Living a life that honors God is a central theme in Scripture, with the apostle Paul writing that we should strive to please Him in all we do. According to Hebrews, faith is essential to pleasing God, as it is impossible to please Him without it. In 1 Thessalonians, Paul notes that his ministry was aimed at pleasing God rather than people, while Proverbs observes that when God is pleased with someone, even their enemies will be at peace with them. By surrendering to God's will, as described in Romans, we can live a life that is pleasing to Him, transformed by the renewing of our minds.
