Meditations on the Heart of God by Fenelon. Where is our faith? When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth? If the Son of Man were to come at this very moment, would He find faith in us? Where is our faith? Where is the evidence of it? Do we really believe that this life is only a short transition to a better one? Do we believe that we have to suffer with Jesus Christ before we spend eternity with Him? Do we regard the world as a passing illusion and death as the entrance into the treasures of real value? Do we live by faith? Does it stir us to life? Do we cherish the timeless truths it presents us? Do we nourish our souls with faith, taking the same care to feed our souls that we take to nourish our bodies with proper food? Do we make it our practice to look at everything through the eyes of faith? Do we use our faith to correct all our thoughts and judgments? Alas, far from living by faith, we often cause faith to die in our minds and in our hearts. We think as if we were pagans and we behave in the same way. If someone wanted to believe what he should believe, would he do what we do?
