Revelation 15
BSA1 Then I saw another [different] great [intense, magnificent] and marvelous [worthy of wonder, astonishing] sign [supernatural indication, token] in heaven [the sky, God’s dwelling place]: seven [complete, perfect] angels with the seven [complete, perfect] final [last, concluding] plagues [blows, wounds], with which [by means of, through] the wrath [intense anger, displeasure] of God [the one true deity] is completed [finished, fulfilled]. word study 2 And I saw something like a sea [of crystal, transparent and radiant] of glass [transparent, like crystal] mixed with fire [flames], beside which stood those who had conquered [gained victory over, overcome] the beast [a wild or dangerous animal] and its image [a representation of the beast’s power] and the number [a specific quantity, a code] of its name [its identity, character, and authority]. They were holding harps [lyres, musical instruments for worship] from God [the divine source, the Creator], word study 3 and they sang the song [of praise and worship] of God’s servant Moses [the Hebrew lawgiver] and of the Lamb [the symbol of innocence and purity]: “Great [mighty, powerful] and wonderful [marvellous, full of wonder] are Your works [acts, deeds], O Lord God Almighty [the all-powerful One]! Just [righteous, fair] and true [genuine, authentic] are Your ways [paths, roads], O King [Sovereign Ruler] of the nations [Gentiles, non-Jewish people]! word study 4 Who will not fear [have reverence for] You, O Lord [the sovereign Master], and glorify [honor and praise] Your name [Your character and authority]? For You alone [exclusively, uniquely] are holy [set apart, sacred]. All nations [Gentiles, people of the world] will come and worship [bow down, pay homage] before You, for Your righteous acts [just and fair deeds] have been revealed [made known, manifested].” word study 5 After this [following these events] I looked, and the temple [sanctuary, sacred place]—the tabernacle [tent, dwelling place] of the Testimony [witness, evidence]—was opened [made accessible, revealed] in heaven [the sky, God’s dwelling place]. word study 6 And out of [from within, originating from] the temple [a sacred place of worship, the inner sanctuary] came the seven angels [heavenly messengers, divine agents] with the seven [complete, perfect] plagues [blows, wounds, or judgments], dressed in [clothed with, arrayed in] clean [pure, undefiled] and bright [shining, radiant] linen [fine, white fabric] and girded [fastened, bound] with golden [valuable, precious] sashes [belts, girdles] around their chests [breasts, the front of the body]. word study 7 Then one [out from, originating with] of the four living creatures [beings with life] gave the seven angels [messengers of God] seven golden [made of gold] bowls [vessels for pouring] full [filled to capacity] of the wrath [intense anger or displeasure] of God [the one true deity], who lives [having life] forever [toward the ages] and ever [of the ages]. word study 8 And the temple [sanctuary, sacred place of worship] was filled [completely filled, made full] with smoke [a symbol of God’s presence, divine glory] from the glory [honor, praise, divine splendor] of God [the supreme deity, Creator] and from His power [strength, miraculous ability]; and no one [nobody, none] could enter [go into, approach] the temple until [till, at the point when] the seven [complete, perfect number] plagues [judgments, punishments, blows] of the seven angels [heavenly messengers, divine agents] were completed [finished, fulfilled, brought to an end]. word study
