Psalms 124

1 The songe of the steares. If 'fee Lord had not bene of oure side (now may Israel say) 2 If 'fee Lord had not bene of oure syde when men rose vp against vs. 3 They had swalowed vs vp quicke when thei were so wrathfully displeased at vs. 4 Yea the waters had drowned vs, 'fee streame had gone ouer oure soule. 5 The depe waters of the proud had gon euen vnto our soule. 6 But praysed be the Lord, which hath not geuen vs ouer for a praie vnto their teeth. 7 Oure soule is escaped, euen as a byrde out of the snare of the fouler: the snare is broken and we are delyuered. 8 Oure helpe standeth in the name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
