THE KINGDOM WITHIN Unless one is born of the water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3.5 To see the kingdom of God which is inside us, we need to be born a second time and take on a new nature. Happy are those who have eyes to see that kingdom. Flesh and blood are not capable of seeing it, because mere animal instinct is blind and is content to be so. To our fleshly nature, what God is doing inside us is only a dream. For us to see the wonders of that inner kingdom, we have to be reborn. And to be reborn, we have to die. Though the world may scorn, condemn, and mock us, to us it is given to believe, to accept, and to become fully alive. When we take time for one simple moment of inner recollection in yielding ourselves to God, we see and hear more than the intellectual reasoning of all humanity put together. When we hush our desires and thoughts, and turn our attentions away from outward things, we enter into the light. And then it is that we discover God reigning on the throne of his kingdom inside us.
