6 Bible Verses on Turning From the Truth

6 verses

Rejecting the teachings of Jesus and the Scriptures can have severe spiritual consequences. According to John 14:6 and John 16:13, Jesus is the ultimate source of truth, and the Holy Spirit guides believers into all truth. However, as seen in Romans 1:18-25, people can suppress the truth and turn to false ideologies, leading to spiritual darkness. Jesus warned that only those who continue in His word will know the truth and be set free, as stated in John 8:31-32. Ultimately, 2 Timothy 4:4 cautions that turning from the truth can lead to believing myths and fables, rather than the sound doctrine of the gospel.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness. For what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity for the dishonoring of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.
So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
So they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
