What Is A Christian?

THIRD YEAR--SUBJECT 41 What is a Christian?

(READ John 15) In our subject lesson we have examined the life work of Christ, the estab¬lishment of his kingdom, her officers and the work of her evangelists, the discipline of her members, and the life work of all who may desire to be members of the same.

We now come to ask the plain simple question, what is a Christian? Not what I must do to become one, but what is one in all the different works of Christianity; and is there sufficient inducement held out to cause one to desire to be a Christian, and finally reach heaven as his home?

What Is A Christian?

QUESTIONS A Christian is:

1. In faith—a believer. John 3:18.

2. In knowledge—a disciple. Colossians 1:9.

3. In character—a saint. Romans 1:7.

4. In Influence—a light. Ephesians 5:8.

5. In conflict—a soldier. Ephesians 6:13-18.

6. In communion—a friend. John 15:15.

7. In progress—a pilgrim. Hebrews 11:13.

8. In relationship—a child. Romans 8:14-16.

9. In waiting—a watchman . Matthew 25:13.

10. In work — a faithful steward. Luke 12:42-44.

11. In worship — walking by faith. 2 Corinthians 5:7.

12. In expectation—an heir. 1 Peter 1:3-7.
