CAPTAINS AND PRINCES APPOINTEDTwelve captains were appointed, each man serving one month of the year over a course of twenty-four thousand.
1 Chronicles 27:16
And so onone man from each of the twelve tribes so that there were twelve princes of the tribes of Israel. Now notice this verse:
1 Chronicles 27:23
David took the census before because he didn’t believe God; it was an act of unbelief. God told him, “Trust Me. I’ll supply all the men you need for your army.” Now David does not take a census. He rests upon God’s promise. Chapter 27 concludes with a list of officers which are in charge of King David’s personal properties.
