Matthew 10

Worsley

1 And He called unto Him his twelve disciples, and gave them power over impure spirits, even to cast them out; and to cure all diseases and every malady whatsoever. 2 Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; 3 Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James of Alpheus, and Lebbeus surnamed Thaddeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, even he that betrayed Him. 5 These twelve did Jesus send forth, and commanded them, saying, city of Samaritans:} 7 heal the sick,} 8 ye have received freely, freely give.} 9 no bag for journey,} 11 and there remain till ye leave } 14 dust of your feet:} 15 I tell you verily, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha, in the day of judgement, than for that city.} 17 men; for they will deliver you up to councils, and will scourge you in their synagogues.} 19 instant what ye shall speak: for it is not you that speak,} 21 brother to death, and the father child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death:} 22 for my name; but he that perseveres to the end shall certainly be saved.} 23 the cities of Israel, before the Son of man shall come.} 24 master, nor the servant above his lord:} 25 for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they call the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more his domestics?} 26 known.} 27 in the ear, preach ye from the house-tops.} 28 kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him, who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.} 29 your Father:} 36 his enemies.} 41 as such, shall receive a righteous ’s reward.} 42 but a cup of cold to drink, as disciple, I assure you, he shall not lose his reward.}
