Robert Jamieson (1802–1880), A.R. Fausset (1821–1910), and David Brown (1803–1897) were Scottish and Irish clergymen and scholars whose collaborative Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible (1871) became one of the most widely used evangelical commentaries in the English-speaking world. Covering every book of the Bible in a single volume, JFB combines critical scholarship with practical exposition, and it remains a standard reference after more than 150 years.
