read this tract. “Behold, NOW is the accepted time, behold, NOW is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2) Don’t put it off – tomorrow may be too late! “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Proverbs 27:1) Many folks will die today boasting of what they plan to do tomorrow, next week, next month – but that time never came. Right now, won’t you please bow your head and pray, “Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner undeserving of Heaven and on my way to hell. I now trust Jesus Christ alone and receive Him as my Lord and Savior trusting Him to forgive my sins and give me eternal life. Thank you Lord for saving me.” NOW WHAT? If you have just received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you should not be ashamed to tell others. “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in Heaven.” (Matthew 10:32) Find a good Bible-believing church, go forward and tell the folks you have been saved, be baptized and join. WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS? We want to help any way that we can. If you have other questions, please fell free to write to the address below. If you have received Christ as your personal Savior, we want to congratulate you upon making the most important decision of your life. May God bless you as you seek to serve Him.
