John 13
Worrell1 Now, before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that His hour came that He should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who in the world, He loved them to the end. 2 And, supper being in progress, the Devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s , to betray Him, 3 knowing that the Father gave all things into His hands, and that He came forth from God, and was going to God, 4 He riseth from the supper, and layeth aside His garments; and, taking a towel, He girded Himself. 5 Then He poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. 6 He cometh, therefore, to Simon Peter. He says to Him, “Lord, dost Thou wash my feet?" 7 Jesus answered, and said to him, 8 Peter says to Him, “Thou shalt never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, 9 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head." 10 Jesus saith to him, 11 for He knew him who would betray Him; on this account, He said, 12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, and reclined again, He said to them, 13 I am.} 19 .} 21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, 22 The disciples were looking one on another, doubting about whom He was speaking. 23 There was reclining in Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter, therefore, beckons to this one, and says to him, “Tell us who about whom He is speaking." 25 He, leaning back as on the breast of Jesus, says to Him, “Lord, who is it?" 26 Jesus, therefore, answereth, Having, therefore, dipped the morsel, He taketh and giveth it to Judas, of Simon Iscariot. 27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into him. Jesus, therefore, saith to him, 28 And no one of those reclining knew for what purpose He spake this to him; 29 for some thought, because Judas had the money-bag, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor. 30 He, therefore, having received the morsel, went out straightway; and it was night. 31 When, therefore, he went out, Jesus saith, 36 Simon Peter says to Him, “Lord, where art Thou going?” Jesus answered, 37 Peter says to Him, “Why can I not follow Thee even now? I will lay down my soul for Thee." 38 Jesus answered,
