The Great Commentary of Cornelius à Lapide
Cornelius à Lapide (1567–1637) was a Flemish Jesuit priest and professor of Sacred Scripture at Leuven and Rome. His Great Commentary covers nearly the entire Bible and is one of the most extensive commentaries ever written, drawing on the Church Fathers, medieval theologians, and the author's own vast learning. It remains one of the most important Catholic commentaries and a treasure of patristic and scholastic biblical interpretation.
