I have distributed them among my comrades, and they were very glad to receive them. I am sorry to inform you that I have not a friend in this wide world to look to, but I think I have found one at last, and that is you. My mother died when I was three years old, and my father got killed in work as a bricklayer, and I was the only son. So you see I am proper destitute. ― A.P.”
