1 Sermon Illustrations on The Church

1 illustration

The church represents the collective body of believers empowered by the Holy Spirit to advance God's kingdom on earth, embodying unity and spiritual strength (Ephesians 4:12). Illustrations often depict the church as a fortress, a body, or a mighty force, emphasizing its divine power and mission to conquer sin and darkness (Acts 1:8).

Power, of the Church

The Church, empowered by God, is a mighty force to conquer the world for Christ.

If, as a recent writer says, "A powerless Christian ought to be felt to be as great a misnomer as a forceless thunderbolt," what a resistless army ought the Church, enrolled under the banner of the Lord of Hosts, to be? Strong in faith, in purity, in prayer, in unity, in hope, in effort, in trial, in weakness, in wealth, in culture, in numbers, but strongest of all in God, why shall it not conquer the world for Christ?
