1 Corinthians 3

1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you, as to spiritual but as to carnal as to babes in Christ. 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat; for ye were not hitherto able nor yet are ye even now able. 3 Because ye are still carnal: for while there is among you envy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye walk as men? 4 For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I of Apollos, are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who Apollos, but ministers by whose means ye embraced the faith, even as the Lord gave to each 6 I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase. 7 So that neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase. 8 And he that planteth, and he that watereth, are one: but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are fellow-laborers, of God: and ye are the husbandry of God, the building of God. 10 According to the grace of God given to me, as a wise architect I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon: but let every one see how he buildeth thereon. 11 For no one can lay other foundation, but that laid, which is Jesus Christ: and if any build upon this foundation gold, 12 silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 every man’s work shall be made manifest. For the day will shew because it will be discovered by fire, and the fire will prove every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide, which he hath built upon he shall receive a reward: 15 if any man’s work be burnt, he will be damaged; though he himself shall be saved, but, as out of fire. 16 Do ye not know that ye are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any one destroy the temple of God, him will God destroy: for the temple of God is holy, and this temple are ye. 18 Let no one deceive himself: if any among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written, “He taketh the wise in their own craftiness:" 20 and again, “The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain." 21 Therefore let no one glory in men: for all are yours; 22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or present, or future, all are yours; 23 and ye Christ’s; and Christ God’s.
