NOTE
WE can sometimes get the point of view of an author more quickly if we know what he is not trying to do. In this book I am not trying to prove anything. I am not seeking to prove the existence of God, or the primacy of the ethical attributes in the character of God, or the Christlikeness of God. Assuming such Christlikeness, I am simply trying to see whither it will lead us in our thought of God. I seek to follow out implications and not to adduce proofs.
FRANCIS J. McCoNNELL.
