We to the throne of grace boldly come

We to the throne of grace boldly come For help to obtain mercy and grace; And not to round the cross and adore, For my Lord is not at that place. From the fetters of death He came forth, Risen, ascended was He! And so now from the throne of grace, His life flows to supply me.

Through heav'nly ladder my spirit's joined To the throne of grace though high above; Now to the spirit I always turn, Cease from wand'ring in soulish love. Jesus my Lord is the great High Priest, Full of compassion is He! Through Him before God's presence come, To the end He will save me.

Oh, praise the Lord, my High Priest is He, Melchizedec's order was ordained; And now I fight for God's benefit, He intercedes and pow'r regains. Till I have overcome all the foes, With bread and wine I'd be fed! O, what freedom and liberty— Perfect salvation is led!
