Psalms 121

1 I lift up [raise, elevate] my eyes [the source of sight, understanding] to the hills [mountains, high places]. From where [whence, from what source] does my help [aid, assistance, support] come [originate, arise]? word study 2 My help [assistance, support] comes from the LORD [Yehovah, the covenant God], the Maker [One who creates, forms] of heaven [the sky, the spiritual realm] and earth [the land, the physical world]. word study 3 He will not [under any circumstances] allow your foot [the path of your life] to slip; your Protector [the One who keeps and watches over you, your Guardian] will not [fall into a state of] slumber [become drowsy or careless]. word study 4 Behold [see, look], the Protector [Keeper, Guardian] of Israel [God’s chosen people] will neither [not at all] slumber [doze, fall into a light sleep] nor [not] sleep [be lazy, grow old]. word study 5 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] is your keeper [watching over, protecting]; the LORD is the shade [shadow, protection] on your right hand [an open hand; strength, a side or share]. word study 6 The sun [the sun; the east or the west] will not [indicating absence or negation] strike [to smite or hit] you by day [daily or during daylight], nor the moon [natural satellite] by night [time of darkness or adversity]. word study 7 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] will guard [keep, protect, watch over] you from [against, free from] all [every kind of, everything] evil [bad, moral or natural harm]; He will preserve [keep, watch over, protect] your soul [living being, essence of a person]. word study 8 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] will watch over [keep, preserve, and protect] your coming [going out, departure] and going [coming in, arrival], both now [at this time, from this moment] and forevermore [always, for eternity, till the end of time]. word study
