kı̄n: (1) אלפים, ’ălāphı̄m, plural of אלף, ’eleph, “ox,” or “cow,” the American Standard Revised Version “cattle,” the King James Version and the English Revised Version “kine” (Deu 7:13; Deu 28:4, Deu 28:18, Deu 28:51); (2) בּקר, bāḳār, “ox” or “cow,” the American Standard Revised Version “herd,” the King James Version and the English Revised Version “kine” (Deu 32:14; 2Sa 17:29); (3) פּרות, pāroth, plural of פרה, pārāh, “young cow” or “heifer,” the Revised Version (British and American) “kine” in Gen 41:2-27; 1Sa 6:7-14; Amo 4:1; in Gen 32:15, the American Standard Revised Version has “cows.” See CATTLE; COW.
