Little Children

(2 Kings 2:23) As Elisha went up to Bethel "there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him." The Hebrew word here does not mean little children, any more than does the word used by the Lord in John 21:5. "Then Jesus said unto them, Children, have ye any meat?" Both terms have a general meaning. The "children" who mocked Elisha and were punished so severely, were no doubt young men.
