The Biblical Illustrator
Joseph S. Exell (1849–1910) was a prolific English editor and compiler of homiletical works. The Biblical Illustrator is a massive multi-volume collection of sermon illustrations, anecdotes, quotations, and expository notes arranged verse by verse, drawn from hundreds of preachers and writers across the centuries. Designed as a preacher's companion, it provides rich material for sermon preparation on nearly every verse of the Bible.
