Matthew 13
Worrell1 On that day Jesus, having gone out of the house, was sitting by the seaside. 2 And there were gathered to Him great multitudes; so that He, having entered into a boat, sat down, and all the multitudes were standing on the beach. 3 And He spake to them many things in parables, saying, 4 fell by the wayside, and the birds, coming, devoured them.} 10 And the disciples, having come near, said to Him, “Wherefore dost Thou speak to them in parables?" 11 And He, answering, said to them, 17 .} 21 temporary; and, when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, straightway he stumbles.} 23 ; who, indeed, bears fruit, and produces, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”} 24 Another parable He set before them, saying, 31 Another parable He set before them, saying, 33 Another parable He spake to them: 34 All these things Jesus spake to the multitudes in parables; and, without a parable, He was wont to speak nothing to them; 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from foundation of the world." 36 Then, leaving the multitudes, He went into the house; and His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field." 37 And, answering, He said, 51 They say to Him, “Yes;" 52 and He said to them, 53 And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these parables, He departed thence. 54 And, coming into His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Whence hath this Man this wisdom, and the mighty works? 55 Is not This the carpenter’s Son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Whence, then, hath this Man all these things?" 57 And they were finding in Him occasion to stumble. And Jesus said to them 58 And He did not perform many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
