Psalms 130
BSA1 Out of the [profound, spiritual] depths [of sorrow, trouble, or desperation] I cry [with a loud voice, call out] to You, O [Yehovah] LORD [the covenant God, Yehovah]! word study 2 O Lord [Adonay, Master and Sovereign], hear [listen with attention and obedience] my voice [sound of my prayer]; let Your ears [ability to hear and understand] be attentive [careful and mindful] to my plea [earnest and heartfelt request] for mercy [compassion and forgiveness, supplication]. word study 3 If You, O LORD [Jah, the shortened form of God’s name], kept track [observed, marked, or recorded] of iniquities [moral evil, sin], then who [what person], O Lord [Adonay, a title of reverence], could stand [remain, endure, or be upheld]? word study 4 But with [together, in the presence of] You there is [exists, abides] forgiveness [merciful pardon, act of forgiving], so that [because of, for the purpose of] You may be [are, will be] feared [revered, stood in awe of]. word study 5 I wait [longingly, with expectation] for the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord of Israel]; my soul [the essence of my being, my living self] does wait, and in His word [divine promise, spoken truth] I put my hope [trust, confident expectation]. word study 6 My [living being, essence] soul waits for the Lord [Adonay, my Master] more than watchmen [those who keep, guard] wait for the morning [break of day, new beginnings]— more than watchmen [faithfully watching, expecting] wait for the morning [dawn, light]. word study 7 O Israel [the descendants of Jacob], put your hope [wait patiently, trust confidently] in the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], for with the LORD [in His presence, together with Him] is loving devotion [kindness, mercy], and with Him is redemption [deliverance, salvation] in abundance [plenteous, multiplied, great]. word study 8 And He [the Redeemer] will redeem [to ransom, set free from sin] Israel [the symbolic name of Jacob, God’s chosen people] from all [every, the entirety of] iniquity [moral evil, sin, wickedness]. word study
