the first day] ver. 3. Hezekiah begins Reformation on the very first day of his reign. Or rather on the first day of the year which fell out towards the later end of the first year of Ezekiah’s reigne.
sixteenth day] So that Passeover was past, and not kept.

XXIX. 34. and receive the blood, 2 Chron. XXX. 16, 17. The Priests only, not the Levites, came to the Altar, to lay the wood, sprinkle the blood, and burn them, Levit. l. 7. &c. and chap. III. 2, 5. 2 Chron. XXXV. 14.
