Appendix A Kansas City Prophets Quotes
I promised you I would give you a brief overview of some of the Kansas City Prophets and significantly related ministries. Most of what I shall include in this appendix will be quotes, to let them speak for themselves.
More Bob Jones
I believe I have a word from the Lord concerning children that would involve totally hundreds of children that would come from the loins of this fellowship... This seed will bring forth the testimony of Jesus Christ and the glorious church. These are the delivers of the end time army... These are the children of promise you’re looking upon... These are them the prophets have waited for many thousands of years to come forth... These are the ones he foreknew and predestined to come forth and to be the last delivers of the last age... He has waited over six thousand years for these to grow up.Visions and Revelations.
Bob Jones on the Shepherd’s Rod So when he [the prophet] went under that shepherd rod, we saw more people leave here than we saw anointed. They were rejected from leadership cause they had flaws in them. See, that which is going to be holy unto the Lord must not have any flaws in it...it’s all in scripture. When you go under it, he just turns you upside down and He looks every place on your body. And if you be found all right, He marks you to be a living, holy, sacrifice unto Him. One out of 10’s marked totally unto the Lord. That’s a shepherd’s rod...He evaluates everyone that knows the Lord Jesus Christ as saviour...When I went under at this time, He said, There’s a couple of things that’s still wrong in you, there’s going to be a seven month delay in your anointing." We all have a problem when Mike [Bickle] seeks to conjure up divine approval for his "movement" with stories of supernatural confirmations that are blatantly false. For example, Mike regularly retells the story of how the so-called "prophet" Bob Jones predicted [in May, 1983] a three month drought which would finally end with a "drought breaker" on August 23. In telling this tale, Mike makes such statements as, "we watched it day by day...June, no rain...then on August 23, three to four inches of rain!" It sounded like a pretty impressive miracle until we checked it with the National Weather Bureau and the daily newspaper accounts for that time frame. We found the following:
1. Actual readings from the former Richard Gebaur Air Force Base, which is only a few minutes from KCF show over seven inches of rain in June, which is well over normal!
2. The "drought breaker" on August 23, actually produced less than one third of an inch.
3. Of the 12 days it rained in June, six of them produced records of rains heavier than the "drought breaker." One day alone had over seven times the rainfall of August 23, 2.35 inches. (From What’s the Problem, Ernie Gruen.)
I saw intercession on a scale like I’ve never seen it before. I saw men crying, I saw the leadership of this entire body, one big body, all of us all over town; we came together as one big body. I was over there with Jim a while ago. My hands turned blue, and then they turned purple. And when that happens, that means you’ve got some incense that’s gone up. You’ve got some intercession that’s gone up that Papa’s saying yes to. There’s some prayers that’s gone on here that the answer is yes... When you’ve got this kind of anointing, some of you are already entering that secret place of the Most High. You’re already bowing down to that altar of incense. Your tears are falling on those coals and they’re coming before Papa. Papa’s saying, "Come with more. Believe for more." Because when my hands turn purple, it means you’re getting through to royalty; you’re getting through to the top. It’s yea and amen; and that’s what He’s calling you into: that holy place of divine heath. The Holy of Holies which your children are called to enter in can crash that threshold. It’s called the place of divine health... That’s what the children are entering into: they’ll have the Spirit without measure, they’ll walk through walls; they’ll be translated, everything that was ever in scripture." [Author] Well, once you are conditioned to smell incense and judge answered prayer by the color of a man’s hand, it’s only a few short steps to getting intoxicated. It’s all so sensual!

Paul Cain, "You Can Become the Word!" From 1989, Vineyard Prophetic Conference.
...Every time God ever planned to do anything, the devil would get wind of it and he’d go out there are try to head it off... When he knew Moses was coming, what did he do to stop him... He killed all the babies. What did he do when he figured that Jesus was going to be bom at a certain time? He released a decree through the wicked ruler to kill all the babies. Don’t you see? And what’s he doing now?... Abortions on every hand. So, you must know something’s coming up greater than Moses, greater than,... Even in Jesus’ day, because the devil is trying to kill off the New Breed. He’s trying to kill off the bride of Christ and trying to kill the whole thing off, but the Lord has well planted this seed and the New Bride and the New Breed... He’s about to open the womb and He’s about to give birth to this New Thing... When the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us we beheld the glories of the only begotten of the Father and when you begin to become that Word I want you to know. The world will behold the glory of the Father and that’s what we’re waiting to see... I want you to know that we’re going to have some channelling one of these days, but it’s going to be channelled right out of the throne room of Heaven.
Now, the last part of that prophecy is partially true, being fulfilled at Toronto and scattered Vineyards all over the world. There is a form of channelling, lions roaring through people, even bull’s snorting and in some cases, eagles. And, it has been interpreted by some to mean that the cherubim from the throne room of God are manifesting through people! Could this be what Cain was talking about?
Paul Cain’s Prophesied New Order
God’s raising up a new standard, a new banner, if you will, that’s going to radically change the expression, the understanding of Christianity in our generation... God has invited us to have a role in establishing a new order of Christianity... God is offering to this generation something He has never offered to any other generation... beware lest old order brethren rob you and steal this hope from you. (From Vineyard Prophecy Conference.) This kind of talk should scare you. Redefining Christianity? A new standard? Where does that ever get offered or promoted in scripture? This is the kind of prophet warned of in Deuteronomy 13:1-18, who is leading God’s people after other gods.
John Paul Jackson From Ernie Gruen’s What’s the Problem.
We all have a problem when so called "prophets" make completely irresponsible predictions and frighten Christian brethren with alarming prophecies...supposedly from God...warning of immanent disasters. For example, in November of 1987, after the stock market plunge in October, John Paul Jackson warns that there’s going to be a fall in the stock market that 1988 will be a severe year for the stock market, and that "it will be severe between here and there, but nothing like 1988 will bring"... In actual fact, there was nothing that even remotely resembled a financial collapse in 1988. The market low was 1879.14 rather than 400 points, [Bob Jones predicted it would go that low] and the year closed at 2168.50, higher than it began.
John Paul Jackson on Dreams
"We can learn to interpret 99% to 100% of our dreams by recording them and figuring out our personal "dream alphabet" of symbols." From a testimony letter in What’s the Problem?
John Paul came and prophesied... "CCF will collapse unless it comes under "Mike’s [Bickle] anointing." Two things bother me: we have done fine for four years, there should be nothing to fear... "Mike’s anointing"... I want Jesus’ anointing. When all of this came out in 1990-1991,1 think it’s important to note, that none of these men, including John Paul Jackson, had to quit ministering. Jackson was shipped out to California to minister with Wimber. He still carries on his prophetic ministry" to this day!

There will also be some new wonders coming to the church. We had some of these just recently where Bob Jones and I heard angels singing twice in a meeting. This didn’t even take any faith, it was so loud and so clear, it was like a choir singing. Another time, we had the odor of incense fill a meeting for about 15 minutes. It was so intense that you couldn’t help but smell it... He gave it as a witness that He was receiving the intercession from these people, the prayers and their intercession. He had said He would come with a sign that we would smell the incense. It came so powerfully faith was hardly needed. And we saw the wind of the Spirit blow so hard at a meeting you could see people’s hair blowing! So He is coming a whole lot more dramatically. As one brother said, This hardly takes any faith, it is so obvious.’ But when He comes in ways like that, it is always to give a message. He is not just trying to tickle our curiosity or our interest in supernatural things, He is trying to say something to us.
One of the major points I have tried to make through this book, is that there has been a "conditioning" of God’s people over the years. They have been conditioned to become more attuned to sensual manifestation than to the Word of God. Joyner ends this paragraph by saying that "He (God) is trying to say something to us." God has spoken already through His Son and through the Word of God, He doesn’t need to give you scents of honeysuckle to let you know He heard your prayers. He wants us to come by faith. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews IL6
I could go on and on about the damage done to the Charismatic church and the Body as a whole, through the Kansas City Prophets affair, but I think I’ve made my point. I contend that what we are seeing in Toronto, through Rodney Howard Browne, and all over the world, is merely the logical next step, to what was begun in the 1940’s, carried on by the Latter Rain/Manifested Sons teachers, progressing into the Dominion Now, Kingdom Now crowd, The Faith Message, the prophetic move, up to this day. Where is this "river" taking us? Into delusion and apostasy!
