1 Teach us to feel as Jesus prayed,
When on the cross he bleeding hung;
When all his foes their wrath displayed,
And with their spite his bosom stung.

2 For such a heart and such a love,
O Lord, we raise our prayer to thee;
O pour thy Spirit from above,
That we may like our Saviour be.
