Psalms 70

1 Make haste [come quickly, hurry], O God [Elohim, the supreme Deliverer], to deliver [rescue, save] me! Hurry [make haste, come swiftly], O LORD [Yehovah], to help [assist, support] me! word study 2 May those who seek [pursue, go after] my life [soul, very being] be ashamed [put to shame, confounded] and confounded [turned backward, brought to dishonor]; may those who wish [desire, delight in] me harm [evil, hurt] be repelled [turned back, defeated] and humiliated [put to rebuke, disgraced]. word study 3 May those who say, “Aha, aha [with scorn, in triumph]!” retreat [turn back, be humiliated] because of their shame [guilt, humiliation, defeat] [as a reward for their wickedness]. word study 4 May all who seek [diligently search for, come to worship] You rejoice [be filled with joy, gladness] and be glad [have joy, delight] in You; may those who love [cherish, have affection for] Your salvation [deliverance, rescue] always say [continually declare, proclaim], “Let God [the Almighty, Creator] be magnified [exalted, praised]!” word study 5 But I am [extremely] poor [needy, destitute] and needy [lacking, in want]; hurry [make haste, come quickly] to me, O God [Elohim, my Helper].
