1 Kings 9
Everett1 Kings 9:1-28
1 Kings 9:15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer. 1 Kings 9:15 — Word Study on “Millo” – Strong says the Hebrew name “Millo” (îִ ?ìּ ?åֹ ?à) (H4407) literally means, “a rampart (as filled in), i.e. the citadel.” PTW says it means, “fullness.” 1 Kings 9:21-22 — Comments – Solomon’s Tax - This type of tax is exactly what Jesus is talking about in Matthew 17:25. Matthew 17:25, “He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?”
