Judges 12:3
Put] A Scripture phrase; that is to say, I have put my selfe into great danger of my life. like as that which is some in the palme of ones hand, may easily fall, o bsntched away.

Becausetiey 〈◊〉] The Ephraimites pride was the occasion of this wa, who in ct pt 〈◊〉 upbraid the Gileadites, saying they could not live, but only by their benefi and favour, and that they had no power of themselves, being encompassed by these two mighty Tribes, and that they ought not to go about any publick enterprise, without them, who were their heads and protectors.

In one of the Cities] Or in the Country of Gilead, which was divided into severall cities.
