shall stand = abideth firm. Compare Genesis 23:17, Genesis 23:20. Psalms 19:7. Isaiah 14:24; Isaiah 40:8. Jeremiah 44:29.

Numbers 30:7

her. Some codices, with Samaritan Pentateuch, Septuagint, Syriac, and Vulgate, read “all her”, as in Numbers 30:4.

Numbers 30:9

divorced. Hebrew “put away [from her husband]”. Compare Leviticus 21:7.

Numbers 30:12

hath utterly made them void. Figure of speech Polyptoton (App-6). Hebrew “a making void he hath made them void”. Figure of speech well represented by the word “utterly”. See note on Genesis 26:28.

altogether, &c. Hebrew “a holding his peace, he held his peace”. Figure of speech Polyptoton (App-6), well translated by “altogether”.
