Luke 19
Worsley1 And Jesus having entred Jericho passed through 2 and behold, a man named Zaccheus, who was chief publican, and rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who He was; but he could not for the croud; for he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before and got up into a sycamore-tree that he might see Him; for He was to pass by that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, 6 And he made haste and came down, and received Him with joy. 7 And when they saw they all murmured, saying, He is gone to be guest with a wicked man. 8 But Zaccheus stood and said unto Jesus, Behold, Lord, the half of my substance I give to the poor; and if I have taken any from any wrongfully, I restore fourfold. 9 Then said Jesus, to this house, for as much as he also is a son of Abraham.} 11 And as they listened to these He proceeded and spake a parable; because He was nigh to Jerusalem, and they thought that the kingdom of God would immediately be manifested. 12 He said therefore, of a kingdom and to return.} 13 his servants, and delivered to them ten pounds, and said, Trade till I come.} 14 to reign over us.} 15 } 17 good servant, as thou hast been faithful in a very little, thou shalt be governor over ten cities.} 20 Lord, thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:} 21 takest up what thou didst not lay down, and reapest what thou didst not sow.} 22 wicked servant, Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow;} 23 didst thou not put my money into the bank, that when I came I might have received it with interest?} 25 )} 26 hath shall be taken away.} 27 before me.} 28 And when He had said these things, He went forward, going up to Jerusalem. 29 And when He was nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called of Olives, He sent two of his disciples, 30 saying, entring, ye will find a colt tied, on which no man ever yet sat; loose him and bring } 31 thus shall ye say unto him, The Lord hath need of him.} 32 And they that were sent, went away and found as He had told them. 33 But as they were untying the colt, the owners of it said to them, Why do ye untie the colt? 34 and they answered, The Lord hath need of him. 35 And they brought him to Jesus: and throwing their garments upon the colt they set Jesus thereon. 36 And as He went along they spread their clothes under in the way. 37 And when He was now come near to the foot of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples rejoicing began to praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen, 38 saying, Blessed the king that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest! 39 And some of the pharisees from the multitude said to Him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And He answered them, stones would cry out.} 41 And as He drew near, beholding the city, He wept over it, 42 saying, to thy peace— but now they are hid from thine eyes.} 45 And He went into the temple, and cast out those that were buying and selling in it, 46 saying unto them, 47 And He was teaching daily in the temple: but the chief priests and the scribes and the rulers of the people sought to destroy Him; 48 and could not find how to effect it: for all the people were attentive to hear Him.
